"Downtown Montgomery hotel". This was a great hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We arrived in the afternoon on Christmas day and was greeted cheerfully by the lady at the front desk. Pre-payment made check-in a breeze. Since it was a holiday, the in-house restaurants were closed, so concierge gave us the option of pre-made lunch boxes, informed us of cookies and punch at 4:00pm and a cocktail/appetizers reception at 5:30pm - all were complimentary. They even went as far as looking up open restaurants in the area for Christmas dinner. Parking was charged to our room: self-parking for $10/day (valet for $15/day was available, too). The lobby was huge and beautifully decorated for the holidays. I loved how everything was open, including the hallways to the suites - you can overlook the lobby courtyard from the hallways balcony. There were dining tables all throughout the courtyard, with the surrounded by the relaxing sounds of indoor fountains and waterfalls. Unfortunately, I was not able to use to the indoor, heated pool and spa... tempting, but ran out of time. For workout enthusiasts, there is a gym to get your sweat on and burn those holiday calories! This was my first time staying an Embassy Suites and I have to say it was a grand experience. The suite itself was very impressive! It was super spacious... big enough to entertain a handful of guests! Oh the comforts of this suite... a living room area, a wet bar, plush beds and 2 TVs. I knew I was going to feel right at home there. Cleanliness is an important factor for me and I give this place an A+ on that factor. Some things I feel like need updating are the doors, walls, carpeting and couch. Everything about the room was perfect! In the bathroom, which had granite counters and ultra thick towels and of course, very clean! My only complaint about the bathrooms was the slow draining of toilet and bathtub... other than that, all was great. Rise and shine... it was morning time and it was time for the complimentary breakfast, which was another grand experience. My only regret about this was that we did not get up sooner to take full-advantage of enjoying my meal without the rush. We arrived down at the breakfast bar around 8:30am to find the line long, but fast-moving for the made-to-order chef station. There was a self-serve bar of fresh fruits, yogurt, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage and oatmeal. I soon got in line to order a customized veggie omelet w/ cheese and my husband the same with a waffle. The chef was working very hard to service all orders that came to the counter... he was speedy! We sat down to enjoy our meal and had a feast! It was such treat to have these yummy goods for breakfast! We had a long drive ahead of us, so we were happy to have our fill! They were even courteous, when we needed to extend our check-out time by an hour. So, check-out was again a breeze. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations and felt right at home there!

We had a wonderful stay! Our event went very smooth, food was exquisite, and everyone went above the call of duty. Definitely will book our next function here again. As a side note, Montgomery is rich with history and has beautiful architecture downtown. Loads of potential!

The manager did an amazing job of "making it right" after they read my previous review. I honestly didn't expect any response but they went out of their way to communicate with me and made sure they took care of the issues I pointed out. I would stay here again and have referred two coworkers.

The hotel room and location is nice and clean. The customer service was absolutely HORRIBLE! The front desk and parking attendants were too busy socializing to take care of guests. Our room was out of toilet paper. I spoke to the front desk and asked for a new roll at 8:00 pm. At midnight I still hadnt received a new roll. Called several times and finally by 12:30 am someone brought us some. We tried ordering room service. The phone rang and rang and no one ever picked up. We called the front desk for help and they transfered us to guest dining again no pick up we called back to the front desk and the phone would just ring. Finally about one hour later (after complaining to the front desk), we get a call back from dining to take our order. When the order arrived the food was brought without eating utensils. We called guest dining and of course no answer, we called the front desk and they transfered us to gues dining, again no answer. We tried explaining to the front desk about gues dining not answering we got cut short and transfered to dining again. When they didnt pick up I called the front desk back (given its been 15 minutes of this and the food was getting cole), and the front desk picked up the phone and automatically transfered us to dining where once again no one was there to answer. We had to walk to the front desk to complain and explain there was no one helping us and our food (steak) was getting cold. After 35 minutes and us walking down to the front desk, we were handed utensils. The rooms have microwaves so we were able to heat up our food but the frustration in this process was unnecessary. Food was good though. Everytime we walked by the front desk the workers were busy socializing with the parking attendees. When it was time to check out, the hotel said that we could call for our cars and they would have it ready for us (valet parking). We called for the car and to no surprise there was no answer. We called a few times as we packed up our things ready to check out and no answer. We assumed they were busy as people normally check out on Sundays. We walk to the front desk and the parking attendees were up at the front desk chatting away with the workers. The pool was filthy, we did not want our children in the water. The buffet is delicious. I would not recommend this hotel. It is not Embassy Suites that I wouldnt recommend its this location that I suggest you stay away from.

Standard Embassy suites with the atrium and complimentary breakfast with made to order omelets, pancakes, and French toast. My only complaint is there isn't free wifi for guests (wtf!) and you have to pay for parking. Otherwise, nice staff and the usual Embassy Suites services.

