Based on a recommendation of a good friend, my mother and I went there for lunch at the end of May 2014. We both ordered the Madison County Sandwich, mine with walfle fries, Mom had the fruit cup. We both ordered bubble tea which neither of us had ever tried before. Turns out we are not fans of bubble tea, so I won't blame Urban Chez for that. This place is SMALL! Very limited seating and they had over half the seats reserved for a middle school graduation party that didn't arrive during the HOUR we spent there. The menu is confusing when it comes to the bubble tea, but again I won't waste time on that. It took forever to get our bubble tea and even longer to get our food. The tables are so close together, we could hear the conversations of the people on both sides of us. We opted not to talk much, because we didn't want to be overheard. My sandwich was pretty good, but parts of my bread were heavily burnt. Mom's sandwich was inconsistent. Some ingredients made it to one side of the sandwich but not the other. The waffle fries were bland and overcooked. The fruit cup was almost all sliced/halved grapes and two small pieces of melon, hardly a fruit cup in my opinion. I would only eat here again if I were outvoted in a group. As I rarely dine in groups, I doubt I will ever return.

Very good chicken salad wrap. Next time I'll add some spicy dressing. Husband loved the spicy pasta. Tasted great and big portion. Food brought to table by servers in chef coats. This is not a fast food place so prices reflect but not expensive.

Best place in Madison. Variety of bubble tea flavors, honeydew is my fav, and the Reuben wrap is fantastic. Later in the evening they play electronic dance music, which is nice. Free WiFi is nice and the speed is decent, last tested 8 down/1 up. Staff are all pretty cool and easy to talk to. Only wish they were open until 9 on weekdays, but they are open until 12 on weekends so that's pretty cool, We go multiple times a week, which is significant given the amount of choices in the Huntsville/Madison area.

So good! I mean like mind blown good. Very quick which is awesome. They have so many great options in the menu too which is fabulous. So many drink options as well. We can't wait to try more things. We had the coconut shrimp, pretzels and beer cheese, Cajun pasta and bubble waffle. It was ALL delicious. The service was great, not over bearing, incredibly friendly, we spoke with the chef/owner? And she was very lovely. We can't wait to come back and bring out kids and try more menu options!

Thank goodness we had a groupon, is all I have to say...we are not complainers, but this experience was unacceptable for us any many others that were having lunch here today. We will not be back. We ordered at the counter but the employee had no beer/wine knowledge. Beers that said were on tap were not. Carbonated drinks were also "temporarily" out of service. We got the classic burger and also ordered the Cuban wrap. As we were ordering two different couples complained about the wait for what seems to be pretty simple food. One couple had to take it to go and the other turned it down after one bite and got a full refund. After we ordered and sat for nearly 15 minutes, an employee came out to tell us that they did not have the ingredients for the Cuban wrap and asked if I wanted something else. I opted for the italian wrap, would not suggest that menu item at all. I also went to he counter for a small bottle of Pinot Grigio and was told all they had was not refrigerated. Then one employee found their last bottle of it in the refrigerator. Our order finally came out, but was yet again wrong. My husband got his burger, but I received another tables order which was a Reuben and we basically had to swap plates with one another. Prices are high for what you are getting.

I feel bad because there's no way this place is going to last. Their bubble tea is served warm and everything's way over priced for what you get. Not to mention that the staff are supremely unprofessional and can be seen aimlessly wandering around. Plus the waiters wear chef uniforms which is just....strange.

Excellent customer service and food. I got the Memphis Burger and it was great. Next time I'll get it medium well instead of well done.

This place is awesome. We decided to give it a try and bought the Groupon. Staff is excellent. Food is great too! I had the Spicy Cajun Pasta! Delicious! Next time I'm gonna add the shrimp! My husband had the Classic Burger! It's huge and tasty! Plenty for leftovers. We'll be back.

It's either closed long-term because the patio is empty or their hours are wrong. It's Sunday and they say they're open, but they aren't. Lame.

I split my wife's Muffuletta Wrap, and had a small Cafe au Lait. I was surprised at how tasty the Muffuletta Wrap was. It was heated well, with the cheese nicely melted. It appears that this wonderful little restaurant has pretty much gotten its act together. I did send word to the manager that the floor was slick today. Otherwise, I had no complaints. I give them a three and a half today, overall. Had the floor not been slick, this would have been a four and a half. When I was here before, the floor was not a problem.

Hip and trendy. Has a young vibe. Love the bubble tea. The burgers are pretty good. The fish and chips are excellent. The pot pie is good but not traditional. Chicken fingers are very good. The highlight for me is the macaroons. A wonderful variety of the French dessert. Definitely try it out.

