Then layout of the place is amazing. I went in around 3 nobody was there so in expected great service and fresh food. The waitress had an attitude. The food didn't take long to prepare but half of my rice was undercooked. It really was mediocre food for the price. The waitress also got upset because all we left here was the change from the bill and started slamming the plates as she cleaned the table. 2 stars

My family and I are regulars for our Sunday meals. Great staff, great food, and great prices for the portions. The lunch bento boxes give you a lot of good flavors and good foods with an amazing price. Will continue to return again and again.

Great ambience and the food is amazing! Loved the salad dressing, the fried rice and noodles are to die for

Looks like a contemporary church from outside. It had decent sushi, and the whole tapanyaki experience was fun: even though our cook was obviously drunk. He absent mildly left the vegetables cooking for over half a hour poor things were weeping. All in all for Arkansas it will do.

Went here last night because I wanted to try the rival to Kobe Sushi and Hibachi. I was pleased with the location but that's about all I was pleased about. We got sat with another party that had been there for a little bit and before I could sit down, the server was asking for my drink order. Huge pet peeve of mine...if you want me to order something other than water, let me read the menu. She took our order and I was disappointed they didn't have ranch dressing for the salad but it wasn't a deal breaker. I did ask for no mushrooms in my soup and she said "no problem". Soup arrived full of mushrooms. The cook started our show and was trying to do a trick with the egg and it ended up landing and breaking on one of the guests at our table. Food show went on, but just an FYI, they don't have the yummy sauce that Kobe has. They only have the ginger based sauce. I got the steak and shrimp which was decent but much smaller portions than Kobe. My friend got the teppanyaki chicken and immediately upon serving, there was a black hair in his food from the cook. We both got fried rice and the rice was stale and crunchy. It was a Sunday night so maybe it was a few days old, but it wasn't good. The real kicker being when I went to pay my bill, the server was gone forever with my debit card. I received an alert from my back that she had charged my card over $200 for our bill which was only $54. She had "messed up" and charged my card for the other party's bill as well as mine. They reversed it but we know banks take 3-4 days to put it back. She wasn't very apologetic for it. I left annoyed and the icing on the cake? We both got food poisoning within 2 hours of eating there and the only commonality we ate was the salad and the fried rice. I will never be disloyal to Kobe again! Diners beware!

Came by for a quick meal and was pleasantly surprised to have such nice professional staff, great food, awesome view, and nice swanky place.

My husband and I sat at a high-top overlooking the valley on a Friday evening, and although the restaurant was very busy, that area felt very laid-back. It took a while to get our drinks and food, but when they arrived -- oh my! (The slow service is the reason I did not give them the fifth star.) I had the Blue Point roll which was out of this world! My husband had the Regular Combination Dinner, which was excellent, but not quite as tasty as the Blue Point. We will definitely return for more of the flavors and views at Shogun!

Sushi - 9 Menu Food - 8 Decor - 9 Service - sometimes 7 sometimes 8 If this place felt a little more local, it would be worth 5 stars, and usually all proteins on the menu are overcooked. Diamond Bear IPA on tap!!!!

This is one of my go-to places to eat. Every time I'm there I'm always leaving satisfied! I never have the hibachi grill but the entrees and sushi are awesome. Never had a problem with service and I'm a frequent customer.

The view is great! The sushi is great for Arkansas. Sushi on any coast is 10 times better, but from around here, it's not bad. The service is good as well. I never do hibachi but it seems popular for birthdays by the lights and sounds that come from that area. I would recommend shogun for sushi lovers to those who like plain fried rice. I love the Razorback roll and the Korean BBQ is good too! They have good sushi tuna! Always get a Japanese beer there. Delicious and appropriate.

