Dumb hostess/wait policy.. Been there twice.. First time sat at the bar while we waited for a table (there were multiple open ones around) & ended up ordering there..food was good & guy was nice. the second time we didn't stay to get seated..both times there were plenty of open tables (6+ immediately visible), and BOTH times we were told it was a 30-40min wait..haha, really?!? And they don't take reservations... I will not be back nor will I recommend this place to anyone.. Stupidest policy I've seen in a while...maybe it's because they take you cell # & notify you when your table is ready via phone..ignorant & unnecessary, imho

Great atmosphere. Food so so. Drinks worthless. Band butchered songs. Will not return

We sat out on the patio which seemed very nice. Our server was prompt to greet us to take a drink order. Drinks than took about 15 min to arrive. The server than took our food order. We finished our first round of drinks a little while after our food order was taken and ordered another round when the server was able to stop by our table again, again it took about 10-15 min to get our drinks. The food came out, well 1 of 2 dishes came out, the person that set the food down at the table didnt even mention anything about a second dish so I assumed it was on its way. We waited 12 min, I timed it this time, for our server to to come back to the table to check on us and to his surprise my food was not there. After about 5 min he came back and said that he forgot to ring it in and that it would be right out. Food came out, the jambalaya, and wished it had stayed in the kitchen. Not good. Maybe will give this place another shot someday but not anytime soon. Disappointing since I really enjoyed the atmosphere.

I was reluctant to try this place based on reviews that they needed more time to get it together, but was pleasantly surprised. Sunday after church crowd, we were seated within ten minutes and our server Trey was excellent--highly attentive but not overbearing. The food was very good--not exceptional, but good for a new staff. Give it a go--I will come back!

This was our second visit within a week. Our first visit was virtually flawless but we met another couple and found this dinner to have few problems. Our server was not very attentive to our table and the manager had to bail him out on several different occasions. Our appetizer sat on our table for about ten minutes before the manager finally brought silverware and plate. Drinks were not refilled and a couple other issues involving a wine order. The men's bathroom was down right disgusting and needed attention. The food was good but it didn't take my attention away from the poor service. This place kind of reminds me of another restaurant that was in East Chase and closed down because of bad service. RS.

Was a little reluctant to try the place after all the mixed reviews I've heard but wanted to check this place out for myself. I met a girlfriend for drinks so we decided to sit at the bar. Our bartender Stephanie was GREAT!! She greeted us immediately, and was so attentive the entire time even though the bar was full and I only saw one other bartender (Her name was Haley and she was also wonderful, very knowledgable about beer). I ordered a lemon berry cooler which was delicious and refreshing but my friend was having trouble deciding what she wanted so Stephanie suggested a Key Lime Pie Martini, which wasn't on the menu but holy cow should it be, it was easily one of the best drinks I've ever tasted! A little on the sweeter side so I probably couldn't drink more than two in a sitting but still awesome none the less! Now on to the food, we originally just planned on having drinks but we were enjoying ourselves so much we decided to extend our happy hour drinks to include dinner as well. At the bartenders recommendations we ordered the calamari and a margarita flatbread. The calamari was lightly fried, hot and delicious and was a bigger portion than we were expecting. The flatbread was great, definitely a good choice if you're here for happy hour because it's on special for only $7 and is plenty big enough to share! All and all our experience was great! I definitely recommend sitting at the bar also, service was great and the bartenders are so fun, and make some killer drinks that aren't on the menu! We're already planning our next girls night here!

Never had the food heard it is good but I've only been here twice at the bar. The first time couldn't get a draft beer to pour very well but the service people was very accommodating. Now on the other hand the second time thru my bartender(Stephanie) was not very attentive to her customers and her attitude was not very good.

Okay guys. You put advertisements all over the blasted place, I come in to see what's up and you've already disappointed me. Granted, I have a lot of food service experience, but you guys need to get it together. Walk in at 6:00 on a Tuesday- 5 hostesses tell me there will be a 45 min wait, no one else waiting, tables available, but 45 mins... It's a nice night out and no one is sitting in the patio, which to me is a selling feature. I choose to sit a the bar and wait on my friend to join me. I'm told there is a fresh cocktail on tab. It intrigues me so I order the Montgomery mule. Bartender realizes he forgot to make the batch before opening. So he makes me one. It tasted okay, not like any Moscow mule I've ever had, but refreshing enough. There were no less than 6 bartenders, 2 bar backs, and 2 managers, yet we had touch and go service. SERIOUSLY!? One guy took my order but not my friend's who was sitting right next to me. I had to literally flag him down to get our check. Food was okay. Nothing memorable. This place won't last if they don't shape up.

