When we arrived with a party of 36, (yes, that's right, we are those people) staff was welcoming and made it possible for all of us to sit near each other. We appreciated it tremendously as this was a significant family event. Service was excellent and food was exactly as ordered for all!

I've wanted to try this place for a while, mainly because the exterior is so attractive, and it appears to always have a full parking lot. I was pleased to find that the interior is equally as attractive. I was quickly seated and ordered queso fundido, which I always regret, because the cheese is always tough and chewy and the chorizo is a little greasy. My meal arrived at about the same time as my appetizer. I ordered four enchiladas, substituting chorizo for the chicken. Sadly, these were among the worst enchiladas I've ever had. The red sauce tasted very much like a mixture of barbecue sauce and spaghetti sauce. It was ghastly. I barely finished my food. The fried ice cream was good, but it's good everywhere. Overall, this was a nice atmosphere, and I might try it again, but I definitely will not order the enchiladas. There is an outdoor patio that looks like a great place to kick back with a margarita. Three stars for the aesthetics and service; one star for the food.

I would rate this place a 5 star, because the food amd service from our waitress was great! However, It was my husband's birthday and I specifically told another waitress on the way to the restroom to pass it along to our waitress that I wanted the birthday treat, which is the song, the sombero hat, and the Flan in the plate and the whip cream in the face! Not a thing happened! I know she understand it all, she even knew which waitress was ours. Either she forgot to tell her or our waitress may have forgotten. I guess I'll never know but I was very DISAPPOINTED!

The food is good but the servos is terrible. I have been here twice to listen to music on the back porch and both times Serbia was slow. I won't be back. BTW, invest in some misters, it summer in South Alabama!

I hate to give this place such a bad review because b the food isn't bad. I arrived at 5 p.m. for dinner, they're was maybe 20 patrons in the place but the host sat me at a table in the bar area. The bartender was the most impersonal waiter ever. I had to flag down other waiters to get refills, place my order ( he was attentive and dropped off my bill without saying a word), I had to flag someone else down to get desert. .and once again to get my updated bill. ..and then to pay. ...even thou I was seated almost directly in front of this guy. Won't happen again!

Great food and amazing service! Stopped in for a late dinner. We got a little worried because the parking lot was almost empty. But we were promptly greeted by a very friendly staff. Our waitress (Haley) was very helpful in answering any questions and even suggested some items. People in my group were drinking and they all loved their mixed drinks. A corona rita and a mojito. The food came out fast and was great. Definitely worth stopping in.

If you check my list of reviews, you'll see that I wrote one for the other location in Mobile. It didn't get a glowing review. This one though, thankfully, is a serious improvement. The problem at the last one was the staff. They were glaringly neglectful. Not so here. The staff was right on top of things, friendly and very helpful. We've now eaten there twice and have been very happy with it both times. The food is just amazing! The combination meals, called Las Favoritas del Caporal (I'm no Spanish expert but it probably means something like Leading Favorites as the literal translation is "The Favorites of [the] Foreman") are loaded with food. My favorite combo is simply known as "B". The lunch menu (served from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM) prices range from $6.25 to as much as $12.95 with the average price being between $7.00-$8.00. The dinner menu prices range from $7.50 to $14.95 with the average price being between $8.00-$9.00. The architecture, like the other one, lends an authentic looking atmosphere so the ambiance is fun. The bathrooms are very clean and overall I really love this place. Hopefully it will stick around as this will be my favorite Mexican restaurant for now.

Have been there twice. Always give a place 2 chances. Worst service and food I've had in a while. We went with friends and they agreed. We won't be back. First time the waitress didn't know anything about the menu, Took forever with our drink orders. Even though we were sitting 10 ft from the bar. The fajitas tasted like bar-b-que sauce. Second time the waiter was an ass. He acted like we should be waiting on him. Warm beer, dry and cold food. Don't wast your money. Although most of the mexican places in Mobile are avg. at best. This is the worst. Also their place on Schillinger is not much better.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
