Far too thick to be true NY pizza, but probably the best attempt at it in the area anyway. When I run out of the pizza I have shipped from home I eat there. One thing they do right is offer pizza by the slice. That's what all NY/NJ pizzerias do and it should be illegal not to!

I think I'll give Johnny Brusco's another chance before reviewing them.

We had been to Johnny's before and ordered pizza. We loved the pizza so we have returned a few times for pizza and calzones. We have dined in and ordered take-out.Their good food is based on a wonderful marinara sauce. On one occasion we dined in for the lunch specials. The server was new so she was clueless as to what was on the menu. I had to show her what we were ordering on the menu. Overall, she was a terrible server. She was not attentive at all. I had to track her down for beverage refills, checking on our order, returning an item, and getting our bill. Another server did pick up the slack. It took approximately 25 minutes to get our order even though we were the only new diners in the restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the Johnny's Italian Special Calzone, which was not a lunch special. It comes with their tasty marinara sauce. It was a fairly large calzone that was filled with lots of cheese, meats, and veggies. I did order a meatball sub with chips and a beverage. I was very disappointed with the sub. When I cut into the meatballs, they were frozen inside. I tracked down another server and returned the sub. After some thought, I went up to the cook and asked for a calzone instead. I could see that he was putting frozen meatballs into a pot of sauce. That surprised me as I had the impression the meatballs were freshly made. Nope. Now I know why the meatballs were frozen. I did have to take the calzone to go as time was obviously not on our side. I will say that they comped the calzone when we paid the bill. I have ordered the calzone to take out a few times since then. Truthfully, I didn't want to have to deal with the poor dine-in service. Consistency seems to be an issue with the size of the calzones but they are always yummy. We have also ordered pizza to take-out. Love that sauce! Johnny Brusco's is our go-to restaurant for the best pizza and calzones in town.

Just tipped the delivery driver $3 for 1 pizza. Got a huff and a loud door slam. Last time we ordered took 2 hours to be delivered and told we wouldn't be charged. Guess what, we did get charged. No more orders from us. Terrible service. Owners, feel free to contact.

I come here all the time for a mid day beer. It's just okay. Don't expect New York style pizza.

Very good calzones but haven't tried anything else but we will be back to try other things. Service was good and wasn't rude

We've ordered from here quite a few times but almost always for pickup or delivery. Their pizza is thin, New York style with a sweet marinara sauce. Its decent. My family loves the chicken bites, especially with BBQ or buffalo sauce for dipping. The bruchetta is very yummy and loaded! We've recently had subs - chicken parm and steak and cheese. Both were toasted and delicious. Service is OK and it feels a little pricy for what it is, but a decent meal when you're looking for fast, Italian.

Great staff, good food! Wouldn't recommend it if you're in a hurry but if you have the time to wait for perfection no better place to do it than here! Try the garlic knots!

This is the best place for NY style pizza in NWA. However if you want the best taste, I would not recommend by the slice, order a whole pie. The calzones and Strombolis are awesome anytime.

Johnny Brusco's is not bad...and I'm borderline feeling bad for giving a 2, but in reality, I've experienced better. I would rate it a solid three if they were not so bold in claiming "New York Style Pizza" in all their marketing/packaging. This is NOT thin crust pizza. Not even close. It is good hand tossed style crust. If you're nearby and need some pizza in your life, it will fit the bill. But it's not NY/NJ style. And yes, haters, I've had the real deal! :)

Hadn't been here in awhile...they've remodeled! Looks really nice inside and they now have a separate bar area seating that is almost done. I am still a fan of the Greek salad with lots of feta and oil/vinegar dressing and a simply 4 cheese slice of pizza very tasty. Fabulous service. The owner was out a couple times to check on us and his daughter was our waitress. Great and friendly people.

My company ordered pizza from here for lunch. We had a variety of pizzas ordered - I don't know what's what since the concierge/admin ordered it. The pizza was pretty good. I tried a slice that looked to be a supreme and it was tasty. I also tried another one with mysterious big flakes on it (not sure what it was) and that was tasty. Salad is average. Overall decent pizza. I like the variety of pizza and I love the crust. Coming from a person that doesn't like crusts on pizza..it's a first. This crust was soft and a bit chewy..not crunchy. Just the way I like it.