Somehow they are able to charge outrageous prices for mediocre food. I think that we are so caught up in the floor show that we aren't aware of the out of this world crazy prices. Don't be fooled by all of the different types of rolls either. The food here is just ok. I miss it when it was a more scaled down establishment located in the corner of the strip mall on Joyce. Some places can get too big for their own good and ruin a good thing. The sushi bar is the best thing going here. The fish is always fresh and delicious.

Had a reservation for 5 at 6pm and by 6:30 I was getting quite annoyed that we had not been seated. Strike one. We had a show at the WAC and did not want to be late. The grill area was very bright with lights and so crowded. Very loud. I agree its probably a "fun" place for a birthday but the fact the lights went off and strobe lights started with loud music maybe 10 times while we were there celebrating those birthdays was quite annoying. I liked the idea of sharing a plate for an upcharge since the rice, etc is so filling. The rice however was a disappointment when it is usually my favorite part. I also am a fan of the white sauce....at the Rogers/Bville Shoguns...not here. Ick. The "show" was fast, no doubt to the back up of people waiting to be seated. I very much enjoyed the Hurricane roll so that was a plus. I suppose since the building is newer and larger, I expected more. I will stick to my local Shoguns going forward. It was just "Meh".

Second time winner. Sushi here is good stuff. Sashimi is best I have had in awhile. Large and tasty.

This place was right across from our apartment complex so we would eat here often. Its a solid Japanese teppanyaki joint. I've never had the sushi here so I can't comment but everything else was good. Definitely worth trying out.

Our food was uh-maiz-ing! I had the Korean BBQ Short Ribs, and there was so much food. The server was excellent too. Will definitely be coming back here!

We walked in and they were reasonably busy for a Sunday evening. There was no one waiting to be seated, so the hostess walked over and told us to have a seat and she would get us seated in about 5 minutes. She never came back, and 15 minutes later we stopped a male employee and asked him how much longer. He apologized and took us straight to a grill. The waiter took our drink and food orders right away, and we didn't wait long for the cook to come entertain us. He was a little dry, but the kids really enjoyed him, and his food was good! The waiter forgot to bring any of our rice, and after we were finished eating he brought us a to go box full of steamed rice. That was kind of a waste. Then my husband noticed that we had been charged for the fried rice also, which we never got. They took that off the bill for us. As for prices and quality of the food, it was very good! I'll go back again for sure, but this time I'll keep an eye out for my rice!

Well, we did it again. There was a group of four that I was taking out for sushi. I wanted to go to Kobe', my son wanted Shogun, so we go Shogun. My son asked the waiter three times during ordering to make sure that we were finished with our appetizers before bringing our main course. My son had not even taken a bite out of his sushi roll and here comes our main course. Seriously!!!! I was livid! I asked to spread to the "manager" and they sent someone that obviously had no management experience and he just nodded and said sorry we will work on that. It was 8 o'clock on a Friday night and it wasn't busy at all. The food is at best mediocre and the prices are steep. The waiter spent the rest of the meal trying to be nice, but he was TERRIBLE!!!! This will be the last time I go here for sure! Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! My bad!!

My husband & I went here on my birthday & I have to say that I wasn't disappointed! We were sat at a table facing the windows with a great overlook of Fayetteville. The waitress was recommended some of their flavored sake. If you enjoy sake you should definitely try it! We had the raspberry & the lychee flavor. We ended up mixing them together for an even better flavor! I think I preferred the lychee over the raspberry though. We shared two sushi rolls...I can't remember which now though! But they were both excellent. The portions were a little smaller than some restaurants in the area. I guess that would be my only complaint. I thought their prices were on par with other restaurants in the area. The waitress was also very attentive. It was overall a great experience and we will return for sure!

