I almost don't have words to express how brilliant this place is. They're my go-to restaurant in Bryant. A friend who had stayed in India confirmed that the food here is just like what she ate every day in Gujarat. I just love international food in general, and everything I've ever ordered here has been incredible. The servers (you'll usually get Jimmy) are extremely polite; and if you know anything about India, they'll chat with you as much as they can in between serving other customers! If you're worried about slow service, which was never a noticeable problem for me, an order of Garlic Nan as an appetizer fills the dinner wait time perfectly.

In summary MOST HORRIBLE INDIAN RESTAURANT I have ever been to. Have no idea how people have been giving 5ers to this one. While travelling to Texas last month, we were passing through Little Rock, AR and stopped overnight in a hotel near this restaurant. Being fond of Indian food, my family and I decided to have dinner at this place as it was walking distance from nearby hotels. The very first experience was shocking as we were served our order after waiting for almost 30 minutes. The order itself was a joke. I asked them for something, later they come and tell me its not available, why don't you try this one? I mean c'mon, I am not at your restaurant to eat what you want me to? I ordered Daal Tarka and was served with "Black Lentil" which I don't even eat. I ordered a side of "Zeera Rice" and was served plain white rice. I asked the waiter that I coudn't see any zeera in it? He then took it back and then brought it with a "tarka" of zeera. We were served with water in a jug and the glass I was given had lipstick marks on it which means that it wasn't even washed after it was served last. The salmon fish that my wife ordered was literally burnt from outside and "cold and raw" from inside which means they tried to grill it on a very high flame. The juice my daughter was served with had a black hair. My daughter has brown hair so I would have imagined that it was hers but no it wasn't. We were very tired that day and all we wanted was a good dinner but this restaurant made our day even worse. I would not recommend to anyone. I am an Indian myself but this restaurant is a shame to Indian Food!

Really enjoy this place - surprising to find decent Indian food in Bryant, AR, especially considering that there are very few regular decent food options in Bryant, AR. Friendly service, good food, nice people. Give it a try!

Stayed in Bryant and jumped on Yelp to see what was close to the hotel I was staying at. Being at the La Quinta this was within walking distance for me. I had never had Indian food, but wanted something unique. I travel a lot and wanted something "different". What could be MORE different I asked myself? So what the hell.. Why not? I sat down and was given a menu. I had NO idea what 80% of the menu even was so I asked the beautiful waitress what she recommended for a first timer. We settled on the variety platter. I had never had goat before but it was delicious! Great unique food. Don't be scared try something new!

Good food , not great. The options on the buffet are fairly limited. The food is fresh and the server is attentive, he even accommodated our special requests with a smile and at no extra charge. As an Indian, I longed for more flavor in the food and maybe a slightly larger spread! I would definitely go back though and try something else a la carte.

I travel a lot and love finding local 'non-chain' restaurants to try. After reading other reviews about Desi Den...I had to try it. Believe me...you will not be disappointed. The food and service are both excellent...and the prices very reasonable.

Very friendly and great service! Gave my wife a peach drink while she waited for take out. Very tasty quality food, and they deliver quickly. Nice to have Indian in Bryant!

Good was great. First time Indian food diner. However the service was slow, but still good. One waiter was working the entire dining area. He appeared a little stressed at times. I do my know if that is a typical occurrence. But I will be back. Dessert was great too!

Tried several indian places and this is one of the better ones i have been to. Benton/Bryant doesn't have to drive too far to eat Indian.

So we know Bryant is lacking when it comes to good food. Thankfully this little gem has been opened in a really convenient spot. Tonight I had lamb kebabs. Um yumm! The flavors and spices were exactly what the taste buds craved. They have a couple of kids items and my four year old had chicken tikka. Very nice flavor without spice so it was perfect for him. Finally, my better half had the chicken tikka masala. It was really tasty. She's not normally adventurous but loved this. Once again the interesting spices created a party in my mouth that would be really difficult to dislike. We also had some very nice garlic naan and who doesn't love perfectly cooked basmati rice. I'm happy to have found this place and can't wait to try other menu items. Definitely crave worthy.

Excellent food and service! I'm from out of state coming back to my old stomping grounds for a family visit. We were looking for food that was outside of the typical fast food or chain restaurant. Desi Den is a gem with excellent customer service from Jimmy. The food was awesome! I ordered a garlic nan and the boti kaba lamb with sauce and rice. Heavenly!!!! Try something new and unique, visit this place! They have a lunch buffet on Friday-Sunday. You won't regret it :)

Excellent restaurant. Out of the three groups of people dining in while we were there, all three told the waiter that they had a great meal and mentioned that they would be returning. I had some type of lamb curry, my wife had chicken curry, and we shared some type of garlic bread. The bread was very good with the curry sauce. The portion size was perfect. Oh and there were kids dining with their parents at the other tables that didn't seem to be completely bored with the experience. While the other tables enjoyed the rice pudding for desert, we had an evaporated milk, cardamom, and pistachio dish which was similar to ice cream. It was a small portion but the perfect amount for the taste and texture of the dish. I should also note that nothing was too spicy so don't be afraid. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. Bryant needs more restaurants like this.