Awful, even the music was bad. Very slow. I ordered chicken and it was tiny, it was supposed to come with steamed broccoli. But half of the plate was basically raw broccoli they dumped on there. Couldn't get a seat and had to find the waiter to get our check so we could get out and never return. If you're from GA, this is basically a taco Mac with diff color schemes and way pricey menu.

Dinner for two at approximately 7:45 PM (hour + wait), first visit to Blackfinn, 2 drinks, 2 meals, 1 app. ~$62.00 First impressions: An extremely loud atmosphere and having to speak a phone number for staff to text you when your table is ready is a terrible combination. Appetizer: Chipotle Queso Dip - I swear they pureed a can of Rotel, microwaved Velveeta, and served it with too few chips. I wouldn't order this again. Dish 1: Shrimp Stir Fry - Large portion with several shrimp, veggies were crunchy and rice noodles were good. Just as good microwaved the next day also however, nothing about the flavors, presentation, etc. are memorable. Dish 2: Ranch Chicken Salad - From the dishes I saw, salads may be the best bang for your buck in terms of portions. Large salad with good amount of chicken, shredded lettuce, crispy/crunchy veggies, and some hidden heat to set off the dish. Nothing about this place makes me want to return but in all fairness, I likely will to try some sort of beef (steak/burger). The atmosphere reminds me of Rock Bottom without karaoke or if Chili's/TGIF/Applebee's decided to up their prices $5-$10 and serve the same mediocre food. Waitstaff was attentive yet lacked knowledge of the majority of the menu items. If only the flavors of the dishes were as loud as the noise level in this place...

Food was decent, but this new restaurant -as of May 2015- needs to spend some time training the staff. There were three servers and about 12 hostesses. Management has some work to do. We waited over 40 minutes for our appetizer and then our food showed up 2 minutes later. Please fix this type of stuff and I will come back.

We had Crispy Calamari for a stater then blacken chicken Alfredo and a Saloon Burger. Food was really good and the service was outstanding for us. However the table beside us, got there before us and were still waiting on their food when we left. So maybe the service is hit or miss.

I really like this place. i am not sure why so many people gave it such bad reviews but you have to understand its a PUB. What do people mostly do in a pun? Drink. Yep. But that didn't stop us from ordering something to eat. The bar is located in a shopping center, which really could use more parking... but that is not the bars fault. I got a black and tan and the wife got a lemon drop. Both were so nice and tasty that we got another one. I ordered the buffalo hot wings and the wife got the hummus duo. Both appetizers were good. The best part of the experience was our waiter, Justin. He t let me know about the free appetizer for downloading the app onto my phone. I really appreciated that. In addition, he was attentive to our needs. We had excellent service all around. Great overall experience from the drinks and food to the service provided.

So this place obviously has a few kinks to smooth out. They've only been open for 3 weeks or so and it was a little hectic. If you have a medium to large party this could be a good place. Maybe even a date, but it's a little loud so maybe not a first date. Some of my pros and cons. Pros: *Glad something new is in Montgomery *Cute baby bassinets to place your baby or baby carrier for parents! *The spinach artichoke dip is good, I like the soft pita chips that came with it *Cool bathrooms *They remade my sisters entire order when they made it wrong *The French toast they give you is a really large portion *The funnel cake fries are good, love the dipping sauces *The hot chocolate (soufflé in a cup) was very good Cons: *No non alcoholic specialty drinks? They've been open for about 3 weeks and no blender? *Unorganized employees My sister's egg on her crab Benedict was over cooked it was basically a hard boiled egg *The seared tuna appetizer was ok...Bone Fish Grill's is actually better *The French toast was a little soggy All in all I may try it again in a few months and see if things have gotten better. My waiter did do his best to be attentive and I think the owner even came out and helped give people their food. So I'll only doc one star for now. The food was ok-good nothing WOWED me. But it's good pub food. I'll have to come back and try some other dishes.

I think this place needs some time to adjust. I came here on a Friday night and the service was extremely slow, the bathrooms were dirty, manager didn't come to check on the table despite us complaining to other servers who addressed the manager about the delay in our service. Not sure if I'd like to give this place another try. Food was okay. Slightly overpriced in my opinion. Ashley is the best server. We weren't even her table and she helped us the rest of the night.

