Now this is where you go if you want to get some of the best fried catfish that one can find in this area. I love this place I think every time we visit AL it is the same people working and the food is consistent. Once you walk inside you feel like you are at a Cracker Barrel but with a homier more welcoming less busy feel. The food is fantastic and I have never heard anyone complain about what they ordered. When we go to this part of Alabama to see my husband's grandma this restaurant is a must.

My husband and I have driven by several times on our way to the Harley dealership. The waterwheel next to the building always caught our eye. It needs to be worked on, the volume of water is what self-propels the wheel. For some reason there is a diverted water source shooting over the top of it. We stopped once and ate zero times. When we walked in, looked at the buffet in the doorway, dark lighting and drab interior we turned on our heels and double timed it to the car. Recently, my husband tagged along with friends, on a road trip to the Harley dealership and was treated to lunch. The lunch happened to be here. My husband has had the beef tips at Taylor's Escape in Corinth and enjoyed them, so he assumed it would be a good bet to eat them here. One friend ordered the cranberry cooked pork chop. Several minutes after placing their order, an employee walked to the dry-erase board and removed the beef tips. My husband assume he is getting the last of them. Minutes go by, the waitress reappeared with news that they don't have beef tips. She didn't get it out good when a haggard lady walked up and proclaimed, "oh, we got beef tips, but they look like somebody already chewed 'em up and spit 'em out. I ain't servin' 'em." The waitress looked at her and told her, "don't say it like that!" She then turned and asked if they'd like to order something else. Still reeling from the image of the low-quality beef tips, my husband could only manage to mouth, "a cheeseburger with mustard and onion and fries". When the burger and fries arrived, it was subpar by all means. The bun, the size of a Sonic Drive-in bun, the patty was the size of a hockey puck, were by no means a perfect burger marriage. The patty wasn't mashed during cooking and as a result, there was "bun overhang" of 3 inches all the way around. The fries, described as "wet and soggy", remained uneaten. The friend that treated the lunch has eaten here multiple times and liked it, so ....... to Each Their Own. This may have been the "off day".

I've seen awesome reviews and awful reviews. I have eaten there twice and been dissatisfied. However, I could not hazard a guess as to how many times we have eaten there and the food was WONDERFUL. The bad meals were several years ago, and in a short span of time, and I think that, as all places do, they were probably going through training a new employee. That said, that was 2 not-good meals out of COUNTLESS meals eaten there. Service is EXEMPLARY. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing.

Oh I don't know what the people before me were thinking when they wrote their reviews but I think this is the WORST dining establishment I have ever set foot in ... When we walked in the place smelled of old people. There is a football field of smells that I would describe between the antique country quaint of a cracker barrel and the smell of death and decaying food or people that wafted through the air of this restaurant. I was appalled to say the least. My first warning was my grandmother stated that she would come visit but she wouldn't eat because she lived nearby and had a bad experience at this place before... the first thing to touch my tongue? their watered down not so sweet sweet tea... I ordered the vegetable plate thinking... it's the south... I've been to cracker barrel enough times... and my own kitchen to know that it's hard to mess up mac n cheese and hashbrown casserole... BOY WAS I WRONG... Mac n Cheese came out a brownish goo... that tasted like someone burnt easy mac and gave me the bottom remnants of the batch... the hasbrown casserole.. was WHITE GOO... with specks of yellow cheese... there was no taste..... the creamed corn was decent for something you defrost and microwave... cornbread was dry.... the okra had no spice to it... my brothers chicken fingers had the after taste of old food... I've never been so disappointed in comfort food... the service however... was great

Sitting down in a restaurant in the Scenic Alabama Landscape is a treat in itself. Did I mention that Tuscumbia is the birth place of Ms Helen Keller? The walls are donned with wonderful little tid bits of history and the wait staff is pleasant and kind. The food was moderately priced and they have a great little gift shop up front. The food was superb and the baby back ribs fell off the bone!!!!! All the locals love it and So do I