So happy to have an Indian restaurant in this area. We have had the buffet a few times and ordered off of the menu. We were very pleased each time. The service is great as well. It is so nice to not have to drive into LR for good Indian food anymore.

The food and staff are excellent! I was a first timer here so I tried a little bit of everything with the mixed grilled dinner. This restaurant is a great addition to the Benton / Bryant area!

Ever since 2008, after a bad indian food restaurant experience in memphis, tn i have been very hesitant to try another. I went with my GF due to raving reviews abou this place. All i can say it A++++, top notch authentic cuisine. Truly one of the best ethnic meals i have ever had! Recommend to anyone who has a palate for ethnic cuisine. Please go and give it a try

Got the recommendation from our hotel front desk when asking for good dinner food that wasn't fast food. My husband and I have lived in DC the past 4 yrs so we have a pretty high standard for Indian food and this was yummy! The waiter and chef were very friendly and attentive-- we were the only diners tonight. They turned on the Indian music and kept our wear glasses full. My husband had lamb and I had chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. All were top-notch and the sweet lassi was relish! We were just passing through town but locals should definitely help keep this place in business!! Amazing :)

Great food and excellent service. Excellent! Before Desi Den opened I would have had to drive to Little Rock for anything remotely unique. No longer!

Great food and service, reasonable prices. Bryant is so limited in ethnic food choices, I was excited to try this out and I wasn't disappointed. Will def be back!

Had a fantastic meal here. I'm an Indian food freak and have had it at some of the best spots in California, New York, London, etc. Desi Den stands up (and out). "Jimmy" was so charming and friendly as a server, the naan bread was amazing as were the two vegetarian items we ordered - Palak (spinach) with potatoes and a chickpea curry. Delicious. Not crowded when we were there at about 5:30-6:00. I hope more people patronize this place - it is a rare find in a woefully-underserved market.

I have never been so disappointed. I ordered butter chicken/Chicken Makhani ($14), fire roasted eggplant/Baingan Bharta ($13), Unbuttered Naan ($2), and Meat Samosas. Problem 1) I asked for Lamb Samosa. I was told that it's chicken samosa. I then point to the menu where it says lamb, and the waiter said it is a "non-veg" samosa with all meats (lamb, chicken and beef). Okay ... I order it. It seemed strange to have beef in it ... but okay. Problem 2) 5 seconds later the waiter comes back and says they do not have any non-veg samosa left, would I like something else.... No ... not really. Problem 3) The butter chicken shows up and it's 1 small piece of tandoori chicken submerged in tomato butter sauce (yes ... It was like Tikka Masala). It was 2 drumsticks and a partial thigh. Nothing but bones in chunky tomato sauce. Problem 4) When I told the the waiter that what we got was not butter chicken, he told me I was wrong. He then explained that I didn't know what butter chicken was and that this was how the chef made it. I explained that I've been to 100s of Indian restaurants, in fact I cook Indian food regularly, and that this was in no way buttered chicken. The only way to eat it was to pick it up in your hands since it had little meat on it. So I took a bath in the Tikka Masala sauce and tried it. BONES! Problem 5) So my wife decided that she would eat the buttered chicken. And I resolved to have the eggplant. Well the eggplant was overcooked and cold. Problem 6) So my wife then grumbled about the Naan. It was mildly burnt with butter despite the fact that we asked for it without butter... it was buttered Problem 7) And all of it served on top of lumpy Basmati rice. If you want Indian food, go elsewhere. I'll drive to Little Rock next time. Don't waste your money here.

Desi Den is probably the best Indian food in the Benton/Bryant area but the food at Taj Mahal in Little Rock is much better. I realize that not everyone can or is willing to travel to Little Rock just for lunch/dinner. Personally, I can't see myself driving 15+ miles to Desi Den when Taj Mahal is less than 2 miles away. Now for the food review. For appetizers, I would recommend the Masala Papad as it was light but filling and full of flavor (and also spicy). Entrees, on the other hand, was disappointing but everything was edible. The biggest disappointment was the regular naan as it was really doughy and I find that inexcusable for an Indian restaurant and tasted a little like biscuits. Service wise, really great and attentive. I do hope the restaurant is successful, especially since Indian restaurants are scarce outside of the city of Little Rock.

Everything was super bland, so I can definitely see why white people love it. Their food basically tastes like if India had its own version of Wal-Mart and that version of Wal-Mart made Indian frozen dinners but no matter how long they're microwaved, they never get fully heated.