What a nice hotel, especially for the price we got it. My wife got us a wonderful rate on Priceline and we spent this past Saturday evening in downtown Montgomery. The 2-room suite was very quiet, so our little boy could sleep in the bedroom while we watched TV in the living room. For the most part, I was pleased with the presentation, the cleanliness, and the atmosphere. I do think it could be a little cleaner, especially the floors--it seems they only vacuum the immediately obvious areas--but other than that, I felt pretty good about the facilities. The pool was one of the best I've ever encountered in a hotel--a saltwater pool which was larger than most. The people were pretty friendly. One of the best parts of the hotel was the breakfast--the best I've ever had in a hotel. I definitely recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Montgomery.

Great service and love the free drinks! Very friendly staff. My only complaint - please fix the pretty fountain that surrounds the elevator!

For the most part this was an ok stay but lots of things need to improve to get more than a single star. No hot water 2 mornings... How does that happen? The breakfast was pretty good. I had a bath mat the first day but that was gone when they cleaned the room and never returned. Service was very inconsistent, someone needs to train about 75% of the staff about customer service. Also this hotel really needs to be renovated it feels old and tired.

Overall I think this place can use a serious update. Lots of dust, the linens did not feel OR smell fresh and the a/c was crazy loud (although I'm happy that it at least worked really well). The wifi was also not good at all on the 7th floor. The ES model is great for business with the full breakfast model, nice business center that doesn't charge, the usual fitness center and pool. If they made some changes and cleaned their rooms a bit more, I think they will be just fine. Pluses: The staff is absolutely amazing and I wish I could rate the staff separately from the hotel. I would give them 5 stars, especially the doorman/concierge/shuttle man, what a gem.

Horrible service, TV cable sucks. Worst experience at an Embassy suites ever. There was no heat in the room.

Overall, great hotel. Checked in and greeted by name. Location is downtown and close to everything. Being a Diamond member does have its perks in regard to free Internet and Parking. My room was large with a comfortable bed, quiet, and clean. Would recommend.

It's a nice enough hotel but the vending machines don't work for cash, the door locks don't open 70% of the time, there are like 3 outlets in your whole suite, housekeeping doesn't actually do anything and they ignore Do Not Disturb signs and wake you up yelling to eachother while you're trying to sleep. One girl at the desk was nice and the bartender Cory is super nice and super friendly. Those are the only saving graces here, really.

Best place to stay in MGM. Nice pool/whirlpool combo & gym. Watch out for the "bait and switch" at the free cocktail hour, though: there are two bars. If you go to the wrong one, they won't tell you, and will charge you for your drinks instead of accepting your coupon. The beer selection at the free bar blows, though.

Typical Emabssy Suites. Clean modern rooms with their usual breakfast.

Got woken up at 7AM by a loud piercing false fire alarm that lasted half hour. Sat on the curb outside in my pajamas in the sweltering summer heat of the dirty south. It's all bad.

Not what it was a few years ago. In major need of updating. Happy hour water down drinks, waited 20 minutes for one drink. Bar tender left a lot to be desired. Requested no smoking room ended up next door to 2 smoking rooms (wonder what my room smelled like and sorry we can't move you we are full maybe tomorrow just call and ask. "Really" corners in room have not been swept in a long time and tub drain is broken but they were nice enough to leave it on the side of the tub. Someone enjoyed something on a sesame seed bun because the couch and coffee table were still covered with them. Not impressed.

Across the street from Convention Center with a view of the new Riverwalk. I have a great view if the river and the noisy trains. Complimentary full breakfast buffet is wonderful, including full course buffet, made to order waffles, pancakes and omelets! The complimentary full bar from 5 To 7 has us lining up! The afternoon sugar cookies and lemonade makes being the Duchess of Montgomery Embassy Suites so extra special!

I would stay away from the restaurant. Billed as southern style cooking, they were essentially out of everything. The fried chicken was obviously frozen and basically tasteless. The only thing that saved the meal was the pecan pie in a mason jar.

Stayed at the Embassy this weekend as I was in town for a wedding. Although the stay started off kind of rocky, it ended very well. There was a Woodmen of the World convention this week and it appears the staff was unready as I stood in line for check in for close to 30 minutes. Only one of the three desks was manned. Once the second was manned, they didn't go by who was there the longest, it was who got to that open desk first. You can have multiple service areas, BUT you only need ONE line. The second issue is that we had to wait for a cart. No one was policing the use and I had to go up to a couple that was standing there talking with friends and "encourage" them to use the cart quickly as many of us had been waiting to use it. THAT should have been the hotel's job. After that, things were lovely. The valet overheard me say I was coming back down and had my car ready to go once I unloaded my things. I never had to show him my ticket while I was there because he remembered me. He also had a cart waiting for me when I was checking out. The room was VERY nice. I got a great deal on Priceline and it was unbelievable getting a room like that for such a great price. It was clean and everything was in great working order. It seemed that they had recently refurnished the hotel or they just keep everything in great condition. I was able to get a great night sleep on the bed and made it to the complimentary breakfast both mornings. Breakfast was great. I'm not a fan of powdered eggs, but the french toast, sausage, grits, bacon, biscuits & gravy and fresh fruit made up for that. From now on when I return to Montgomery, I will do my best to stay at this hotel. There were a lot of great establishments surrounding the hotel that I wasn't able to check out. I will next time. Thanks Embassy! Great stay.

