I like this OG! Many people don't but I actually do. I'm Italian and I think the breadsticks and salad is amazing. The eggplant Parmesan is on time! The tour of Italy speaks to everyone's heart. Thank you for a wonderful atmosphere and great service.

The only reason they got one star is because it's the least amount I could leave.... First I took 20 minutes before we could even get a drink order and another 10 min before we got them... My date and I ordered the pick two appetizer calamari and mushrooms ... The waitress brings just the calamari out and I ask about the mushrooms and she says she forget them... I ask to have them taken off the bill she says fine... (More about this later) An hour and a half later our food finally arrives and I'm just ready to go we get the check and I see where my appetizer was still $9+ the same as the pick two I ask and the waitress says she just rang us up for a whole order of calamari which is the same price as the pick two!!!!!!! There was maybe 15 total ppl in here and that should have been a hint seeing how it's was Saturday... Everyone in our section was mad complaining and managers were coming bringing coupons... The worst place I've ever been and it's not even close!!!!!

What can I say. As a chain, they are getting really good at preparing frozen food. The thaw on my fettuccine was fantastic. But that's not saying much. As an individual restaurant, it was middle of the road.

Most people who have completely given up on life eat at Taco Bell. Not me; I go to Olive Garden. Today I went by myself and brought a textbook so I could study. Even with my expectations at rock bottom, this particular Olive Garden still managed to disappoint me. I ordered some kind of citrus chicken with mixed vegetables. The "vegetables" were a mass of the same red onions they put on the salad, two slices of zucchini, and a bunch of yellow bell peppers, all overcooked. Right away, I was offended. It smelled bad. The "citrus glaze" on the chicken tasted like a cocktail of chemicals. It was worse than a Michelina's microwave dinner. In lieu of salad, I ordered a bowl of minestrone, which was salty enough to mummify a small animal. I made an honest attempt to eat it and gave up. I sent the entree back and ordered an appetizer to replace it. Squishy, chewy mushrooms, over-salted calamari, and fried zucchini with no marinara sauce. Ugh. Strike three. At that point, I just wanted to finish my homework and leave. Nothing was hitting the spot. My server was really nice and obviously knew how disgusting the food was. She kept giving me this look that said, "Yeah, I know it's bad. Sorry, but there's nothing I can do." When I sent the chicken back, she wasn't the least bit surprised. Also, the wait times on my food were absolutely ridiculous. WARNING: If you exit through the door in the cafe, it will set off an alarm. I learned this the hard way. I'm sure there's a sign that tells you that, but I didn't notice it. I think the preservatives in OG's microwave nightmare food impaired my vision. So I walked out and left behind a piercing, shrieking noise that perfectly matched the existential shrieking in my soul. Olive Garden has officially reached a new low. If you're not already depressed when you arrive, you will be when you leave.

Definitely improved but a very long way to go. I usually get the feeling that I'm imposing on them by being there. Aloof. Good is OK if you can find a server who understands the menu--which is rare. I go for the salad. Once I found a wait person who knew what antipasti is -- or are. Since then -- no luck.

My latest visit reminded me why i usually choose to drive to Hoover for Olive Garden. We watched wait staff in a cluster for 20 min, then someone finally came to take our beverage order. We were served burned breadsticks and told more would be forthcoming when they came out of the oven. They were out of rasberry tea. When my entree finally came, it was room temperature. We arrived at 11:30 on a Thursday and ordered off the "pronto" lunch menu. While the waitress was polite and efficient once she waited on us, it was an overall horrible experience. Especially for the cost. Bad management.

Giving 5 stars because of such improvement since last two times. First a nightmare. Waiter missing for smoke breaks. Second time with our college kids. Slow service. This time short wait. Marely was sweet. Quick. Attentive. And food came quickly. This time manager came around to see how things were. Thanks!