So, I damn near put my review in my pro tip. Regardless, who would've thunk I'd get premium Indian fare in Bryant, AR...? Surely not this Yelper. It was lunch time, it was empty, it was memorial day. What else could go wrong? Aside slow service, as in REALLY slow service; the food here is magical. No, it really is superb. Portion sizes are fair and the food is just downright delicious. My son had the chicken tikka kebab - fork tender, flavorful and juicy. It was stunningly good. My lamb rogan josh was also incredibly tender (like it had been braised for hours), with an unctuous deeply flavored gravy. Bits of cardamom, clove and black pepper as well as fresh chili throughout. My biggest compliment? They did not "white boy" me, I asked for it Indian hot and while not the hottest I've had, was hot enough to satisfy. That is the most important part, for me at least. Come one, come all. I love Indian cuisine and this place delivered for me!

Weekend buffet was wonderful. A lot of options - mild in seasoning. Waiter said they tone down the spice on the buffet so if you like it spicy, avoid the buffet and order off the menu.

  • Chris F.

If you're in Bryant and want Indian food, this is probably the best place to go. If you're in Little Rock, you've got some better options, closer. I felt like it was a little more expensive than warranted, given what I walked out with. The food was good, but it felt like it was priced about 10% too high for the take out portion size.

Being new to the area I think we found our new "regular" place in Bryant. The tandoori chicken and seekh kebabs were fantastic! The chicken could have used more spice, but the kebabs were packed with flavor! I recommend ordering an appetizer as the service is pretty slow, the garlic naan is a great choice.

Very good, very fresh Indian food graciously, if somewhat slowly, served. Every bit as good, and maybe better, than the established Indian restaurant in Little Rock. No beef dishes (this is the real thing), but so much variety in the menu you don't miss it. Naan bread a little undercooked for our taste but very delicious food!

My wife and I love this place! Excellent Indian food the best around in our opinion and hidden away right here in Bryant! Awesome customer service as well. Definitely recommend it.

I love this restaurant. I usually get the take out a couple times a month. It's always prepared so well and you can tell they really care about their customers. I've tried others and I would say this is the best Indian food in central Arkansas.

These 5 star reviews have to be friends and family. I fell in love with Indian cuisine five years ago in a mom/pop restaurant in upstate NY. Ever since then, as a frequent traveler, I try to find authentic Indian food whenever I am in the mood for it, which can be up to twice in one week. I have had the best of the best and the worst you could think about. New York is a prime destination for great Indian food, in second place after that is California. I have had some passable in betweens and some horrific excuses as well. THIS place is horrific to say the least. I do not know where exactly to start; so I will just dive in... There is no way they use authentic Indian spices. This food tastes like the chef stopped in a Kroger store and purchased everything he needed. The "tandoori" chicken was salted HEAVILY, and that about sums up what the chicken tasted like. I doubt it even touched a tandoori pot. The rice had to be microwaved, or maybe the 'chef' hadn't the slightest idea how to properly prepare basmati rice. The tikka masala sauce was all firey heat and not much actual flavor. So, let's call it sloppy joe sauce with a twist. Another almost laughable (if it weren't so sad and insulting) problem, you do not get bread with your plate o' fire, no no no, you must pay for that side bread. I have never ever had to pay for bread in any Indian establishment across this country. Extra bread, maybe. But NEVER the initial side bread. My favorite is poori and they wanted 3 American dollars for that. I am not even certain they had the proper pots and stoves to even go back inside to pay that much for some bread that was not going to be a sandwich of any kind. I have been to white tabled clothed Indian places and received bread as a part of my meal. The whole meal was like a non-Indian tried to make Indian food for the first time. So.....? Never going back there to waste 13 bucks and you shouldn't either.

I am neither friend nor family, but a traveler on my way from Austin, TX to North Carolina. As someone who is from the UK, I have enjoyed a lot of good Indian food, and I have tried many Indian restaurants in the US, but none have come anywhere near the quality and flavor of the food from Desi Den. We, my husband, son and I enjoyed the complimentary spicy papadums with a tasty raita and two other sauces, and followed these with the pakora, which were light, crisp and flavorful. I next chose a vegetable Korma, with a delicately, omg delicious sauce and lots of crisp veggies. My son had the chicken tikka masala, which he also pronounced the best ever and my husband devoured his sheekh kebab. The rice wasn't sticky as is often the case with Basmati rice, but light and fluffy, complimenting the rich sauces perfectly, and the garlic and bullet naans we ordered were as good as a naan can get. As we had struck gold so far, we decided to share a Gulab Jamun and Kulfi Badam and were not disappointed, these again being authentically delicious. Despite being full, we wished we had ordered one each! Service was friendly and very swift which, since we were hungry after a long drive, we appreciated. I will definitely be back if I am passing through Bryant again and count the locals as very lucky to have a restaurant of this quality on their doorstep.

This place is great. We tried out the lunch buffet that is only available Fri-Sun. The selection was much more limited when compared to Little Rock restaurants like Taj Mahal but the quality was amazing. I'm not a huge fan of Indian food (take it or leave it), but this place is great - best Naan bread I've ever eaten.
