We had a birthday lunch here a few weeks ago, it was very good! Fried oysters were perfect as well as the fried shrimp.

I was recently traveling to Bremen, GA from Destin, FL and got an fantastic recommendation for a small local restaurant along the way from a friend. Barr's offers authentic southern fried fish and shrimp at very reasonable prices. Melissa and Gabe had fried shrimp, I had the fried grouper. Both dishes came with a side and coleslaw, and the portions are VERY generous. The restaurant is just a block away from the main thoroughfare, but the locals all seemed to know where it was, as the building and parking was packed. If you are traveling through Opp, AL make this a stop, I know I will visit again since I travel through the area on occasion.

Stopped in on a road trip since it was one of the only restaurants in the area on yelp. The place was a lovely little southern diner. I was looking for fried seafood and that is what I got, in generous portions at a very reasonable price. My dining companion had the shrimp alfredo. The shrimp was great but the alfredo sauce could have had a little more flavor. Big glasses of really good tea topped it off well. Plus they had free mints at the pay counter! The people were very friendly and accommodating as well. Definitely worth stopping in if you are looking for a good meal in that area.

Looking for a non-chain restaurant for lunch. Old Town Grill was highly recommended and we saw a lot of traffic in and out. We were very satisfied. Stuffed crabs were very good as was the shrimp po-boy my wife ordered. Good hush puppies and sides. Would rate them higher but the serve Pepsi products.

Stopped here for lunch on our way back to Atlanta from Destin, FL. Read reviews and gave it a try. This place is in downtown Opp so will need to avoid the by pass. Mainly known for their fried seafood. We were not disappointed. Arrived about 15 min. Before closing for lunch time, but they welcomed us in. Staff was friendly and polite. Wife had lunch portion of catfish fried oysters and cheese grits. I had same catfish lunch with fried shrimp and baked potato. They cook everything fresh to order using their own batter which was light and not greasy at all. Overall our experience here was great. Will definitely stop in again and try some non seafood fare.