We went to Olive Garden during Superbowl to have some quit time. Well the waitress was as dry as the breadsticks. The salad was good as always but the entree (taste of Italy) was served room temperature warm:-( , pasta was overcooked and with no or almost no seasoning . I couldn't eat more than 10% of the food. I cannot recommend this place unless they may exchange the cook.

My husband and I had lunch here this afternoon. First of all, it was about 80 degrees inside. There was a 15 minute wait for a table so we decided to sit in the bar. The table wasn't wiped off and it took quite a while for someone to come over and clean it. Our server finally came to take our drink order after about 15 minutes. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. That was okay. We both ordered the soup and salad. Finally, after another 15 minutes or so our salad came. No soup. When the soup did come (minestrone), it was not hot and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. There was one person behind the bar but he pretty much just stood around drinking iced tea. He looked at us several times but made no attempt to take even our drink order. There were only two other tables with customers in the bar. Very disappointing. I was looking forward to the soup on a rainy day of Christmas shopping.

Yummy, fluffy garlic breadsticks. Delicious iced tea. Fresh, crisp, salad. Delicious lasagna and Alfredo. Too much to eat it all! Staff are warm, friendly and accommodating with a smile. Will definitely be back!

Once upon a time this place was great! Over the years it has become less and less appealing. Recently I has the urge to try it again. Bad choice. The salad was drenched with dressing and the breadsticks were less then flavorful and a bit on the hard side. The service was extremely slow. I aged one year waiting for the check. The pasta tasted (strong word because it didn't really have any real flavor) most likely came from the microwave. I can't say this for sure but that's what it tasted like. Unfortunately the day of great corporate Italian food has ended. Let's all now our heads in sadness and remember the times it was awesome.

This was the worst experience- I cringed that my husband & I spent $40 for dinner. Where do I start...??? 1. Waiter took about 15mins to greet us & take our drink order 2. When he did show up he smelled like cigarettes (clearly he was on a smoke break) 3. He was slow to refill drinks, bread sticks &salad. 4. We got there at 7:30 pm, around 8 pm they were starting to clean the booths next to us... This included hand rolling carpet cleaner & pulling out the booths to wipe them down. The people at the booth next to us felt the same way as us. I saw the manager was encouraging his staff to do this. Clearly the manager is as clueless as his staff!!! My husband going to call & complain to the general manager. Again save your $40- go to Delpamas (sp?) or Mellow Mushroom.

Have been there a few times and have noticed the host/hostess usually takes a few minutes to realize there's someone waiting to be seated-- they'll be hanging out by the bartender or somewhere else. That's fine, just a little awkward. My real issue is I go to Olive Garden ONLY for the bottomless soup and salad-- yet every time I've been for this, lunch or dinner, the waiter/waitress tries to rush us out as soon as possible. They bring 2 bowls of soup without stopping and asking if we want anything different, don't refill our salad, and then they bring the check. The bowls of soup, especially the zuppa, are not very deep-- so it isn't outside the realm of possibility that we would want more than two bowls. Especially considering the price jump at dinner. I get wanting to get rid of a table as soon as possible if its ticket is on the cheaper side, but why even offer unlimited soup and salad then?

Service was friendly and helpful in recommending items from the menu when I had a question. Food was delivered quickly and was great.

The Tuscaloosa Olive Garden was a frequent stop for my wife and I on special occasions. It's a nice chain restaurant with tasty food and generous portions, amiable service, and pleasant ambience. A great choice is to split an entree in order to save room for a taste-testing of the dessert list, which is irresistably scrumptious!

If you've been to one Olive Garden you've been to them all. Most of the time the food was ok, and the service was ok. Except this one time. My date, myself and another couple waited 45 minutes to sit down because the hostess failed to write our name down or some similar lack of attention. That should have been a warning. We finally sit down, and the waitress takes our orders and we wait. And wait. And wait. Finally after over an hour we see food. 2 hours from the time we gave our name until food landed on the table. It was free. It was also cold. I think we got gift cards so that next time we'd get free meals, but I don't recall there being a next time.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
