This place is great. I've got many things on the menu over the last few years, and they are usually really good. The green sauce is probably some of the best I've ever had, and I really like the chimichanga. Lunch is also a great deal.

This isn't authentic mexican food, it is tex-Mex but it's really good! Service is great! Fast service as well. Friendly bilingual staff. Real clean place too. I give it 5 stars.

A friend visited us and we didn't want to drive into Florence to eat at Rosie's... so we decided to try a place in town... As soon as we walked in, we were taken to a table by a host. The decor was full of Mexican culture. Lighting wasn't too intimate. It wasn't overly loud, however you could hear the tables around you if you turned on your radar. I would recommend some queso to eat with the chips. The salsa was a little too watery and didn't have any spice to it. The menu was overly large... menu items just differ by a vegetable and have a whole name for it. I settled with a Steak Mexicano. The portion was perfect. I was not offered an option on how well done I wanted it cooked but it was well and it was good. I had a Corona Extra to go with my dinner. They served it draft instead of a bottle. BTW there is no bottle recycling in Alabama. You pay up front... I wish we had more attention from our waitress, but I felt the service was ok. I would definitely bring another visitor here. Although I don't know what is "Real Mexican", it tasted alright to me :)

The best Mexican food in the area by far. I love the staff and the good is always made to perfection. I never get sick of the chicken and mushroom fajitas and the cheese dip. Keep them busy and visit often.

The best Mexican food in Russellville. Friendly, professional staff and a consistently wonderful meal every time. We eat here at least once a week!! I highly recommend the shrimp nachos, fiesta chicken bowl, and of course, the fajitas. But everything is good (even the sweet tea, which is unusual at a Mexican restaurant for some reason.)

Just stopped by traveling home from vacation with some friends. We yelped restaurants along our route and found El Patron. Very clean, staff was great and food was very good. The menu options were the best I've ever seen in a Mexican restaurant. Would definitely recommend to eat there!!!

I've now been here twice, the good food and super-friendly service were consistent with my first visit. This time I tried the Chori Pollo which is a flattened chicken breast that is grilled and topped with cheese sauce and chorizo. What a wonderful flavor combination! The reason it's on my Top 100 Dishes to Try list: Chori Pollo

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
