Beautiful dining room with mediocre service and food. All appetizer choices except for seafood dip were fried. Meat loaf was very good. Crab stuffed shrimp were fried, but waitstaff did not tell me that. Crab was minuscule. Atmosphere is lovely.

Just flew in and was STARVING! Checked in the hotel, conveniently attached, and made my way to the restaurant. Hostess asked my name and wrote it down in the book, maybe as proof that someone ate here. I expected things to be quiet on a Monday but I was alone! Honestly the food was just ok. The filet mignon was covered with some sauce and quite a bit of pepper. Covering something up? Salad = mehh. Server was friendly and attentive so thanks for that. Overall ok in a pinch, but not worthy of a $28 dollar steak, $11 glass of wine and $4 dude (green beans).

I doubt Porter's could survive as a restaurant if it were not inside a hotel which can choose to carry it financially. Most Marriott's have decent but not often exceptional restaurants. This one is bafflingly bad. The ribeye I was served was so dry and overcooked that I couldn't believe it was served. The broccoli was overcooked. I should have listened to the other reviews but I was exhausted and didn't want to go elsewhere. There was only one other table with people and I wish I had gone elsewhere.

Very expensive for what you get. Food is adequate for a hotel associated restaurant. The waitstaff was pleasant enough, but understaffed and overstressed. The drinking glasses had residue on them. The hostess was also waiting our table. Unacceptable.

This restaurant is in the Marriott Hotel. I went down to the restaurant and ordered takeout to bring back to my room. The wait staff was very accommodating and pleasant. I ordered a steak mashed potatoes and a salad. The steak was cook exactly as I ordered it and seasoned well and a salad was fresh. Overall it was a good experience.

Absolutely the worst restaurant service I've ever received. Had dinner with my husband on a Saturday evening. We were the only patrons in the entire restaurant (should have turned around right there). I had a hummus appetizer - straight from the jar in the fridge to a plate, cold and no flavor. Filet ($30.95) arrive medium rare instead of medium well, and we never saw the waitress again. I took the plate into the kitchen to have the steak cooked to order, and then had to walk out of the dining room to the hostess station to get our drinks refilled. Give this place a miss and head to Ruth's Chris instead.

This place is a hidden gem inside the Marriott Hotel, Huntsville. As a frequent traveler, I can attest to the quality of the steak. Agree with previous reviews that the place is a bit pricey, but the quality of any steak I've enjoyed has been very high. Skip the white bean chicken chili--go for the filet. Find dessert elsewhere. The high quality meal ends before dessert begins. Their Kokoko Pie is some concoction of coffee ice cream in a chocolate cookie crust. You could create the same thing with a pint of ice cream and a package of oreos from a gas station. Ashame.. because the meal leading up to dessert is fantastic. The staff has always been attentive and open to special requests. Had dinner here last night and again tonight. I will dine here again on my next trip to Huntsville. Overall, another great meal!
