Healthy Meal suggestions for Ruby Tuesday

After a long drive from to Cincinnati, OH to Birmingham, AL to visit my in-laws. We were treated to a meal at Ruby Tuesday's. I cant a remember that last time I had been in one and maybe i never have but I would definitely go again. From the moment we decided to go there my heart (and stomach) was set on a burger. It's been awhile since I've had a nice juicy, buttery melt in your mouth kind of experience at a restaurant. But once we got there and saw the menu there were more tasty and tempting options like, steak and lobster tail, chicken and mushroom alfredo or Asian sesame glazed baby back ribs. The menu had A LOT of pictures and the food photography made me want to sample everything. Need to quench your thirst? They also have a great all-day, every-day selection of drinks from the bar for only $5. That's a bonus in my book so the value points keep adding to the "return visit" meter. After scouting out several options above, I stuck with what I originally had envisioned. I went with the "Triple Prime Bacon Cheddar Burger. It has to be good cause the name is trademarked right? Well, I certainly wasn't disappointed when it arrived. My only suggestion here since the bacon was thin and small would be to add a third slice. Served on what looked like a Kaiser roll (minus the poppy seeds), with fresh lettuce, mayo, a thick slice of tomato and some red onion crispy and a side delicious "endless fries" I was ready to see if this burger matched up to it's claims in the menu. Sure enough, it did. As a designer and artist I'm always evaluating the look, feel, and overall user experience when dining somewhere. Lighting, artwork, menu design, tableware all play key parts when done well. And though I'm not usually a fan of chains, I want to tip my hat to the crew at Ruby Tuesday's for creating what felt like a more upscale yet relaxed environment where you don't have to spend a lot of money and still feel like a nice night out. From the warm and friendly greeting as we entered, to the friendly waiter who has served my in-laws before, thanks for nice place to dine after a long day in the car. The only real complaint I have is that the booth we sat in felt small and didn't seem to have enough tabletop room when the food arrived. There were several larger round tables surrounded by comfortably padded chairs that I'll request to be seated in the next time we go. Quick Pro's: Nice food selection Good cheap drinks All-you-can-eat salad bar Great food photography on the menu Nice relaxed atmosphere Friendly staff Not overly noisy Quick Con's: The booth we sat in was small for four people. Their were only two slices of bacon and they were a bit wimpy. Add a third slice of bacon and make this a home run.

Sarah S. could quite possibly be the worst server I have ever come into contact with! Every time we ordered drinks she would judge us and make comments such as "I'm not responsible if y'all get a DUI or by state law I am required to ask who is driving?" Let's be honest we are at a ruby Tuesdays not a bar, if I were trying to get wasted I could have gone to the bar where the drinks were not as filled with sour mix or coke! She then proceeded to mess up with my credit card transaction and it was a total mess. She told me that it was the first time it had happened but while I was with the manager she told my friend it had happened at least five times! Words of advice don't go to this restaurant and if you do make sure not to sit in Sarah's section!

We just left this Ruby Tuesday location and it was the best Ruby's experience I've ever had! Our server, Kim was attentive, friendly and went out of her way to make our visit enjoyable. I'm a server so I am very picky about service. We are traveling through on our way to Florida and I was skeptical of eating there.. But, I'm glad we did! Our food was wonderful! Our food came out hot and fresh (& quick)! We will stop in on our way home! The manager even came to our table twice to check on us!

We chose to go here because it was close to the hotel we are staying in. We went on a Friday night and they were not busy. That should have told us something. After sitting for ten minutes they finally took a drink order. When the waitress brought out my beer, she informed me that they ran out of blue moon & were not expecting to get any in till Monday. I ordered an appetizer, when the manager brought it out, he forgot the sauces. After another ten minutes our waitress checked on us & informed us that we should have gotten sauces. The manager did compt the appetizer. All in all I'm having a hard time recommending this place. Maybe the restaurant in a whole could use a little more customer service training.

They're pretty good. Try the Thai Phoon Shrimp Their salmon is pretty great as well, but I don't like the hickory rub on it

At best 3 stars. Arrived at 6 on Friday night, not busy. Greeted and seated. Waiter at best indifferent to untrained, slow, unenthusiastic and disinterested. Saw him shooting the breeze with staff and manager when we were expecting drinks. Kitchen extremely slow to produce any food for us and surrounding tables. Garden bar was better than last visit. Food was Ok. This is our second visit in two months on a over night trip home from LBK. The experience was about the same. Next time we will try one of the local places.

I kept getting coupons for this place in the mail, so we decided to try it for dinner one Friday night. The ambience is laid back and quiet, so it's a nice place for conversation. Since I'm new to the region, I'd never heard of Ruby Tuesday before, but all chain restaurants are made from the same mold, right? That's not to say it's a bad thing though, because I really liked the food here. The spinach artichoke dip was sublime and I couldn't stop eating it. I ordered shrimp and grits and it was very good. Very flavorful, slightly spicy, and the shrimp were cooked well. If it were socially acceptable, I just may have licked my plate clean.

I ate with 3 others. Not only did the food take too long to come out, but everyone else got their food before me. My Cajun shrimp pasta from the petite menu was the last to arrive and pasta was cold and shrimp was Luke warm. DO NOT EAT HERE!

Craig took good care of our table tonight. He was friendly and professional. The food was great, the atmosphere was comfortable and the service was exceptional. We'll be coming back here again.

We returned to this Ruby Tuesday restaurant this Wednesday and got there around 9:00 PM. They close at 10:00 PM and I wanted to see how they are around closing time. There was only one other person at the bar when we got there and later another solo came in to eat at the bar. We were seated promptly by the host and waited on promptly by Brisha V. Brisha was pleasant, but I got the impression that everybody there had already left for the night. Only their bodies remained. I have a peeve with restaurants that close before they close. If you do not want to be fully open, close earlier. This brings me to another contention. Restaurants in Birmingham close too early. Our biscuits did not come until after we got our burgers although they were fresh and piping hot. We were brought the check without being asked if we wanted dessert and Brisha came to get the payment before I had a chance to put in my card. It is these little hints that the employees all want to go home that annoy me. I am not there for you. It is the other way around. I can stay home and eat. Can you stay home and make money? Now to the burgers. They and the accompanying fries were salted with a heavy hand, so much so they were not at all good. Fries were one third of the amount we had for lunch on the first visit and they were not as fresh or crisp. It looks like this is not a place to go anywhere near closing time. It is hit or miss with the food. A restaurant that wants business needs to be consistent.

Great server. Asked to substitute the new spring rolls on the sampler and the manager did so but personally came out and brought us some asking us to try them since they are new. We tried them. I don't care for spring rolls in general but my boyfriend thought they were pretty good for a spring roll. Staff were all super friendly and good came out quick and was good

This is not like any RT I've been to before. Service and food was terrible. Our server was annoying from the beginning. Instead of bringing water to the table, she immediately started pushing purchased drink options. Despite only one other occupied table in her section, she kept rushing us to order like she wanted us to hurry up and leave. The add on salad bar seemed like a nice option, but was a huge disappointment. Dry wilted lettuce options (at least there were options), near empty topping containers, limited topping options, and no fat free/low cal dressing options. Needless to say, our entrees were also a disappointment. The food had no flavor, and looked and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Honestly think we would've been better off at one of the nearby fast food options.

We had the pleasure of Dining at Ruby Tuesday in Pelham, AL tonight and meeting your GM, David Soreano. He's not just a great guy, but an awesome manager, customer advocate, and consumer friend!! Our waitress, Sarah, was also FANTASTIC. We had a great experience, THANK YOU VERY MUCH
