Healthy Meal suggestions for Outback Steakhouse

We live locally and tonight decided to give Outback our annual "second chance" to see if things might have improved since we were last here. Sorry to say if anything, it has gotten worse! Whoever owns this franchise has to be the cheapest person on earth. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, if you want sweetener for your tea you have to request it, they ask you which kind and then bring a few packets. They at least do bring bread now--last time you had to ask for it, too--but only about a teaspoon of butter was included. They have replaced the pewter plates on wooden trenchers with square plates about 6 to 8 inches big. I ordered the dinner portion of ahi tuna with steamed veggies. When it arrived there were 8 small slices of tuna, a small spoonful of rice and the veggies. Let me say here that I have very often in the past gotten the appetizer ahi tuna as my meal with a salad and it always included considerably more pieces than this "dinner" portion, which is a good bit more expensive. I pointed this out to our server and she offered to have "more pieces cut", which I agreed to. When she brought them, they were cold and obviously from the appetizer menu. Maybe it's just me, but if you are offering grilled tuna as an entree shouldn't that be a PORTION of tuna and not a few slices from a cooked portion?? This Outback is poorly run and cutting corners on their customers...I've eaten at their restaurants all over the country and have yet to find one run as miserly as this. Do yourself a favor and give this one a miss!

I'm at the the Outback Steakhouse in Prattville and me and my family were seated 30 minutes before the table next to us. So 20 minutes or so later, their food comes out and they are enjoying their meal. Meanwhile, we're still waiting. The server was pleasant and attentive, but our food finally arrived a full 25 minutes after the table next to us. Not an experience that will bring us back here at all.

I love the Outback Steakhouse in Prattville! Service and food is always great! I make it a point to take my family once a week. It's nice to dine at a place that cares and makes your experience enjoyable.

We had a very attentive and outgoing server, with an artsy name. I ordered the 9oz sirloin, medium rare, unlimited shrimp and a strawberry-peach sangria. While the sangria had delicious flavor and was blended well, it had too much ice and foam and this made it difficult to drink. My steak was divine, well-seasoned but not aggressively and so tender and juicy. If I order this again, I would order this with the garlic butter grilled shrimp instead of fried shrimp. The fried shrimp was soggy but I think it was because of the batter that was used. The Volcano sauce that came with it was like a spicy horseradish sauce but without the horseyness, thank goodness. Overall, a good dining experience and before we go home, we're going back for lunch.

HORRIBLE!!! The waitress was nice and courtesy and that's as positive as I can be about this location. Food was slow and cold. 2 other tables received food before we did and was seated after we were. But what else can you ask for being in Prattville?

Worst experience at Outback. First, the wedge salad had about 2 cups of dressing on it. The lettuce was frozen but the plate was hot. I ordered the 6 oz filet medium well. It came out less than.medium. Also, there was a big piece of hard fat or gristle in it. I was not sure it was actually a filet. My husband had the same issues with his salad except it was not over dressed. Service was ok. All the issues were kitchen related. Very poor meal and it pained me to pay for it.

Terribly disappointing. .. Steaks dry and over cooked, service inattentive, over priced for less than mediocre food.

I just left from the Prattville Outback . Wow what a great meal. Service was great. Steak was cooked perfectly. I will be back soon for another great meal. Even met the new Managing Partner, what a treat.

They are always packed but I don't know why because the food is the worst I have had from any outback. Outbacks are usually pretty good but this one is not what you would normally expect from an outback franchise.

The service at this Outback is poor at best. The food is subpar and always over seasoned and over cooked. There is also nothing more irritating than having to wait almost forty-five minutes for a table when at least thirty percent of the tables are empty. Very disappointing!

Outback Steakhouse is continuing to decline in the quality of food served. Had a steak there recently and it was very average. Cheesecake could have been made from a supermarket cheesecake kit that a high schooler could make. Service was okay to good. The price is too high for the quality of food served. Outback will not make it for very long if they do not improve greatly soon.

Great service. My medium-rare ribeye came out well-done and then raw. The 3rd time was a charm. Managers apologized and picked up my tab. Also received a free Boomin Onion since their racecar driver came in the top ten. Get on the emal list.

Outback as a franchise is generally a good experience. This location is proof, however, that not all franchises are created equal and bad ownership matters. I'm not sure who owns this particular Outback, but they benefit off the out of town traffic playing the Robert Trent Jones trail golf course next door, without a doubt. It is a very cheaply run restaurant for the price you pay. Many things such as bread and condiments are withheld from your table unless requested and then often brought in minute amounts. Tonight we placed an order for two salmon dinners through their drive-up takeout service. What we received looked very much like one normal sized salmon filet cut into two very small strips and doled out as full portion meals. For the $16 per plate price tag, it was disappointing to say the least. It's not the first time I've re-learned my lesson on this restaurant, but as I said. The franchise has a strong name to stand behind. I wish it were in more capable hands. There isn't a large variety of dining options in Prattville and this town deserves better.

We tried this place again, and the food was even worse. Twenty minute wait for four chicken strips and about 11 fries came on another plate ten minutes later. Chicken was black, not burned, just black. Never again.

Great service reasonable prices. Great servers and barkeeps! Prime rib is best thing on menu.

My husband has been bugging me for sometime to go to Outback and get a Blooming Onion so, I decided to take him for Valentine's Day. When we arrived we were told that the wait would be approximately 20-30 minutes. The place was packed and the noise level was unbelievable! We looked around for someplace to sit and wait. The bar was full and the indoor waiting area was full as well. We finally ended up waiting (standing) outside on the porch. A waitress was coming around and taking drink orders but, never approached us to ask us if we would care for a drink. Our 30 minute waiting period came and went...it was 40 minutes before we were seated in the restaurant. The waitress came by and asked us for our drink order. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband ordered unsweetened iced tea. The waitress came back with a glass of water for me and my husbands tea. For some reason they do not keep Sweet and Low on the table so, he had to wait 10 minutes before the waitress brought him Sweet and Low. I still did not have my glass of wine. A few minutes later the waitress brought my glass of wine to me, it was then that she took our dinner order. We ordered the Valentine's Day special which consisted of a Blooming Onion, two New York Strip steaks, two salads, two fully loaded baked potatoes, and two pieces of cheese cake for $48. After about 20 more minutes of waiting our waitress stopped by to tell us that she just put our order in and that the kitchen was backed up so it would be a while before we got our Blooming Onion and did we want to go ahead and have our food. We told her that we would take our onion to go and asked her if she could please bring us our food. I then ordered a second glass of wine. The food finally arrived 40 minutes after we were seated! I asked the waitress for some A1 and she brought us a small ramekin with 3 Tablespoons of A1 in it for the two of us. Not nearly enough in my book. My husband said that his food was wonderful, my steak however was RAW! The waitress was no where to be found...my husband later informed me that she was seated at the table behind us chatting with friends. When the waitress was done hanging out with her friends she came by and asked us how everything was and I told her that my food was not edible. She offered to send it back to the kitchen, I declined. I told her that I was no longer hungry and just would like my check and my cheesecake to go. The manager came by shortly afterward and asked us about our meal. I told the manager that my food was not edible and she comped the entire meal except for the wine. I do not think that I will go to Outback again. The whole thing was just such a fiasco! This goes in my book of really horrible date nights!
