Their nachos combined with incredible beer selection makes Montegos a great TGIF destination. Back on 8.18 and was an off nite. Nachos were cold and slow coming, but this is the 1st bad experience. I will be back - everyone has an off nite.

Loved the atmosphere here . It was hard to pick from the menu , with so many good sounding items on it . The beer me he was even harder to choose from . We got the fish tacos , shrimp tacos , and crab cake salad . Everyone enjoyed their selections . I got a side of their coconut curry sauce form mine , as suggested from a previous tip. That stuff is tasty. The beer was a little high , with $6.25 for a pint . It was good , and they do have cheaper beers. We never had to wait long for service, since we had three different servers stop and check on us , and they were all real friendly.

If you are like me and like to support small local businesses, then give Montegos a try! I have only dined here once on a sunny Saturday during lunch. Being that the weather was sunny and 74 degrees, my wife and I opted to dine outside. I haven't set foot inside, the tables outside are made of wrought iron with large umbrellas to provide some shade. Once we were greeted by the server, I asked what they recommended. He pointed out any of the hamburgers or the fish tacos. I opted for the shrimp tacos which you can get fried, grilled, or blackened. They are served on flour tortillas with a homemade slaw, lime, and cheese along with a side for about $12. Once our ticket was delivered, the server also told us that we could get the tacos served like a lettuce wrap in place of the tortillas, I will probably order it this way next time. I will definitely visit again, the food was served fresh. Thanks Montego for being a good local option to dine.

If you're looking for something different then this is the place. The menu has quite the variety from hamburgers to local seafood dishes. The plus....there are at least 48 different draft beers to select from! Lunch was great and very reasonable. The service was fantastic. My only complaint was it was a bit noisy at lunch, but again it is a bar. I will definitely be back and plan to bring a group of friends to enjoy the food and drinks.

Excellent!! The shrimp tacos are the absolute best in Mobile! I also enjoy sampling their craft beer selection while I am waiting for my to go orders. Their hamburgers are also amazing! I visit with both my family and with my buddies. I am a regular!!

Dined here based on the Yelp reviews. We are always on the prowl for a new and unique place to eat in Mobile. I had the regular Monte, my son had the Full Monte and my wife had the Fish Tacos. They were just as advertised (and reviewed) OUTSTANDING! We started the meal with an order of very tasty Conch Fritters paired with a couple of their fine draft beers. The service and food will bring us back. Everyone should give this place a try! Good job!

Bumping my rating up to 4/5 because of the menu revamp. The crab cakes are excellent. The smoked prime rib is different, but good. A lot of the old favorites have been retained. They've still got all the same burgers and pizzas. And of course the draft beer selection is outstanding. Wish they offered more wing flavors.

I took out of town friends here today because I have always loved the food and atmosphere. However, today they were off their game. We waited over an hour after ordering for 3 taco plates. We possibly would have waited longer but went to question what was up. Drink refills were also practically nonexistent. I will give it another chance and change my rating if my next visit is good.

Was lamenting to my wife the other day that I had not found an excellent burger in Mobile yet, and we moved down here 21 months ago. Well, I had some time to kill and decided to eat lunch at Montego's as I drove by. They were packed, on a Friday, at lunch... First the good, the burger was amazing, had the one with pulled pork piled on top of the burger, they added bacon upon my request. It was the best burger I've had since our last visit to Colorado Springs and our meal at Crave Burger there. The fries were average, but with that burger? Who cared about the fries? Now, the room for improvement. The service was painfully slow, due in part to the large lunch crowd and only have three employees there I could see. I was on the verge of walking out when the server finally came up and took my order. Being lunchtime, I did not partake in the draft beer selection, I will be back some evening for beer and music. They probably had 30 varieties of draft beer. Great job guys, keep making great burgers and I'll be a repeat customer.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! The buffalo shrimp tacos are out of this world! The amount of good, quality beers on tap is outstanding. If you haven't been, you have to do yourself a favor and check them out!

Had lunch on a Monday after driving by this place many times and wanting to give it a try. There wasn't any inside seating unless we wanted to sit at the bar. It is a verrrry tiny inside, so luckily they have a large outdoor area (which unfortunately faces busy Airport Blvd and right next door to the latest Walmart under construction). So, skip the ambiance because there isn't any. Jerk chicken tacos were amazing. Very flavorful and not spicy...just a little heat. Hubby had the pulled pork tacos and they seemed bland in comparison to mine. Large portions here because they also give you a side choice and those funky little muffins. I don't get the muffins. They were like a cinnamon spice flavor. Maybe ok with my morning coffee but not as a lunch side. The cheese grits side was pretty good. Their alcohol selection (incl beer) seems fun and funky. Overall, an interesting menu and I'd definitely come back. The waiter was very friendly and service was quick.

We went for brunch and were pretty underwhelmed. Decent drink specials but the food left a lot to be desired. They were out of 3 items that we were interested in, and the things that we did get were forgettable. Breakfast pizza was definitely on a pre-made bland crust, and the pulled pork and waffles were just meh. Tasted kind of like pulled pork from the grocery store and the waffle was barely warm. The most positive thing I can say is that they have a great beer selection.

Not really what I was expecting. I guess I was looking for a little more spice. I had the Jerk Chicken and it was just chicken. In fact, I had to ask for some type of sauce to dip the meat in. The coconut rum rice was ok and the greens were nothing special, just greens. The muffins were ok. My mom had the fish tacos. She made a much better selection. They were pretty good and the grilled pineapple added a nice flavor. It is a very small establishment with a good laid back atmosphere. The staff was fast and friendly. Just not what I had in mind for Caribbean food - more spice please.

The beer was cold and they have a great draught selection, but don't go hungry. I'm not sure where the others that have reviewed this place eat, but come to Baldwin county, it will change your outlook on this place. The nachos were horrible, and cold. They were out of crab cakes which eliminates half their menu, and it was before seven o'clock. The shrimp and grits were ok, but not for the price. At least the staff was nice, and didn't charge us for the food, which went back uneaten.

I've been eyeing this place for a while driving down Airport. Went here today and enjoyed my meal. I had the Monte Burger and it was great. The menu has something for everyone: burgers, Po-boys, Fish/pork tacos. Service was quick and meals came out in a timely manner. I'm sure I'll be back soon.

My new favorite place in mobile. We have been five or six times and it is great everytime. We get ours to go. We have had the pork tacos, the chicken tacos, and bad like yazz fries. Everything is delicious. Highly recommend!