I first learned about this place when they were shut down for several months and I eagerly awaited their reopening. I had such high hopes for my first visit but I have to say, I was kind of disappointed. First, it was FREEZING inside. The thermostat was set to 60 degrees!! Second, the floor was incredibly sticky although the dining area was otherwise very clean. Third, there is not much dining space available and certainly not for large parties. In fact, the limited dining space actually encroaches on the ordering area at the counter so if you're ever there during a rush, things can get pretty cramped and chaotic. Another thing, I found that older patrons had difficulty reading the menus on the electronic display. Also, as another Yelper pointed out, the food comes out one order at a time so if you're dining with a group, you'll be waiting for a while. Not knowing if I'd get to dine here again soon, I ordered a sampling of things to try. I ordered the Aloha burger with chips and the Chicken Fingers with seasoned fries. I also ordered two bubble teas to try - a peach tea with tapioca pearls and a green apple tea also with tapioca pearls. The food was incredible! Every bit of it....outstanding! I would recommend a few modifications to the Aloha burger but otherwise, I was pleased with all of the food choices. Everything was hot and fresh. The seasoned fries were my favorite! The bubble teas, however, were disgusting. I took a few sips of each, to be sure I was giving it a fair chance and I'm not kidding when I say there was NOTHING redeeming about those drinks. The tapioca pearls were a problem all their own. But, I tried drinking just the tea and was disappointed with it also. Fortunately, the staff were happy to give me another cup to get something else from the soda fountain. And here, I will mention, that the guy working the counter (I didn't get his name) was absolutely delightful. He had the best attitude and and an infectious smile. He was very accommodating! There are a few things I still really want to try. The funnel cake fries and the blueberry cheesecake churros, for example. I think I will probably try this place again but I would probably not recommend it for a group outing.

This is my first time eating at Urban Chez. It was closed for a bit for repairs and thought we would give it a try. The tag line "Teas - Sweets - Eats", needs to be changed to, "Burgers - Eats - Sweets". I'm an avid burger lover and the local semi-fast burgers from Five Guys and Smashburger top my list burgers. After eating here today, we have a new winner in my book. One word: Amazing. My wife got the Memphis Burger and I got the Pub Burger. Huge variety of choices so narrowing it down to this was difficult. They both were fresh, not frozen, thick and perfect mixer of toppings. I got sweet potato fries and the wife got regular. I'm not sure they make them there but by the taste of it I would say they do. We cannot wait to go back and have now found one of our new go to places in Madison. Atmosphere is classy and nice. I did have to wait a bit for my food but I have no problem with that considered what came out of that glorious kitchen. Oh, and the staff were very helpful and great as well. A+. My only qualm would be to change the tagline in the name. This entire time I thought it was either a sandwich and tea type of place or a coffee shop kind of establishment. Maybe its just me but I think this makes others skip over Urban Chez when choosing a place to dine. We will be back and A+ for being LOCAL! Not many local places this good.

On a recommendation from a friend my wife and I tried Urban Chez for lunch. One thing to be aware of is, while you may order at the counter, this is not fast food. From placing the order to its arrival at our table was 15-minutes, yeah I timed it. A couple things we noticed while waiting for our food: there were twelve people in the restaurant but only three had food; food was brought out to one person while others at the table watched and waited. Maybe this is due to the counter service style and the persons ordered separately, but this is a pet-peeve of mine. I ordered the fish and chips, which were good, tarter sauce seemed homemade. My wife ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, served poured over the bottom half of a biscuit topped with the top of the biscuit instead of a crust, which my wife knew going in. The interesting thing was about ¾-thru her dish my wife mentioned that there was no chicken but lots of potatoes. We did not ask about it but guessed the chicken was in the form of a cream-of-chicken soup. The taste was okay but my wife renamed it Potato-Pot-Pie. Oh, and ours arrived at table at the same time :-) Bottom line, the food was okay and we probably will not go back just because we were not wowed. Just know going in that it will take some time to get your food. If you have my pet-peeve about persons receiving their food at the same time you may mention it when ordering, the staff seemed friendly and hopefully would accommodate your request.

