Everything was delicious with good service. I just love fried green tomatoes and these were some of the best I have ever had. Neat atmosphere too its in a old cabin I would like to come back in the winter when there is a fire in the fireplace.

Got to say that after our appetizer of fried green tomatoes (that were out of this world good) I was pretty well stuffed; but thought to myself; If the appetizer is this good I can't wait to try more. We ate at lunch & the prices were fair. (Much cheaper than the Wildflower; which is the only other option that you have in Mentone to my knowledge) prices were around $9-$15 bucks depending on what you order. The fried green tomatoes were like $7.99. The lunch menu consists of mostly sandwiches and salads. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown which I had never had, but the description sounded amazing (grilled chicken breast between 2 pieces of local rye, bread topped with cheese sauce and bacon bits) & sweet potato fries. My gf got the burger and greek pasta salad. The "Kentucky hot brown was too much bread, the sauce was lacking something and the sweet potato fries were just so so. The burger was awesome but the greek pasta salad was overwhelming (which is something you will rarely ever hear me say when it comes to flavor). We both agreed that we would come back for the burger & best fried green tomatoes ever but we probably wouldn't miss anything else if we never had them again. The place is a cool old style cabin and seating is very original. The service could have been better but I think it was shift change and I'm sure that had something to do with this.

What a cool find. We had lunch here and everyone loved their food. It was a BIT close, about 10 tables and they all were in a dark cabin...but the food was great and the service was fast and friendly. A great place to stop for lunch and walk through the local art shops. Park in the rear.

This was a perfect stop after coming if the trail at the Walls of Jericho. Fried green tomatoes were just what I would've expected in Alabama, and they were great! Our waitress was just adorable (she had never met another Vanessa ha!), but had to cover way to many tables and the check out counter. Kudos on their 'lighter' summer menu, as there were quite a few healthy dishes to choose from.

The service was excellent and the food and deserts were equally as good. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Got the ribeye steak special. The portion was good and service was great. The steak was undercooked a bit and a little tough. The seasoning was okay.

The service was absolutely horrible. We were lucky a second server was around to help. After the appetizer of fried green tomatoes they brought our entrees and didn't bother to bus the empty plates. They seem to put bacon bits on everything for some odd reason even when it conflicts with the dish. The pasta dish was too rich and overcooked. The chicken sandwich was covered with a thick sauce again with bacon bits. The burgers looked good but we didn't have them regrettably

Really? You have three people standing up front at the cash register talking to each other and people lined up outside the door. Why? We waited 30 minutes for a table and then another 15 to get our drinks. We were completely through the drinks when we heard a waitress tending to another table tell them they were so sorry for the wait and they were comping their meal if they wanted to wait longer. The couple turned to us and said, "I hope you're not in a hurry. We've been here almost 2 hours and still don't have our food." How is this place in business? It's cute and kitchy and has all the country/down home knick knacks and what have you. But to make people wait 2 hours to get served on a Sunday when you're pushing your brunch special? The parking lot was full, yet the tables didn't seem that way. I don't know if people were just jacking the parking spaces or what. The sad thing was...our waiter told us they were "running behind" that day and we needed to be ready to wait a while. We had already been there almost an hour and had to get the boys over to Boy Scout camp nearby. We opted not to wait. The guy handed us a bill for our drinks! Are you kidding me??? I'm sorry, but I didn't pay it. Well, I tried, but the three chatty Kathy's at the cash register were more interested in talking about their friends who'd hooked up with some guys who were in town....so we left. Worst service. Pathetic. Won't ever stop there again.

We love to eat here when we camp at Cloudland Canyon state park. Yea, the service is a bit uneven but the food is very creative and the menu and special differ each time we go in. It's not an urban 5 star restaurant folks. Its a fun, quirky, mountain top kind of place with art all over the walls, strange furniture and pretty good food. I'll keep going back.

OMG! The best crab burger and sweet potato fries on earth! And the people who run/work here are the most friendly people! We will be back again before we leave. AWESOME!

Cool historic log cabin. We got there after a party of 35 had left. Staff was a little dazed. We were seated immediately and our food came in 35 minutes. The jalapeno blue cheese burger was huge and delicious. The veggie Panini were nicely done. The hot brown was amazing. Don't know why other reviews are so poor maybe they're just crabby diners!

"Worst service ever. We left after waiting 30 minutes for a waitress to come by. They kept saying they were coming, but they never did."

Fantastic little place on the main street in Mentone, AL. The house made fried are amazing. And the BBQ pork sandwich was very good for a little tourist place. Definately be back on another Harley ride.

Cute little place but would not want to go back. Limited menu, service is lacking! The best thing are the fries & the homemade ranch dressing. Long waiting to pay the bill. Understaffed.

Good food. Professionally prepared. BUT, looked over menu and asked for the shrimp cocktail - "We don't have that anymore". Calamari - "We don't have that anymore". Ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich with a baked potato - "We only serve baked potatoes on the weekend" (we were there on a Wednesday). While we were there the waitress was heard to go over the available deserts with a couple seated near us. One ordered - she returned a short time later - "we are out of that". Also, this restaurant is "seat yourself anywhere you want". We headed for a table and were told we needed to sit at another table - "in case we have a group of 6". We have dined at that table several times in the past. We were one of three couples there when we arrived - when we left, no one was left. Suggestions: Keep your menu up-to-date. If someone wants a baked potato, throw one in the microwave. Before the wait staff proclaims what deserts are being served, check and make sure everything REALLY IS available. If you don't want patrons to sit at certain tables, put up a sign saying "wait here to be seated" OR just put a card on the table that says RESERVED.

Over the past 4 or 5 years I've eaten at this location several times under several other names. Finally, an operator who has it right. The food is tasty and the portions are generous. The people I interacted with seemed glad to be working there, and glad to see me. As the street view photo suggests, it's rustic and casual. On this rainy, winter day there was a fire going in the fireplace, and the restaurant was warm, cozy, and inviting. I think the target diner is a tourist visiting Mentone--and that's just fine, because the town itself has fewer than 500 full-time residents. My cheeseburger and fries with a Coke came to just over $10 before tax and tip. The burger was probably about a half pounder and the fries were freshly cooked and hot--just the way you'd want them. Dinner items on the menu will run you a bit more. If you have never been, go to see the decor, then return because the food is good and the location is a fun destination.
