Thank you for the delicious loaded kitchen sink that dove into my belly today! Thanks for being a Huntsville icon and allowing this girl to relive a classic from oh a few years back and thanks for being the force in local politics and for providing jobs and incomes for s r butler high school throughout the years including my brother. Iconically, I shared the sub with my butler high school sorority sister. A sweet nostalgic delicious moment . rock on stanlios. And BTW: where does the name hail?

Stopped in during a disc golf tournament, we are from out of town. The service could have been friendlier but the food was spot on! We has the steak kabobs, our friends has the kitchen sink. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered.

It's a sub shop. I was not impressed with the sub sandwich that I had (can't remember what they called it, but it was a turkey and Swiss). Bread was just ok, which makes for a blah sandwich in my opinion. The bread always makes the difference! The restaurant itself was somewhat rundown (yes, for those of you that like dives, this is definitely a dive...) and needed cleaned. There were napkins and other small bits of trash on the floor. The staff was friendly.

Really? This place has more than one star? I usually never bash of a place. Only good places get my review, but this is a miss-for-sure establishment. I almost walked out but I was too hungry and didn't have time. The employees were wearing company t-shirts that looked like they hadn't changed or washed them in many days. The place itself was very dirty. Some times dives can have great food so I gave it a go. The sandwich was weak at best. Very small and too many peppers in relationship to the meat. The picture of the sandwich below is not clos The people that work there are very nice but they need to put on a fresh shirt every shift. I went to the Stanlieo's on Governors Dr.

They have a cult following in Huntsville, especially in the Oakwood University community. Their menu features a few vegetarian sandwich options and pretty good sides, especially the fried mushrooms. The meat eaters are happy here too as they feature quite a few options for hoagies. The OC special is pretty good.

Uh oh...what happened? It's St. Patrick's Day so it's a given...Reuben from Stanlieo's, right? Maybe they've sold too many today. Maybe cousin Colleen brought over a "better" recipe from the old country. It wasn't the same FANTASTIC sandwich I've been used to for years. Not as flavorful. Not as tender. Hardly any sauerkraut. Where's the onions... and for almost $2.00 more a sandwich? Others in the office noticed a difference with their Kitchen Sinks. Oh well...maybe a bad day(first in 20 years). I'll get over it.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about Stanlieo's? Love the Kitchen Sink sub. The Steak Bomb sub is also amazing! My favorite sandwich shop aside from Viet Sub!

Most awesome sub in the galaxy, the hot kitchen sink. While the decor is dated in both locations, go for the fresh bread, savory cuts, and tremendous cubed relish. Only thing that would make it better is not having to drive an hour to get my fix on Fridays.

I like this place. The hubby and I had the Kitchen Sink and the Reuben subs and the hubby was OK with the KS and I was OK with the Reuben. I wouldn't say it was the best sub I've ever had, but probably the best I've had in HSV. We watched some TV show that some other personnel were watching while we waited, which kept us entertained. Also, they have all the condiments on an old bureau in the dining room - took me a minute to figure it out, which is why I mention it here. All in all, not a bad experience. :)

Stanlieos Sub Villas is a place that I go during the week. I frequent other sub restaurants and I like to get the steak sub at Stanlieos on Wed., when it is their daily special. Their subs are "Boston style" because they dice their sub toppings. The location on Jordan Lane is typically busy when I go. I have never had a problem with my order, and the wait time is fairly reasonable considering that they are usually busy. The interior decor is a bit peculiar to me, since there is not one unified theme throughout the restaurant, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone I go with. And yes, I asked them their opinion. My biggest let down was that they don't do milkshakes, since there is one display box on the wall with a cow, and ice cream, and a milk shake container. I then assumed they did milk shakes, but they don't. Oh well. The ingredients on the subs taste great. What makes this place different is that the bread they use don't particularly have much taste, but the ingredients do. I wouldn't say it's necessarily bad, but if I owned the franchise, I would probably experiment with a bread that has some flavor that doesn't take away from the ingredients. There are random chairs inside the establishment, which is not a game-changer, but it doesn't have an inside vibe like they care much about the decor, as much as the food. Still not a bad thing, but once you start making money with a restaurant, you should consider upgrading the decor for the overall experience. If you don't mind the decorating flaws, and just care about the food, then definitely give Stanlieos a try. It is in my Top 5 sub places in Huntsville.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I have eaten here several times. As a part of a group of about 10 people, we met here weekly for several months. The food is pretty good and they have a great "Kitchen Sink" sandwich. Their hot dog is simply one of the bests in Huntsville. Most of the time the staff was friendly, other times they seemed a little overwhelmed. But the real downside was the cleanliness. Had I visited one time, perhaps I would have given them the benefit of the doubt. Coming week after week and seeing the same dirt and crumbs, though, we finally cried uncle and changed locations. I think about stopping often, because I did like the food, but the cleanliness issues have kept me away.