With Urban Chez having recently reopened, Lisa and I went there for lunch this afternoon and the results were disappointing. I ordered the Cuban Wrap with a side of Oven Roasted Vegetables and the portions were quite small. For $10, one has the right to expect a wrap that is much larger than an egg-roll. It is perhaps 1" in diameter and 6" long, hardly a meal. The sandwich itself tasted fine, although the tortilla didn't have that usual crunch that it had the last time I ordered one. It's supposed to be grilled, so how do you grill a tortilla and not make it crunch? Interestingly, there two panini presses are located by the front cash registers, yet the sandwich was made in the back so not sure how they cooked it? What's the point of having the presses up front if they're not used? The vegetables were very disappointing. They say they were oven roasted vegetables, but they were just mush. I'll bet money they were steamed/boiled, with no seasoning whatsoever. So disappointing.. Lisa ordered the Coconut Shrimp with a side of Oven Roasted Vegetables and she received 8 small shrimp. These shrimp were about the size you'd get in a 40-60 bag of Shrimp, so they were perhaps 1.5 bites each.. Way too small for the price. They came with a mango horseradish sauce which tasted quite good, but it was so thin that barely any of it stayed on the shrimp when you dipped it. The Shrimp themselves were cooked well, and the coconut had a nice crunch. But for $10, I'd expect more than 8 small shrimp and a bowl of mushy vegetables. I do not recommend Urban Chez for dinner because the portions are small and you will likely leave hungry. It's fine for lunch, but it is pricey. And that is why I will likely not go back. I would rather go to Chili's across the parking lot and get a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries for about the same price, and a lot more food. Sorry, Urban Chez. I'm glad you're open again, but you need to do better than this.

My wife and I came here because we had received a mailer about their grand opening, which we missed. The main thing that caught our attention is that they are locally sourced, which is important to me and my wife since we like to buy as much as possible from local vendors and farmers. I have to agree that the menu board is not placed very strategically, as the angle makes it difficult to read the entire thing, but the staff quickly handed us their to-go menu to compensate for that. They also answered all of our questions quickly and knowledgeably, which is a huge issue for us since we like to ask for recommendations! Their bubble teas seem good. They were out of mango, so my wife had the white peach, which was exactly as it should be. I ordered the passion fruit, which was awful. I'm not sure why it was so awful, but it tasted nothing like passion fruit, but because everything else was so good I have to assume it was the product and not the restaurant's fault. The tapioca was very fresh and just the right chewy-but-not-hard texture. We had the pretzels for an appetizer, and they were great. Chewy on the inside, very soft on the inside, with a great beer cheese. The only problem is that it came with three pretzels, which always causes the hesitation over how to split it up! For families of three, I suppose this works great, though. My wife had the Madison sandwich, which was fantastic! The goat cheese sets it apart from any other meaty sandwiches I know in the area, and the grill on the bread was just right. I had the chicken sandwich, which was very tasty. My only suggestion is that they tenderize the chicken breast, because some parts were hard to bite through. Taste-wise and composition-wise, though, spot on! The staff was kind and engaging throughout, and we look forward to trying the other foods they offer.

Nice atmosphere and decor just like I like it! The best way to describe it is casual and classy At the same time! The staff is incredible. Very accommodating and genuine. I felt welcomed from start to finish. Spoke with the general manager and she has a heart for service which I loved. Hubby had the chili cheese dog which is huge! It's def an adult chili dog and waffle fries were hot and tasty! I had the cheese burger simple yet flavorful and the potato salad...YUMMY! We split the Philly cheesesteak rolls which were nice and cheesy (I love cheese) and the ice cream is soooo rich and delicious! I hope everyone tries this place and loves it as much as we do! It's truly a gem and worth every penny! Oh and it's very affordable! Check it out!!!

So disappointed. After 2 hours we left without food (simple chicken fingers and fries) . The manager never bothered to come talk to us. Not once. Out of the 10 people in the whole restaurant we were the only ones who didn't receive food. I had high hopes for the grand reopening, but I appear to have been proven wrong.

It's a cute restaurant with a fun ambiance, but it takes a while to get your food. The prices are also high for what you get, although the food is pretty good.

I've been to Urban Chez twice now, and had very good food both times. The place is clean, and the people are very nice. We had the chicken salad wrap - very nice, lots of chicken with nuts and sliced grapes in a light mayo base. It comes in a standard wrap or lettuce wrap. Also had the madison sandwich. Sort of a cuban panini done on whole grain bread with carmalized onions and a cranberry salsa on it. The balance of porkiness with crusty sweet was really interesting. My son got a chicken ceasar - nothing to write home about except that they didn't overcook the chicken, a very common fault. The potato salad here is simply wonderful. Potatos are cooked through, not mealy. The dressingbis not too loose, properly seasoned, and the whole thing has a wonderful smokey overtone from pieces of bacon that is counterbalanced with fresh herbs. I would go here just for the potato salad.
