When I go into get coffee in the morning I like to be greeted with upbeat and friendly staff and so I would say this location did a good job at that. The only reason I could not rate it 5 stars is bc I really hoped there would be a drive thru. The service was fast, quality and fresh coffee. I tried the cherry oat bar this morning and I would get it again. It wasn't too rich it had good texture and the lady was so kind to warm it up for me. Will go back to this location next time I am in the area

Since this location is in a large strip mall, there is plenty of parking. Along with the indoor seating there are a handfull of tables out front and on the side of the building in case you need some fresh air. There were tons of students inside quietly studying and writing. It seemed to be a pretty mature and respectful crowd. The interior was very clean and I had my coffee, pre-made salad, and fruit cup in under a minute. The salad and fruit cup were very good and tasted very fresh. My only complaint would be the price. It was just over $14 for those three items. That's not outrageous, just a bit more than you'd expect for a small lunch.

I see a lot of negative comments, mostly about the poor service or overcrowded atmosphere. Unfortunately, it's the only Starbucks other than the one on the university campus or at target so crowding is going to be a given. Other than that, they've gotten my order right every time. It's just your typical Starbucks.

Pretty average. The lines are long like any Starbucks and unfortunately, the weariness shows on some of the baristas faces. Most days they are friendly but it only really takes one unhappy barista to ruin your day. I know that calling ahead to pick up a coffee traveler is advised but sometimes I feel like bringing coffee for co-workers when I drive by the store. I don't mind waiting if there is a long line (my fault because I didn't call ahead) but the snarly attitude is what gets me. Try not to ostracize me in public since I don't do that when you don't give me enough room for cream in my cup. I come here because parking is convenient but I've discovered that Panera on the other side of Midtown Mall has more friendly and accommodating staff. Besides, their breads and pastries are better than the dry sponges Starbucks offers.

When I visited this Starbucks, the baristas were not friendly at all. They were placing the customers orders on the counter & letting the customers sort out who's coffee was who's. It's unfortunate that this is the only one in the area. The staff's morale seems very low.

For the price of the coffee and the drinks you charge someone should come out here and clean the tables

This location of Starbucks is in a really nice, upscale shopping area, Midtown, in central Tuscaloosa. The staff here is not only friendly, but they're very fast. They have a little bit of outdoor seating, as well as indoor seating. The tables and such inside are commonly taken up by students, studying and listening to music. They always seem pretty packed. Today I went in, and for the first time in my many visits, I was able to get a table and actually sit down. I know all the Starbucks used to charge for their wireless, then they went to 2 hrs of free wireless if you use a Starbucks gift card, and now they simply offer wireless free. That's great for those of us who desire wireless, but it's bad in that students and others very often "camp out" at tables and take up all the seats. I guess it's a catch-22 for the location. In any event, this is definitely a nice, bustling location in a great location.

This location is the worst in Tuscaloosa. Always overcrowded and since they have stopped writing the customers name on the cups and started using a labeling system, someone has picked up my order by mistake and I have done the same. I Will NEVER return to this location. Will stick with Heritage House from now on!

They have messed up my order almost every single time I've come. When I ask them to fix it they get annoyed and short with me. Not going here anymore.

I've been to a buttload of Starbucks locations and this one is one of poorest, unfortunately. Three visits to this place and they only managed to get some of the drinks right at least once. Not too impressive. Having said that, the employees are friendly and do their best to help, but the order accuracy and quality are not there.

This is one of my frequents in Tuscaloosa due to the nice atmosphere, good coffee and proximity to other businesses. It's not the best Starbucks I've been in but it's a solid place to grab a drink, and lay down some work on the laptop. I'd give it a 4 star rating, but it's always a bit dirty and disorganized due to the high number of Alabama students coming in. They may consider sending someone out from time to time to wipe down the tables and give the place a once over.

This place is like any other starbucks, except the people who work here are SO GREAT and nice. Seriously.

For being the only REAL Starbucks in town (the other two are in Target and in the UA Ferguson Center, respectively), this place is small. And, again, for the only Starbucks in town, how can there not be a drive-thru?!

There is sometimes a pretty long line between 8am-8:30am on a Monday morning, but they serve as fast as they can. No complaints.

So I have been to Starbucks in over 30 states and 10 countries but this one in Tuscaloosa, their only Starbucks in town, has the most BEAUTIFUL crowd I have ever seen! I can't focus on my work. haha. The baristas are extremely kind and a nice change from the San Francisco transexual barista. The store has a substantial open seating area with towering windows facing the mall and shrubs for a nice observationary post. Overall I would say this is better than the rest!

Being from Seattle, I'm a big fan of the Coffeehouse culture. Well, I'm surprised that in a city with such a large university there aren't some more local coffeeshops. But that being said, this Starbucks is really the only semblance of any kind of coffeeshop in all of Tuscaloosa. The baristas here are always SO friendly! The guys behind the register are also really friendly, never had a bad experience. Yes, it can get packed at times, but I've never had a problem finding a place to study and work. The inside isn't super big, but there is a good mix of comfy chairs. work tables etc. There are a few outside tables as well. Parking is easy. After living in Miami and Seattle it's so nice to not have to battle for parking spots! Overall, in a city desperately in need of some more local coffee houses, this Starbucks is my go to spot, and while my wallet doesn't like it, it's the best coffee in town and a good place to take a break, chat with a friend or get some work done.