The food here is so yummy! I was hesitant at first because of the steep price but I guess I don't expect anything less from a Japanese restaurant. I chose the shogun salmon. It came with 1.5 pieces of salmon, hibachi vegetables (broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, zucchini, onions), lo mein, and white rice. (fried rice is $2 extra) The entree also comes with onion soup and a salad. Super delicious and worth the money. The atmosphere confuses me though which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The restaurant is beautiful and its nestled on a hill with a lovely view. I expected a high end ambiance but the presentation overall of the restaurant (not the food) felt cheap. The font of the signage and menus looked faux nice. The waitress wasn't very professional. She took over 5 minutes to address us to only make us wait 10 more minutes before coming back for us. We looked around the restaurant and it wasn't very busy so we didn't understand why it took 15 minutes to take our order. Nevertheless, we did enjoy our meal but at the end of our meal she brought us to-go boxes and plastic "thank you (come again)" bags.... the same kind I would expect at Panda Express or the like. Most high end restaurants, the wait staff usually pack up your food for you but we had to do it ourselves. I walked out feeling like I had Chinese take out instead of a nice Japanese meal worthy of $$$ status. Confusion.

Been here a couple of times. One guy we had serving us for dinner seemed like he really hated his job - but the food was good. Just had lunch here for the first time the other day and it was so-so. Not a fan of the miso soup or chicken (kind of dry), but the sushi rolls and noodles were good. I'd go back again for lunch, but would rather checkout another place if it were up to me. Price wasn't too bad - around $10 per person.

I enjoyed a great lunch here this week. I was glad they had the option to eat outdoors, since it was a gorgeous day. We were seated quickly, and the view of the valley was fantastic. I ordered a salmon teriyaki bento box, which was $10, and an excellent value. It was plenty of food, and it was all very tasty. I had two gripes with Shogun - my diet coke was $2.50 (ouch!), and the food took a long while to come out. The view was nice enough that I didn't mind waiting, but it was fairly leisurely pace for a work lunch. We chose to walk our bills inside rather than wait. All in all, the experience was positive, and the food quality was very good. I'll be back, but might save this for when I can afford a leisurely pace.

Great atmosphere and always very busy! The hibachi chefs are always good and usually a great crowd pleaser. The hibachi food is great and sushi is one of the best in town. The Sky Bar is small but a fun view of the town and if not packed with a group, can be a romantic spot for a drink. I've been here many many times and the service is always good. My one and only gripe with this place is the birthday song, music and strobe light that is played at least six or eight times each night in the hibachi area. I realize this is a very popular place for birthday groups but the strobe light and music is kind of obnoxious. This is a great place to take someone from out of town to show them Fayetteville does have a little class.

Located on top of a hill w/great views of Fayetteville. On a beautiful day grab a table out on the patio and enjoy the scenery. Serves hibachi and sushi. Lots of rolled sushi option and include a picture menu. Nice table w/granite tops, very chic booths w/comfortable cushioned seats and pillows. Stock bar. Happy hour (2pm-6pm) 15%off sushi. Friendly staff.

This place was my hubby and I's first date so I'm a bit partial. Great atmosphere. I usually order steak and chicken combo. And I freaking love rice cooked on Hibachi grills. The drinks at the bar are always mixed perfectly and the sushi is fresh and flavorful. I have learned its better to still order from Hibachi without sitting at the grill. Food is much quicker and imo- if you've seen the 'eggroll' trick once you've seen it a hundred times.

Two of my friends and I went to Shogun's on tuesday night. I like japanese food a lot Sushi and Hibachi. We were sat promptly. the atmosphere was upscale kind of. We had plenty of room at the Hibachi grill-which is good since often times you barely have room to breathe. We ordered an appetizer of two maguri style tuna and a california roll. Both were very good. Then we ordered the steak and chicken combo and filet mignion (spelling). Hint here: the steak and chicken combo is a good price. Well, out comes the hibachi chef and I think we just got lucky. I usually find the hibachi chefs at other places kind of hoakie. But this guy was actually entertaining-we were all genuinely laughing! He did a great job in the food preperation as well. Cost for three of us...about 30 bucks each. plus tipping. We did not order alcohol so I dont know how that was. But the service was VERY good and it was a great time.
