Will not return. Tempura was soggy. Not a vegetable to be found in the fried rice. Our waitress picked up the salt and pepper along with other condiments by the lids with her bare hand. She dropped my to go lid on the floor then set it back on the table for me. Vents and decor in the bathroom were furry with dust making me wonder how dirty the kitchen is. Gross, salty and gross.

Okay, so this review is coming from someone who has actually worked at Fuji (i.e. Me). The sushi is pretty phenomenal now that they have stepped up their game in order to compete with the 3 (count 'em, 3) new Japanese/Hibachi/Sushi places that have recently opened up in Conway. I was never a huge fan of hibachi to begin with, but the chefs at Fuji are energetic and funny, and the rice is to die for. The lunch specials they have now are totally phenomenal, I couldn't even finish my sushi/sashimi combo, there was too much! There isn't anything on the menu that I wouldn't recommend, except perhaps the overpriced desserts (specifically, the Mochi). The teryaki veggies that they serve with every hibachi dish are incredible, please do not order double rice, no one needs that much grain!

We patronize Fuji often; it's a go-to restaurant for us for comfort food. We know what we're getting, the servers know us and the food is consistently good, though not necessarily imaginative. We usually order edamame as an appetizer to share, and then I get sushi: nigiri fresh salmon, nigiri smoked salmon and shrimp tempura roll. My husband has hibachi salmon (we sit at a table, not the grill). I've also had other rolls here that are also consistently good. At dinner they serve little complimentary crispy rice toasts that are delicious! The wine list isn't extraordinary, but the pours are generous. I've never tried the cocktails, but they offer margaritas and cosmopolitans. I sometimes have dessert, but have only tried the ice cream tempura, which is good, in a Japanese junk food kind of way. We get the same meal to take out, too, pretty regularly and it is always reliably good. This is really our neighborhood sushi restaurant, and I think the consistent good quality, good service and fresh, good sushi is worth four stars.

This place is a typical hibachi grill restaurant. I had the grilled squid that my husband swore it was string ray meat. Either way it was like butter and very good so don't be squeamish about ordering it. My husband had the chicken and it was just ok for him. Had it not been for the squid I would have said it just a mediocre restaurant. As for service the waiter was slow had to chase the waiter down for our check. The cook was in a hurry and barley cracked any jokes. I think I'll skip this when back in Conway.

As a farewell and thank you to my cast/crew of the movie I just shot here, I suggested Fuji's because I craved sushi. I was here last year and had a wonderful meal that harkened to S.F. and the myriad of sushi places we have there. There were nine of us and so a wait of about 15 minutes ensued but we were seated and taken care of well. I saw Karashi Octopus which is like cerviche, only Japanese-style. Slightly firm, bathed in a gingery marinade with seaweed and a bit of a kick, it was well-executed. I tried some of the grilled squid and steak..all tender and tasty. Our chef was only slightly funny: he pelted me with multiple vegies without finding my mouth My son got the Sushi Deluxe while I got the Sashimi Deluxe and we traded pieces. The fish was very fresh and presented delicately on a bed of daikon, shiso leavs and carrots. Well worth the trip there and a memorable experience!

So I ordered the Shrimp Tempura appetizer-- which you would think would be dominated by, oh, I don't know, SHRIMP-- however, there were only TWO pieces of shrimp, and SEVEN pieces of vegetable tempura. I mean, look, I get it. I'm supposed to eat my vegetables. Thanks for your concern regarding my health, Fuji. But *only two pieces* of shrimp for $8?? I even complained to the server about it, and she simply said, "That's what we do here. The appetizer is two pieces of shrimp, and the entree is five." Are you kidding me? How the heck did I pay $8 for TWO PIECES OF SHRIMP TEMPURA?!?! My boyfriend, who was sitting on the other side of the awkwardly spaced booth, ordered Chicken Teriyaki. I've had better chicken teriyaki at literally any mall food court. The meat was tough and most likely frozen at some point in time. The sauce was very weak. The service was just OK. Glad for the experience, but definitely not recommending it, nor going back.

Good Cali roll and sashimi tuna. Will eat here again. Would have given more stars but bathrooms leave a lot to be desired.

Always enjoy the sushi & hibachi bar every time we're in Conway. Ask for the spicy yum-yum for extra flavor

Been here a few times and the sushi is fair for a small town in Arkansas. However the sushi rolls are small for the price you pay if you compare to the other restaurants in the area. Hibachi is ok, Andy provides a great show but he is about the only one worth seeing. Hibachi food is no different than what you get elsewhere though. Word of caution is the service at this restaurant. Service can be very poor, especially from this one rude waitress. She provided slow service and would stare at you and rudely ask "what??" when I have been waiting on my drink. I certainly don't believe it is appropriate to be treated this way when I ask for a refill after waiting patiently for 10 min. When it was mentioned to the lady owner, she spoke to the waitress in Chinese which I obviously don't understand but it was clear that she didn't care for it with her smirk without acceptance of her action. Overall: overpriced, fair quality, poor service. Go at your own risk.

I've been here twice (only once was it my idea) and I don't think highly of this place at all. Okay, I'll start with the food.....3 stars. It's utterly and completely average Japanese food. Being from a big city with a growing number of Japanese restaurants I'd have to say that the sushi is average, the tempura is nothing special and the entertaining routine where they cook your meat in front of you?? That food is below average. So the 3 stars on the food.....service? All the servers look very mean and bitchy, not a smile on a single face. And when you ask them for help? They only prove me right. One waitress even glared at me and asked "What?" when I said excuse me (to ask for refills of water as they hadn't come by our table for half an hour). Maybe because my group was college students they thought we'd be cheap tippers (not like I was going to prove them wrong with that service). The service was so bad that even had the food been the best Japanese food ever I would not have gone back. The friends I was with also said they would never go back. Oh yea, and prices? Over priced by about double....or at least 50%. Paying top dollar for average food and terrible service? No thanks. Save yourself some trouble and try Mt. Fuji off of Rodney Parham (better food and better service) or McDonald's (at least its cheap).

When my coworkers recommended a sushi joint in Conway I was apprehensive. Sushi in a small town in the middle of Arkansas? Well, I'm a sushi snob, but thought what the heck. I was gladly surprised! I ordered green tea, miso soup, and two sushi rolls. Both rolls were great. The fish was fresh and flavors were great. The menu had great specialty rolls to choose from. Service was great as well. Our waiter was very friendly and food was prepared very quickly. I highly recommend!

I got the deluxe sushi assortment. Asked the waiter to substitute out one type of fish I do not eat. He told me "Can't do that without charging additional." I've been to lots of sushi bars and never had a problem with a substitution. Anyway, paid $2 more and got it substituted. Then my order comes and it is nothing but salmon, tuna and a CA roll. This is not an assortment!! My son orders salmon teriyaki. It comes on a cast iron steer skillet on a bed of grilled onions and green peppers! Come on folks, this is Japanese food -- Not MEXICAN FAJITAS! Shame on Fuji! The food was not great either! $45 well wasted on dinner for two!

The food is fine, if the sushi roll could be a little bigger, it would be better
