Not much to say about this restaurant. My first time was yesterday night. I ordered the teriyaki beef bento box which came with the beef with vegetables, white rice (or fried rice if you prefer), a salad (or soup), & 2 egg rolls. I was just super hungry so I ate really fast & I was satisfied. I've had plenty of other Japanese restaurants wayyyyy better but I'm originally from California where Asian restaurants in general reign supreme. So I guess I'm basing it off a more critical scale than most locals here in prattville. I would honestly rather take the trip to Montgomery to the hibachi buffet. But I'm native Japanese & I've had way better Japanese food but I know this food is geared more toward American tastes & everyone else likes it so I guess this is worthy to check out.

When I eat here, I always ask for a recommendation on what to try and they never disappoint. I had the Osaka roll tonight, it was different but very good! And the SAKE....wow!

My favorite local Sushi Bar! Try the Shaggy Dog roll! Also the Bama Crunch roll is really good. (Roll Tide!) I get takeout here a few times per month. My only complaint is that they are closed on Mondays.....

Love it. I eat here all the time. The bowls are great, teriyaki boxes are great, fresh edamame. I don't eat sushi but I like the vegetarian ones bc of allergies and they are good usually... Sometimes the seaweed is too chewy. But, I always leave happy. Their seafood sauce is awesome.

This has become our go to place for good Japanese. The staff is friendly and fast with to go or in house orders. I judge a Japanese place in part on how they do fried gyoza and coming from the DC area was skeptical I would find any that I enjoyed. I am glad to say I was wrong to worry and Love the gyoza, Hibachi bento boxes and I will order the kids chicken strip meal. They season the chicken and then tempura batter it and it is TOO good!

For a small town like Prattville, it was nice to find a good sushi/Japanese restaurant...especially after coming from a diner's Mecca like Las Vegas. Now, to be clear, does it reach those levels of awesome? Nope. But for a local place, it serves good and inexpensive sushi that tastes good. And it's also not too expensive. I do agree with some other reviewers that it'd be better if they gave a better explanation of what was in each of their speciality rolls. It's a small place, so it'd be horrible if the service wasn't prompt, so there's not much to say about that.

Sushi was good and the price was right. Had a decent lunch special while we were there. Don't know if I'll be back because we were just passing through but... This is the type of sushi place I wish I had near me. Cheap, simple, and tasty!

After seeing the reviews on Yelp, online, and speaking with a friend, my family gave Osaka a try, and we were not disappointed. The Seafood Udon was delicious, as was the Chicken Yaki Soba and children's Teriyaki Chicken. Our server was attentive, the restaurant was quiet and nicely decorated. My only concern was the temperature of the place, but it was 94+ degrees outside......that's the Deep South in the summer for you! I will definitely return to Osaka, and have already recommended to my co-workers!!!! Visit 2 - My family did take-out from Osaka, this time! They have a good thing going on there;food was ready as promised ! Two of us got the Teriyaki Chicken boxes, and the other got the Chicken Yaki Soba; not a morsel was left! And, we shared the Gyoza;the peach-colored sauce was so delicious that I used it with my entire meal! I can't wait to return, again!!!

This place serves the worst sushi I've ever had. The chef's special rolls aren't creative at all. The Bama roll is a standard roll, but it's filled with fried crumbs. No crab meat or cucumber or anything, just fried crumbs. And it's topped with a skimpy piece of salmon. When I received my dish, I had to ask for wasabi, which is strange. Wasabi is usually automatic when you're ordering sushi. I ordered shrimp tempura for an appetizer. Looked and tasted like frozen tempura you can buy from a grocery store, and it was served with some kind of thick barbecue looking sauce. Not a fan of this place. The waitress asked me if I'm from India. No, I'm not from India.

Bleh, I'm not really thrilled by my experience here. Firstly, the menu is incredibly vague when it comes to describing the rolls, just giving a laundry list of components (one came out wrapped in cucumber instead of rice with no mention at all in the menu!) The food came out very quickly, which is good, as was the waitress warning us about the size of their rolls and suggesting we downsize our order. But the actual experience of eating, the fact that everything was both super bland and swimming in thick lashings of mayo, spicy and eel sauces was a huge downer, as was the non-Japanese green tea they served.

YUM! I love sushi, but am not a big fan of rice. Osaka has cucumber wrapped sushi! Price was good, taste was fresh! The place is cute and appears clean. Staff was friendly. Don't ask for a to go drink, because they do not have to go cups.

Went here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Fresh and great quality salmon. Beef bento box was excellent with a very flavorful sauce at an excellent price. A great choice for sushi joints in Alabama. Clean restaurant. Sushi chefs use gloves! Friendly service. A much better choice for sushi when compared to choices in Montgomery.
