    We all have our favorite burger from childhood. Mine is a Whataburger. We're down to one in Mobile and I pray it stays right there on Government Street where it has been for YEARS. Whataburger is no gourmet burger - there's no sauteed mushroom with blue cheese option - but there's something about that combination of mustard (you have to ask for ketchup - DON'T), lots of lettuce, chopped onions and a good ole hamburger patty cooked on a old seasoned grill - that just DOES IT for me! Don't fool with the basic Whataburger - don't get anything extra - just order a Whataburger. The one thing you can request is to cut it in half! That's all - stop there. Otherwise - you will miss the entire effect of what a Whatburger is supposed to be. If you want a bacon cheeseburger - go somewhere else. If you want Angus beef or ground filet mignon - go somewhere else as well. But if you want to taste a good, old fashioned drive in hamburger - head to Whataburger. Here's another thing - they have THE BEST ketchup for fries. Like I said above - don't get ketchup on the burger - you'll ruin the effect. I have no idea who makes their ketcup for them - but it is simply THE BEST. If I could buy it in a bottle - I may actually keep ketchup at my house. But I can't - so I don't.

    First off let me say that I love Whataburger. They are one of the very few fast food chains that use REAL eggs and cook pancakes on the griddle. However, this particular Whataburger is the worst fast food joint I've ever been to. EVER. No exaggeration. The service is snail-paced (even during slow times) and the communication is terrible. The soda machine is constantly broken and spurting out syrup. There was hot tea in the coffee pot once. I told the worker and she said "oh", stared at me, and did nothing. We keep trying it out and are let down over and over again. The worst. ever. period.

    I always like to try a burger from the local chain when I travel. When I saw a big triangle-shaped metal shack that said "Whataburger" on a big 60's looking sign, I knew what I had to do. It was a late night after a hard day when I visited Whataburger--the perfect setting to enjoy this kind of food. I ordered "1 Whataburger please". After an old lady in a minivan finished whatever she was taking a century to do, I pulled up the side window to get my Whataburger. I pulled out my trusty AMEX, but was informed that the credit card machine was broken. Unfortunately I only had 2 bucks cash. Technically, it was their problem so I shouldn't be penalized, but I was still impressed when the lady said "I gotcho chainge". What an angel. After driving away and taking a couple of pictures of my whataburger, I took a big bite. The burger was fantastic. Juicy, not too greasy, a good amount of lettuce that was actually crisp... wow, just what I needed! I would definitely reccommend picking up a Whataburger if you've never tried one. and if you see that lady, tell her thanks again for spotting me the 79c.

    This place has quite a following! We finally got to try it for the first time. I love that the restaurant looks like it hasn't changed since the '50's. So cute. The burgers we had were delicious! I would rank them above Sonic burgers, which are my other favorite fast food burger. It wasn't quite Five Guys, but is kind of in a different category in my mind anyway. Fries were good too.

    I wish there was an In N Out or a Jack N the Box but hey can't be picky , whataburger is the only thing available . Anyway the ups about this place are that, portions are huge. Just be prepared to pay. The other thing is that it's super close to the Casa lol so if I get that late night food urge wuala to whataburger I go! Lol on a serious note overall whataburger not bad for the amount of food you get!

    Um Yeah. Whataburger wins my favorite fast food burger in the US. This doesn't include the burger stands (Elevation, The Counter, etc) however it was better than both In & Out and Five Guys. Yes, a ton of people are going to kill me for this but so be it. So glad I don't live by one of these, I'd be a house.

    My review is not just this Whataburger, but all of them. The burgers are not good at all. The fries are soggy. Go to just about any other fast food chain around(except steak and shake) they will just about all be better.
