Love going to this place. It's a great local place that has an awesome pizza menu. They have really good lunch specials and their great white is amazing.

The staff was very sweet and they seemed to have great happy hour and food specials depending on the day you come however, I honestly compare it to frozen pizza. Im not sure since I ordered by the slice it wasn't as fresh or the pizza just is not great. I also ordered Beignet, although I wasn't expecting new orleans style I expected better, nevertheless I kindly ask the waiter to take them off my check. I remember coming to picklefish in high school with my cross country team but I dont remember it being like this but anywho this place has so much potential being it few pizza joints in mobile. I would still go for happy hour and give the burgers a try.

Not very great atmosphere or anything. The pizza was pretty soggy and my friends noticed do how cheap the place was friendly staff but poor ingredients like cheap cheese and one pepperoni.

The new renovations are nice. If you like craft and draft beer they have a good selection. Get pizza and don't waste time on anything else. My favorite is the great white. I do wish they offered tofu.

Every spring I drive to to Atlanta twice for a conference. For the past four years each time I drove through Mobile I have stopped at Picklefish to pick up a pizza for the ride home. I always thought they had the best mozzarella sticks and great pizza. Last spring on one of my trips I didn't think it was as good, so last month on my drive through Mobile I skipped my ritual. Deciding to give it a second chance I stopped there tonight and was so disappointed! The only redeeming quality of the place was the incredibly nice guy who rung up my order. The mozzarella sticks that I ordered tasted nothing like mozzarella! I know that they have new pepper jack sticks-- I know they have them because they asked me if that's what I wanted when I ordered and I said NO-- and I don't know if that's what they gave me by mistake or if the mozzarella sticks are really that gross, but they tasted like spicy American cheese or something equally bizarre. I wanted to make myself eat them since I paid for them, but I could barely choke down one. Now the pizza. I worked at a skating rink in my teens and we served pizza there. Not real pizza, but frozen discs of dough covered in some Canned sauce and synthetic cheese. That's basically what I thought I was eating tonight. The cheese was pretty good and there was a trace some garlicky goodness on the crust, but other than that all I had was a flaccid and cold piece of dough in my hands. I guess I am officially never going back now.

3.5 just for the food. Food was great enough to ignore the noisy ambience around us. Limited staff so be ready to wait a little longer. We ordered artichoke and spinach dip . dip as creamy as that, we did not know when the plate became empty. We ordered a simply veggie pizza. Thin crust, veggies and marinara. Pizza was excellent. For $30 for two, we have never felt so content ever when paying the bill. Its a home-converted sports bar type. You can watch the game, play snooker and enjoy the bar.

Friendly staff, I had the pizza and it was great, a little bit over price but for it worth it..(add picklefish to your top ten restaurants). Restaurant was hard to find they need better advertisement outside.

Nice atmosphere, great pizza. We had the veggie. Very good. Spencer owner/mgr. terrific guy. He recommended the fried pickle spears. They were a hit. Also Long Island tea at happy hour. Wonderful evening. We will be back for another visit.

I usually go here when I am in class, and I want a cheap lunch. They run a $7 special that gives you a slice of pizza, and mixed salad topped with veggies, and a soft drink. You really can't beat it. They are always dead, and the inside looks like a bit of a dive bar. I dig it. Do I think it is the ultimate place? No, but good food and consistently good service. It is directly across the street from the Mitchell Center on campus.

I will preface this in saying the place was dead, so I couldn't get a feel for the usual crowd. I had a groupon to try this place. I went with the "big pig", which is a pork topped pizza. It wasn't bad, a rather average thin crust that was burnt around the edges (I didn't mind so much). The happy hour prices were on par with most other places, half off on all drinks. I was happy to see they had two hearted ale by Bells (hometown favorite), but other than that, their beer selection was limited. I wasn't impressed by the bartender, he could have been a bit more personable. I get the impression that it's more of a college bar, where personality in a bartender comes second to other things. I will definetly have to come back and try a few more things on the menu. I'll also have to experience the crowd on a good night.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I used to LOVE Picklefish. However, over the past few years it has changed hands multiple times and this last turn over has obliterated any fond feelings I previously held towards this pizza joint. Unfortunately, this has led to an upsetting bottom line: Substandard food that is extremely overpriced, especially when coupled with the awful service. During my last visit, our server was beyond terrible. With an open floor, we waited over twenty minutes for her to bring our drinks. It then took over an hour past ordering until our meals arrived ... completely wrong, (Frustrating and unacceptable is an understatement.) If you want decent pizza with competent service, head somewhere else because Picklefish is a waste of A LOT of time and money.

Came in a few days ago and had a couple beers and the mushrooms, GREAT. Came in tonight for a pizza and beer, well here goes. There was one other table in the place and it took almost 15 minutes to order a beer and that's at the bar. Pizza is just maybe one step above Papa Johns. So I suggest if you just want pizza and beer stop someplace for a six pack of good craft beer and call Dominos, it will be cheaper and you don't have to drive.

I shouldn't have been surprised by pickles at Picklefish, but the fried dill pickles were incredible. Note that I rarely eat fried food! The cheese pizza was outstanding and our server was super friendly.

Always a delight to enjoy some great pizza at Picklefish. But today I had their Chicken Salad and it was delicious and very filling. As usual, the atmosphere for a Sunday was quiet and very family oriented. My friend had the $2 Bloody Mary and said it was the best she has had in ages...

I have eaten here twice and had a good pizza, but we ordered a pizza to go last weekend and got home and it was burnt on the bottom, totally disappointed for a $22 pizza. Won't be going back too many other pizza places around that are cheaper and better!

Picklefish is located right across the street from a university, but it's never been terribly crowded when I've visited. It's kind of a dive if you look at the water spots on the ceiling and the peeling walls, but it's not uncomfortable and it works. The pizza makes up for it, anyway, and they have a great variety of topping combinations. I especially love their barbecue chicken pizza, and their white pizza is very good too (though sometimes too heavy on the spinach). They offer several reasonably priced lunch specials, and the full pizzas aren't overpriced either.

Good pizza, decent atmosphere. I prefer their pizza to the Mellow Mushroom's.

If you're looking for local pizza in Mobile, this is it! This place has the best pizza! Decent salads! And great fried pickles! They even have happy hour on the weekends! They have a pretty good selection of beer and alcohol but the best is the LIT pitchers! I love this place! Great for going to watch the game or just when you're craving pizza!

The new owners of this place have really run it into the ground. They have cut back on the toppings on the pizzas, raised the prices, and try to mislead people about group prices. The pizza,s especially the Big Pig, are not as good as they were under the previous owners. They are unreliable and and outright dishonest. I was quoted one price for a group and within 4 hours when we showed up and ate, the owner refused to honor what he had quoted.

picklefish is my favorite restaurant in mobile (where i grew up). if you like pesto, heaps of mozzarella, and doughy crust, try the white pizza... plus, it's one of the only places that serves vegetarian options. unfortunately, they closed the downtown picklefish -- one of the only cool, divey restaurants in town. but the old shell location has a great patio, and take-out is always good....

I'm torn about how many stars to give. For years I have been hitting picklefish at odd hours of the night, due to it's close proximity to all the fun bars. My last visit almost killed me. Literally. I almost died from asphyxiation. The combination of cigarette smoke and pizza oven smoke was overwhelming. Due to the Mardi Gras crowds they were, at first, reluctant to open the door. I have no idea what the pizza tasted like. I am certain it was good, like always. Either that or we were all drunk. Or both. Just bring a gas mask and you will have a good time.