ADHD menu nightmare. Food tastes great once it arrives. Awful service on 3 occasions. Servers need a lot of training! Kitchen needs smaller menu.

It seems to be maybe one click above a typical sports bar. From what I hear when they first opened there were quite a few growing pains. But I have visited twice recently and they seem to have it together. Both times I sat at the bar. The service was fast and friendly. The staff made sure I was taken care of frequently checking in to see if anything was needed. When they brought out the wrong food they comped my dessert even though the order was the error of the person in our party who relayed the wrong information to the staff. They have plenty of TVs and you can clearly see the sporting event of the day . A little loud but hey it is a bar after all .

The food is very good, our server was very nice, however we waited over an hour for 5 entrees. Our server was very apologetic and the manager came several times letting us know several "issues" they had. TONS of servers, the issue seemed to be the kitchen. After it was said and done, we received the meal at 50% off. I'm sorry but that's just not quite enough...really wanted to liked the place!

When this place came in, I was a bit skeptical due to it carrying so many varieties of cuisines. You either are great at one and not so good at others. This place, to me, has mastered all I've tried so far. From Asian, to Italian to great American food. Sometimes the service DOES get a bit slow. To the point one time of waiting over an HOUR for our food, however...the management made up for it and it was great from that point on. Try it twice, as I say. You can never be for certain over one visit.

This review is a few weeks old by now. I'm just now writing it down and you can blame me for being a bad reviewer. I'll take whatever punishment you have waiting... except for taking away my gummi-bears. I'll fight you for 'em. Anyway, I came here one night after work and it was around 9:30 PM or so. A good crowd on a Tuesday night looked promising as I entered, being sat moments later by the friendly hostess. As I glanced over the menu, I was wondering if I could make just ONE choice, as it seems the menu is rather extensive -- and not just three or four types of food with different ways of cooking them but its all over the place -- so, this was gonna take a while. My server, nice and friendly and extremely patient, offered to help me as I finally made some choices along the way. The calamari was good, fried lightly and hot when it arrived about 5 minutes later. The salad I ordered came out just a few minutes beyond that, but I was hungry and didn't mind. And I have to say, the calamari was a good plentiful helping. I ordered the Queen City Chicken; bacon-crusted chicken stuffed with sweet sausage paired with sweet potato mash and grilled asparagus. It came right on time as I was done with the salad and letting things settle nicely. Digging in moments later, it was pretty good. It could have used a little seasoning, in my opinion, but my taste buds like spicy and I'm sure it was good for most folks. However, nitpicking away, the sweet potato mash was dwarfing everything else on the plate -- as there was a huge mound of it -- which made the namesake star of the dish really small. The asparagus was cooked a little hard but it was good, nonetheless. And for added gluttony, I ordered the mac & cheese side dish. Okay, this wasn't a side dish because it could have fed a 15 year old. However, it was nice and hot and tasty. Dessert, although tempting, wasn't an option at this point. My server was nice and polite, taking things away when needed and giving me a pleasant dining experience. All in all, a good visit to which I'll look forward to experiencing again another time.

A couple of colleagues an I drove here because Yelp hadn't changed the address of La Jolla. I apparently was the first person to notify yelp that La Jolla had moved and this place is now Blackfinn. I've eaten at Blackfinn before but the service here was slow. Close to 30 min. to get our food. Not sure we'll be back.

I had very high hopes for this restaurant and I do believe they can overcome some of the issues in this review. The outdoor menu that's posted had some great offerings, so I decided to venture inside. I immediately fell in love with the decor--lots and lots of flat screen televisions placed all over the venue and bar area. Amazing!!! I can definitely see myself here on Thursday, Sunday and Monday night football!!!! Roxanne was my bartender. She was really sweet and made me a righteous Mojito--Scrumdiddlyumptious!!! However, she made a mistake with my receipt and had to charge my card twice, once for the reversal charge and the other for the actual charge. Kinda annoying. My Ahi Tuna appetizer was delicious. Really fresh with a spicy kick. My entrée, Shrimp and Grits started off really well, but I think the grits were a bit clumpy so I couldn't finish it all. This place is kinda pricey, but I don't mind paying for quality food and service. I'd give this place another shot.