There is truly not another sub shop like this one. The food is great, but it is the incredible ladies that run this place that make it worth going to. ( Also note, I have visited the one on Jordan Lane and was disappointed each time. ) The one on Governor's however, has been my go to sub stop for almost three years now. They have awesome sweet tea and if you haven't tried their signature Kitchen Sink do it NOW!! There are also plenty of VEGETARIAN options and veggie meats, and all the bread is baked fresh daily. The only thing I would warn anyone about is the fact that the Italian seasoning has a good bit of oregano, which I am not fond of, so I ask for that to be left off. Otherwise the food is on point, but I have to say if it weren't for the fantastic group of women working there I may have looked elsewhere for tasty food. They are always smiling, cutting up with customers, and get your order ready fast. I hope they are paid what they are worth, because you cannot buy the work ethic or genuine warmth that those gals posses. Keep up the wonderful work!! :)

I grew up in Huntsville back in the late 70's/80's and my parents always spoke about this place. About a decade ago, I went back to town to visit my roots, and they suggested I stop off here. To my surprise, not only did it still exist, it is still fantastic! My recommendations are 'The Kitchen Sink' and 'The Steak Bomb'. Hot or cold, these are GREAT sandwiches. Not only do they have great quality steak and cold cuts, the way they cube the pickles, onions and tomatoes adds a great texture to the subs. Hot or cold is great, neither is a wrong answer. Their bread is not only fresh, but tastes much better than the bland corn-syrup laden bleh you get at Subway. My wife happens to be a vegetarian, and lo and behold, they offer a HUGE selection of vegetarian cold cuts. Not sure what veggie corned beef is crafted from, but she really liked their reuben. We always try to make it a detour on the way back from visiting relatives in Birmingham, it's out of the way from I65, but well worth it!

I LOVE the cold kitchen sink sub!!! There fried mushrooms & fried pickles are both tasty, too! As a Huntsville native, I grew up eating there & still do. My mom' s fave = the steak bomb - it has marinara sauce on it. My dad's fave = the steak combo I don't think they have a bad sandwich. Good hot dogs & sides, too.

Stanlieo's was a staple for me growing up in Huntsville. Any time I visit the area now, I always make a trip over. They have great subs (oh... the Kitchen Sink sub... mmmmmmm) but something that hasn't been mentioned - the FRIED MUSHROOMS. They make the absolute best fried mushrooms I have ever tasted. A homemade golden fried batter served with ranch on the side. I dream about these, people. And, as always, please support locally owned businesses over chains. Especially when they offer superior products.

My children and I ate here for lunch today because I had purchased a Groupon offer. As it turns out, the lady at the counter would not accept my Groupon because I only had my Groupon app, not an actual printout. Nevertheless, we decided to stay and eat. I had the Steak Kabob sub, my daughters had the kitchen sink sub. We also ordered the onion rings. The subs were bland and tasteless except for when we hit a salty patch. The service was surly, the restaurant was dingy and dirty, and the only good tasting food was the food they didn't make- the soda and chips. Next time you are thinking of going to Stanlieo's, do yourself a favor and go to Quizonos instead.

This is my go to place for a sub. Nothing like it in Huntsville. Locally owned and operated for over 30 years. I have been eating here for almost as long. The house favorite is called The Kitchen Sink - you can order it Hot or Cold. Most order it hot. My personal favorite is the Corned Beef. They bake their bread fresh daily and they use a topping of tomato/onion/spices/oil. You can leave this off, but to me it is what makes them unique. I also love their Fried Mushrooms. They also have a full line of completely Vegan subs. My husband's favorite is called a Pizza Sub. They have a drive thru, but you must call ahead and then go pick up. Usually takes about 10-15 minutes after you call. They have bonus cards - be sure to ask for them. Once you buy 6 or 8 sandwiches you get one free. This part has changed over the years, so pls forgive is this part is not correct. There is another location off Gov Drive. I like them both about the same, but those girls at Gov Drive have been there as long as I can remember so they are funny and entertaining. I like the Gov Drive location for eating in and it reminds me of my high school days when it was a Mando's . . . . . .

If you are in the mood for the best sub sandwich in Huntsville, this is the place to be. Service is always friendly and the food is wonderful. Order hot or cold, they can fix it. The "Hot Kitchen Sink" is my favorite.
