The Fish House Menu

Mostly due to the lack of selection of catfish restaurants in Conway, we frequent the Fish House. Their catfish is very good, but by far not the best. The food is also very pricey for the quantity. My significant other & I usually order an 8 piece with two sides, and it runs for around $21!. I do have to give the restaurant kudos for having such a long, long history within this town. Also, try the Brannon's lemonade made in-house (think state fair style with whole lemons in the glass & tons of sugar), it's to die for !

Fantastic Catfish! Ok sides (I had fries and fried okra) both were hot and fresh but just ok. Expensive! I had sticker shock looking at the menu. My lunch (3 piece catfish and two sides with drink) was $21.50 with tip.

Catfish is my favorite food and the catfish here is good. By far not the best I've ever had but in Conway we're limited to where we can find catfish. The prices are high and they are closed on Sunday. The hushpuppies are awesome and the do have a drive thru so that's helpful although the speaker is awful and they can never hear me which is kind of annoying. Be sure to check your take out order because one time I got all the way across town to find they had given me the wrong order.

For some reason we were all craving catfish, so we trekked out to Conway. The Fish House is clearly a local favorite. This place isn't fancy by any means, but it doesn't really need to be. The meal starts with complimentary hush puppies and green tomatoes. Wow! The tomatoes were pleasantly sweet and had a good kick to them. Very tasty. The hushpuppies were likely purchased forzen, but still good. At least the batter was nice and crisp. I picked their Shrimp and Fish Combo for my entree: 3 catfish filets and 3 fantail shrimp. I also got onion rings and potato salad for my two sides. The mustard-based potato salad had a good crunch from the veggies, but wasn't anything special. I liked the light batter on my onion rings. They could have used more seasoning though. Their fried shrimp looked like the pre-frozen variety. That being said, they were a good size and had a nice batter on them. They were a nice addition to the meal. As for the catfish, the light cornmeal batter was perfect. My filets weren't fishy tasting at all. I liked the blend of spices in the batter as well. One of the most awesome parts of the meal was the unlimited free access to their soft serve machine!

When we visit my husband's grandpa in Conway, a visit to The Fish House is a must. It's just plain good, home-style Arkansas food. You sit down at tables covered with ads for local businesses. The server brings out complimentary green tomatoes and hush puppies. Good grief, those hush puppies. I try to avoid tons of deep fried stuff, but I kinda have to forget that while at the Fish House. Their hush puppies are crunchy, doughy bites of heaven. I have been here every few years since 2002. I never explore the menu. I know their cat fish is awesome. I live in Arizona. We can't get good seafood like this. Their fried okra? Perfection. The green beans and steamed veggies were what I got this time, and they are good and absolutely what you expect.

Consistently very good. Fish is perfectly cooked. Crisp and golden on the outside, white and flakey on the inside. Perfectly seasoned, for me. Slaw is excellent. Baked potatoes are truly baked, not microwaved. Friendly, helpful staff.

Took the advice and got the Chicken Sandwich, spicy breading very good. Also the hush puppies so good you end up eating them pretty quickly hence you have no room left, my entree was so big, I ended up having to pace myself to finish off the sandwich, leaving little room for the slaw/mashed. The slaw btw is slightly less seasoned than KFC's slaw which is good, so was very pleased with that. The mashed where good as well. It is a little pricey but my companion enjoyed her catfish, and it looked like it was cooked perfect. Waitstaff friendly, and upbeat. Will be back

Go for the bubble, stay for the cluck. This place has been around Conway for some time and for a good reason. Its pretty good. The meal starts off with a dish of pickled tomatoes and a basket of hush puppies. The tomatoes are good if you like pickled tomatoes. The hush puppies are addictive. Whole baskets have been known to vanish into thin air mere moments after their arrival. Yes they are that good. The catfish is quite good, crispy crunchy breading and good clean catfish. No muddy taste here. You should try the catfish at least once. That being said, ORDER THE CHICKEN. Yes its called The Fish House but the fried chicken is delicious. Boneless tenderloins that come fresh from the fryer in a crispy peppery batter. They are so good. I know, its The Fish House but the chicken is worth the visit. Yes, I hear you, there is fishing memorabilia on the wall, still........ order the chicken. Yes, I know what must be the worlds longest cane pole is on the wall, but trust me......order the chicken. Most dinners come with two sides. I can vouch for the french fries as being pretty good but go with the waffle fries, easily some of the best waffle fries I have eaten. The fried okra is pretty good too. I am told the greens and the potato salad are pretty tasty too but I would not touch that stuff with a 10 foot pole or even the afore mentioned worlds longest cane pole. To top it off, soft serve ice cream with hot fudge is included and you can get it in a cone or cup, self service. That is if you can still move after inhaling the hush puppies and........the chicken. Coke products have recently replaced Pepsi products and I don't care for that, but that is my opinion. What a minute, this is ALL my opinion. All in all a good place for lunch or dinner. The restrooms could use a little more attention but that is a common condition. And remember your old pal Eric says to go for the bubble but stay for the cluck or in simpler terms.......order the chicken.