I really loved this place...the staff was very helpful and they even changed my room type with out a problem. I was very please with the room, nice size and clean. No complaints and next time I come to town I know where I'll be staying. Well worth the price.

Nice hotel but the front desk staff was one of the rudest I have ever encountered. When I went up to the desk there were two front desk staff and a bellman standing there talking. They looked very annoyed that I was interrupting their conversation. I wand to to make sure they had my Hilton Rewards number in file. As a diamond member I was asked for the code for the wireless Internet. You would have thought I was asking for a free room. She asked for my room key jacket. When I told her I did not have she let out a discussed sigh and wrote the password on a piece of paper. It wasn't a big deal but her attitude was very not appropriate. As a diamond club member I stay at Hilton hotels almost every week and I have never had someone at the front desk treat me so rudely

Clean but old not much going on downtown and across the street is a much nicer hotel. It is still an embassy suites so there still are nice people here.

This hotel is great! As with all Embassy Suites, they have a happy hour and an amazing breakfast. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and cozy. I spent three days in row here during a winter storm and it was great! This place is definitely a favorite of mine.

Had a one-nighter there this week. Check-in was easy and friendly. I was given a large room with a meeting table with 6 chairs. The decor was not the most current but was fine. The room was relatively quiet except for the train that came by a few times. I ate dinner in the restaurant - the grouper sandwich was enourmous, and the service was good. Pretty good breakfast spread, although there was some sort of liquid in the premade scrambled eggs. While not specific to this ES, if every other coffee dispenser can figure out that the coffee should stop flowing once you let go of the handle, why can't Douwe Egbert? (I don't like the flavor of the coffee either). At least for a short-term visitor, the hotel is well-located. The river is easily accessible by an old tunnel under the railroad tracks that had been used by horses. It's next to the old train station, which is very ornate and worth at least a drop-in. The Dreamland BBQ is nearby, I didn't go there but it smelled delicious. Parking is $5 per night in the ES lot I chose to stay downtown as opposed to the Hampton Inn next to the Interstate/Waffle House, that was much closer to my client, and I'm glad I did!

Front desk was rude, short and lied to the manager when I questioned about my check-in. Overcharged for the room even after confirming that Embassy Suites had confirmed a lower price. Overall this was the worst Embassy Suites experience I was ever had in over 5 years of travel. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone even enemies...check that, enemies OK!

Wow! Why such bad reviews on here? Clearly the hotel has had a renovation in their sleeping rooms. Pros- room size was Great! Separate living area with a door to bedroom. Bedroom is away from door so you don't hear hallway noise Doors are anti- slam!!! That is awesome!!!! Housekeeping great Bathroom great especially the DRAWER at the sink! No radios heard throughout the hallway. Staff overall very nice...seriously one of the housekeepers was super nice! Housekeeping spoke actual English! Nice hot water Fridge/microwave 2 flatscreen TVs...not sure why they havent updated the website. Comfy beds and pillows Front desk guy nice Banquet staff very nice and spoke English Rooms were prety except for ugly red carpet and living room furniture Eh- picky me...elevator inpection shown a year past expiration. Atrium looks a bit old fashioned Loud AC however I like the white noise Poor cell reception Website outdated Cons- high floors are SCARY!!! You look down to the atrium No free wifi???? No bathtub only shower...well at least in our room AC too cold in living area..too hot in bedroom Breakfast was free... Omlette/pancake person was good. Bagel selection needs wheat flavor Cereal gross in bins... Do they REALLY wash them out??? Eww! Tasted stale. Small toaster too many people and that one slow.... Need the one that you drop it in and it drops at the bottom. Not enough seating... Seemed like only one person cleaning tables and it was pretty busy..she was trying. Eggs looked dry

Stayed one night with two young boys on the way to Florida. Easy check-in with nice clean room. Happy Hour reception (free drinks 5-7) and complimentary breakfast with made-to-order omlettes. Hotel isn't new and it shows but overall well-maintained and within walking distance to restaurants and bars downtown. We were staying via Hilton Honors points and were happy. If we had been paying we probably would have considered the newer Rennaisance across the street. Either way ask for directions to the Alley Bar if you want a drink - not on Yelp yet but cool place to wet your whistle.