I enjoy this place. Friendly service and the owner/managers are very attentive in making sure that your experience is good. I like the pizza, but adore the Calzones. Strombolis have been big hits with friends, as have the subs. I personally think the salads and pasta entrees are only ok - I don't know if the marinara is too sweet or exactly what makes it a little off, but both lasagna and baked ziti were only average. A few beers and wine by the glass, some desserts, and free Wi-Fi wrap up the offerings.

Walked in at 7PM, placed my order and had my drink served by 7:02. Small Greek salad had plenty of feta and black olives, with NO brown lettuce. Calzone came out minutes later and was stuffed generously. This was my first visit but I will come back.

Still the best NY style pizza in NWA. It took about 25 minutes to get it today... And it's cold in here. But the pizza is good! I usually order by the slice.

I was staying at Wingate by the airport for several days with a group of nine for work and the group decided to order in. We chose Johnny Brusco's. We ordered three hours prior to the time we desired delivery since it would be a large order. The group ordered a subs, calzone, pizza and salads. Based on our order arriving 30 minutes after our requested time and the majority of the group's food be cold we give two stars.

I have been in Bentonville the last couple of days, and since I am a self-anointed pizza expert, I decided that I better try some Northwest Arkansas pizza. I stopped here and I was not disappointed! I found the pizza to be very tasty and the crust was great, although maybe a bit too thick, but for New York style pizza, it doesn't exactly measure up to Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, but it is close enough for Arkansas! The folks here were real nice and I am glad I stopped in. Good pizza and great service. Can't beat that!

I read about this place here and thought it would be a good quick pizza place with decent pizza. Part of the problem could have been the hour I went, as it was 9pm on a Tuesday when I arrived. I was exhausted and needed something VERY quick, so I saw they still had slices. I ordered 2 slices and they took a bit of time to heat, took them home to my hotel only to find the pizza was EXTREMELY under cooked. It needed at least 5 more minutes in the oven, the cheese wasn't completely melted in the middle of the pizza/first bite. And then the crust had a great crispy crust, but I'm wondering if it would have been edible had the pizza been cooked all the way. I'm saddened to think people think this is a "good" pizza, as even if it WAS cooked I would hardly say this is even a "decent' pizza and that's 1 step below good in my mind.

OK Jersey Girl in AR, I see NY Style Pizza advertised so of course I am curious. First time there I had the sausage and pepper stromboli and to my surprise it really wasn't bad at all, actually pretty damn good. Didn't have any more room to try the pizza tho. Second trip there my plan was all about trying the pizza BUT when I get there I decide to go for the Lasagna, I know, I know what Jersey girl orders lasagna in the middle of Arkansas?!! I have to confess it was one of the best lasagnas I ever had, "almost" better than my own. The service was outstanding and even the salad and garlic bread were better than most. No doubt I will be back here when I am in AR again!!

My Brother family and myself went over to eat for dinner. We got a quick seating and the server was hospitable and knew her menu very well. The salad presentation was simple, the cucumber were cut thick and the red onions as well. The Pizza taste awesome. The waiter was responsive with beverages service. I recommend this place for Dinner.

I had been to JB after 2.5 years and found the pizza pathetic.. seemed stale and uncooked..

Tried to order here, as I'm at the hotel by the airport. The gal nicely told me it was an ADDITIONAL $10 delivery fee on top of the order (plus tip). "Yeah you are outside of our normal delivery area". Are you freakin' kidding me? Not a $10 minimum order... But an additional charge. Crazy. No thanks. I'll find somewhere else Wow.

The pizza is ok, but calzones are great. The service is the problem. They are very slow. They often make mistakes which slows down the process further. Don't eat here if you're in a hurry.

Every time I've been here, I always forget how terrible and slow service is! When I say terrible I mean 1.5 - 2 hour lunches for a pizza....not to mention they forgot our order one time! The entire place cleared out before we got our food. Also I'm from NYC and this is not NY style pizza. Where's the oregano? The crust should be thinner. Also the owner wears a Red Sox hat? Cardinal sin to a NY Yankee fan If you do eat here the meats are yummy.

  • Leo C.

In the times I have been there the service was not the best that I expected, it seems that the waitresses need some training and also I rather have a slice of pizza baked, instead of a piece ready to have sauce and other meats put on and microwaved

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
