I've had a few different pupusa offerings, including the taco pupusa, and their platanos, pastelitos, and chips/salsa. You can communicate simply to some of the servers in english, but I always feel more comfortable having my sister translate. However if you don't speak spanish at all, you'll definitely be able to get by. These are the BEST pupusas I've had - better than Mi Pueblo or Recinos. They're fantastic and affordable El Salvadorian food and you should definitely try this place out! Be prepared to tip your waitress in cash because they do NOT let you put the tip on the card!

I had lunch with my wife today. Neither of us had been to La Libertad before. We both enjoyed it very much. My wife had two pupusas, one with pork, the other with fresh japenos. I had the Traditional Salvadorean plate, which includes marinated steak, black beans, a sort of yellow rice, and fried plantains. Everything was good, especially the steak and the plantains. Their homemade pickled cabbage is spicy and wonderful, and the fresh, thick corn tortillas are also very good. The service was excellent and friendly. I recommend La Libertad to anyone in the area who is interested in this type of food.

Delicioius hidden gem. Very small unassuming place with friendly staff that were happy to help my wife and I order as we had never had Salvadoran food before. We ordered a variety of things and they were all wonderful!

100% authentic. Like traveling to El Salvador. Pupusas were amazing. The chicharron and queso one was awesome. Spicy cabbage and tamale sauce goes great with them. The beef on the traditional Salvadorean plate was seasoned perfectly. Handmade tortillas were tasty. Seafood soup was pretty good. Nice servers

Very good food. A nice break from the Mexican foods in the area. Love the pickled cabbage served along side their meals.

This is one of those little hidden gems that you hear about. You've probably driven by this place a dozen times without giving it a second thought. If you get the chance, stop in and try it out. They have the worlds best chicken burrito and the tamales are amazing. In fact, I've never had anything bad there. This is a must if you like trying new foods!

Have passed this little restaurant several times--decided to try it today. Awesome food! The complimentary tamale was perfection--light a fluffy steamed inside a banana leaf. I had shrimp in tomato sauce. It was a little spicy and 'lick the plate' delicious. Daughter had the stewed chicken, which apparently is a traditional holiday dish, and hit every taste bud! Definitely plan to return.

The complimentary pupusa was excellent. I had the stewed chicken and the gf had a steak dish with plantains. I'm not usually big on plantains but I tried them and they were really good. The flank steak she had was good as well. Had obviously been marinating in something for a while. Lots of flavor. Same with the stewed chicken. Tasty. Friendly service. Could use some upgrades to seating lighting and decor but the food was well worth the visit and we'll be going back.
