The expected olive Garden food. BUT our server had an attitude and made us feel like we were bothering him with our requests. Plus he was hard to find. Other tables around us were experiencing e same thing with him. Ordered takeout last week. Waited ONE HOUR past the time they said it would be ready. Other take out customers were experiencing the same. If I had not had several people to feed, I would not have tolerated it.

The service was horrific when I went to this restaurant. It took them 30 minutes to bring us our checks after the meal and they never even came to tell us what the problem was or why it was taking so long.

This review is for the take out service only. We got two of the takeout sized salads for a family dinner at home. They claim to serve 6 people, and we had ~ 13 people there. We had WAY too much salad. So, their portions are super generous. Get half as much as you think you'll need. They provided an abundance of salad dressing. Some breadsticks and even included the cute andes mints in a take out container. It was really well packed and included all the fixings with every detail covered. Salad was fresh and crisp. The wait was about 10 minutes past the time promised, but neice and I hung out and chatted, no biggie.

Got seated right away bur then had to wait 10 min to be greeted by server Jeanette. Went ahead and ordered simple (soup and salad). Waiting...waiting... Oh just noticed that couple who sat down AFTER us got their (same thing we ordered) BEFORE us, hmmm?! So glad we're not in a hurry!

I love Olive Garden! They had wonderful food! They made the food pretty fast to! It was delicious! The building was so classy, It made me feel so fancy! They only problem was the price, it was a little on the high side. Besides that I love the place!

I took my Mom and Daughter there for dinner tonight. (Jan 11 2015) One of the top 5 Worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. The place was filthy. I should have turned and ran when I went to wash my hands and found the restrooms so nasty.. I felt like I needed a shower when I walked out. It took the waitress 15 min to get to our table to take our order. Our food was awful... the Chicken was like rubber and the Alfredo was cold so I sent my food back, I was not offered anything to replace it..(the waitress took my whole plate back) When we got the bill I was charged for my food. After talking to the Manager he took the bill back to "adjust" it. He took $4.00 off and he said he charged me for what was eaten (which was 2 smalls bites of the chicken .The waitress never came back to pick up the check so I finally had to take the bill up to the Manager so I could pay and leave. I have never written a Restaurant review before but was so disgusted about this visit that I felt others should know how horrible the service is here before spending $60 on dinner. I will NEVER visit this location again.

Stopped by the venerable Olive Garden on University Drive in Huntsville. We had eaten there a few years back but have stayed away given its "questionable" physical location e.g. neighborhood. However we were out running errands and decided to give it a go. Let me just say that the physical attributes of the restaurant remain the same. It is showing its age. However we were presently surprised by the service and attention to detail afforded us by our waiter Austin. According to the General Manager he had just gotten out of training and was on his game! It was obvious though that this was not his first waiter job. We wanted for not. We had the soup and salad and it was a terrific value. The only negative thing I can say was that the salad appeared a bit wilted, not inedible, but certainly it did not look fresh. Either way we had a very enjoyable lunch. As an added kicker, I found a five spot on my way to the bathroom! We relayed our feelings to the GM and he appeared appreciative of same.

This is a good Italian chain restaurant. I was pleased with the service, and the food was well prepared. The beers were overpriced for the Huntsville area, and you had to ask them for the Andes mints that come with the check. That is the best part of receiving the check. I would eat there again.

I haven't been to an Olive Garden for a while. This Huntsville Olive Garden stays crowded. I loved the food (Chicken Marsala, salad, and breadsticks) but our server was horrible. She pretty much disappeared and only came back when it was time for the check. Quick Tip servers: If I have to ask you for a refill, your tip just went down 50%. I've had servers that were like hawks and had a new glass on the table when the other was half empty and then I've had servers that wouldn't know if I died from dehydration... Anyways, if you want Italian in Huntsville, either try Carabba's or make it yourself at home. The food here is good, but customer service is bad enough that I won't be back.

Food and Service -Great! Location - Bad. I have had excellent repeat experiences at this Olive Garden. I have even had my graduation party here. The food is always great. The service is always great. The only caution would be the safety of the patron visiting the restaurant. The only negative to this location is that you usually have to park in the back of the parking lot, and the motels on both sides of the establishment have a lot of drug activity. So bad that I occasionally see an Olive Garden security guard sitting in the parking lot. Drug Seekers will even walk from the motel on one side to the other via the parking lot, and you will see the occasional scuffle outside of motel rooms, and will often see hotel rooms with doors open. This is so people can just walk right in. I think it was a good move for Olive Garden to have a security guard in the parking lot. I'm not sure if he is armed, because between the drug lords and addicts on the right and left, you never know what to expect when eating at this Olive Garden.

I haven't been to an Olive Garden in years. Upon entering this Olive Garden, you are hit with the pungent odor of garlic butter. I love garlic, but it was a bit too much. We started with the Mussels di Napoli. There were a lot but many of the mussels were small. But the best part about ordering mussels is the broth. Our waiter tried to clear the dish, but we kept it around for breadstick dipping. Thank goodness because the breadsticks were horrible! Not how I remembered them. I ordered the soup, salad and breadstick meal with the Chicken & Gnocchi to start. I didn't get to any other soups because I was already so full. The soup was fine. The first bowl of salad was full of wilted lettuce. The second seemed fresh and included olives. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't up to the standard I'm used to. The two stars seem to say it all: Meh.

There is a reason Olive Garden is always crowded! I had lunch today - the service was outstanding and the Chicken Marsala to die for! I highly recommend them, but go early or be prepared to wait because lots of people seem to agree with me.

My experience at Olive Garden was extremely bipolar. On one side the the food was exquisite and delicious, reasonable price, lots of food and the variety of pastas is extensive. Though the appetizer arrived halfway through our entree. Our waiter might've been slightly high and clearly was meandering pointlessly and forgetting orders. Hard to get his attention, a single minded drone, he was indeed. Though he did give us mints at the end, and they were delicious. (because we told him to keep the change.)

The food at this Olive Garden is consistently delicious! However, I've had a mixed bag in regards to service - some extremely attentive and a few that seemed to have more important things to do. There is always a wait, but never as long as some Olive Gardens I've been to.

The food was terrible. Service was terrible. Breadsticks were hard, asked for fresh and they were still hard. If you want fresh food, don't dine here. Wine glasses were dirty too!

I am a semi regular lunch customer. I eat lunch and sit at the bar. The bartenders know my face and know what I am going to order. Everyone is very cordial and it is a great experience every time. Is it authentic Italian food, no. But is what we Americans like...yes! Bring on the garlic! This is the only place I go to get a salad on purpose!

Hubby and I stopped in while in town; our hotel restaurant was awful. This is, by far, the best Olive Garden we have ever been to. They were super busy, being a Sunday after church, but the Host and Servers had everything under control and the whole place moved very smoothly. We had a few issues but all were resolved in a timely manner. We split a Hummus App which was topped with fresh roasted, whole cloves of garlic. A garlic and hummus lovers DREAM. Absolutely delicious. I had the Seafood Prescatore. It was amazing. My first plate came out with a hair in it but they replaced it. We ended up getting my replacement to go and didn't realize till we got home that it didn't have any clams. However, this didn't really bother me because the dish is just that good. It does have a slight smoky spice, but nothing too strong. Hubs had a chicken dish that he customized with a mix of marinara and alfredo; it was delicious as were all the soups he tried. He literally had one bowl of all their soups. My favourite was their "Chilli". Definitely not your typical chilli, but oh so flavorful. We HIGHLY recommend the Apple Bread Pudding while it lasts. It is heaven on a plate and is also good warmed up at home. We will definitely be visiting next time we're in town.

This is my second poor review for Olive Garden.. so my advice to you is to GO TO MACARONI GRILL INSTEAD! Despite being displeased with the service at Olive Garden on several occasions, we had dinner there last night. BIG MISTAKE. Our waitress, JENNIE D. (according to the receipt), was extremely unwelcoming and rude, to say the least! First, Jennie asked if we were done with the salad so she could take it away even when the bowl wasn't empty and we were clearly still eating salad. Five minutes after receiving our entrees, she asked if we wanted boxes. And when we asked for bread sticks she acted like it was a huge inconvenience to her and placed them on the table in passing, without even acknowledging us or picking up the empty tray. She then placed to-go boxes and the check on our table while we were still eating without asking if we were ready. And she didn't even give us mints!! I mean, isn't that normally what they do at Olive Gardens?! Some chocolate may have at least distracted us from her blatant rudeness!!! Finally, I signed the check and still had the book open when she came and picked it up off the table! I had the decency to tip her, but clearly shouldn't have, because it probably gave her the notion that she actually did her job properly. Clearly, Olive Garden doesn't value customer service. As I said before if you are considering Olive Garden tonight... GO TO MACARONI GRILL! They will never make you feel like you need to eat quickly and get out of there because you are a huge inconvenience to them, they wait for you to ask for the check and to-go boxes, and always offer dessert and to-go drinks. The prices are comparable to OG, the food is amazing, and most importantly, the staff is friendly and inviting!!

I'm only giving them 2 stars because the food was good, normal OG standard...the rest, uhm, 1/2 star - restaurant is dirty, old, worn & smells - service was abysmal & even hubby got irritated (& he's much nicer than I am concerning restaurants)...I've ate at OG in various locations & states, this was by far the worst...redecorate, clean it up, change staff & manager & you'll have a good restaurant again!

So as a server at another restaurant, I was highly disappointed in our service. We were immediately sat, but it took a few minutes for our server to come to our table. Granted, he seemed really busy. But the manager should be keeping up with how many tables each server has. After taking our drink order, he came back with two of three drinks. He said the third drink was having to be made at the bar so it would take longer- there was no alcohol in it. We eventually got the last drink and ordered our food. We ordered appetizers, salads, entrees, and deserts all at the same time so we could get it out faster. After our server didn't write anything down, we were worried our food would come out wrong. When trying to clarify, he just kept interrupting us saying "I gotchu". When the appetizer came out wrong, we tried to clarify again and he did the same thing. I went and retrieved the manager. He fixed our order and comped our meal. We also got a new server. I appreciate the manager doing what he did, but that should have never happened in the first place. If that would have happened at our restaurant, we would have been sent home immediately. I won't be going back due to lack of service. On another note, the food was okay. Not the best italian food I've ever had, but it wasn't awful. I will continue going to Terranova's italian restaurant instead. Much better food and service.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
