    3 1/2 stars Decent food. I ordered a gyro wrap and a side of fries. The seasoned beef was quite tasty but the overall wrap was dry. They were kind to give me extra taziki sauce on request which helped a lot. My husband had the chicken special which he liked but said wasn't actually anything special. I'd be willing to go back (because I love Greek food) and try a gyro combo plate but I wasn't too impressed with my first visit. They do offer an extensive menu of espresso and coffee drinks as well as some fruit smoothies. The atmosphere is a little hole in the wall-ish but I generally like that sort of thing so it worked for me.

    Great food and really personable staff. The variety is astounding, and the drink menu is pretty sharp as well. If you want something out of the ordinary this is a good place to go. I had the chicken breast and wild rice - it was fantastic. We also ordered some flafels to share and they were good as well. I'm kind of pressed for time - but if you're reading this looking for a place to eat, go ahead and stop in. It's worth a try.

    We had lunch here today. It was yummy. My boyfriend and I disagree a bit on the stars... he wanted to give 5 .. me 4, he won! He had the lamb kabobs which had a great flavor and were very tender. This was served with rice, a salad, hummus and pita. I had a Greek salad. It was large and yummy. The only issue, it was iceberg lettuce. I would have liked some mixed greens. Others than that, it was great. Loaded with feta, peppers, onions and olives (which had pits). We completed our meal with baklava and coffee. It was some of the best I've had. All in all.. a cute little restaurant with great food.

    Jamo's was a nice place to go for a casual dinner. It's very quiet, cheap, and laid-back. You can sit inside or outside. Although it's next to a big road, the outside patio is nice, if a little bit spider-infested. The people who work here are great! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they all at least pretended to laugh at my jokes. Portions were great for the price. I got the falafel plate and hummus, and I thought everything was delicious and unique. My friend was not as impressed, but said that's just because her taste buds have evolved to exclusively love Waffle House and Zaxby's. Cool place to go for a chill, affordable meal!

    I am not sure why people said this place looks sketchy, it looks fitting for it's area. I absolutely enjoyed my meal great Gyro and so e zen tea! The food was so fresh! I could literally taste the grill. I am not sure if that is a plus for other yelpers, but for me it speaks volumes about the way you handled my food. By handled I mean cooked it as soon as I ordered it:) get a gyro good food good price! Go eat and Enjoy!

    Perfectly good falafel's (nowhere near Mamoun's in NYC or New Haven, CT, that take the falafal to an art form, but OK). Nice tasty little salad with feta cheese and black olives, all for $7 or so. My only problem is the pita bread. Why offer that cold stale pish on the side? heat is up on the grill for a few seconds, before you cut it, go on, make the effort. Also, how about having some arab/middle eastern tea on the go. So much better than that overpriced Tazo stuff.

    An easy walk from the UAH campus, Jamo's is a great place for a study break and snack. Their hummus was my comfort food when I lived in Huntsville! The falafel is also yummy -- especially since Mediterranean options are seriously lacking in the Huntsville area. Another plus: the outdoor seating is great during nice weather.

    Jamos is both the place where I first tried falafel and the place where I fell in love with it. Though small and earnest in appearance the folks at Jamos Cafe offer up great value for delicious Mediterranean cuisine. If you've never tried falafel before, this is the place were I'd recommend giving it a chance, but even if you're not feeling adventurous enough to try the "fried green things" (c'mon, green eggs and ham people, what would Dr. Seuss say?) there are still plenty of other quality menu items like their gyros and kabobs. You can get the wraps if you want, but my personal suggestion? Get the plates. They're worth it for the extra cost, and your taste buds get to take the full Tour de Jamos. Long story short? Jamos is a neat little local dive. If you enjoy greek or Mediterranean food at all I would definitely suggest taking the plunge.

    I was looking for some local flavor for lunch today, a place the locals frequent with decent food. Success! Jamo's is a very unassuming roadside joint. I drove by the place yesterday and I just got a sense this place was special. So here I am today for lunch. So when you first walk in you get a sense this place is simple, no fancy menus, nothing overly fancy in terms of decor, just good food. You order your food at the counter and they bring it out to your table. I liked that they had large seating areas both inside and out. I ordered the gyro sandwich for lunch. I really liked that the sandwich was not huge! I've been to gyro joints where the stuff the pita with so much meat you can't even handle it as a sandwich, no less feel guilty about consuming so much food. No, Jamo's does the gyro right in my book. Now, for the interesting twist. They put pickles on their gyro sandwiches! This was a first for me but I loved it, what a great taste! This place is well worth the stop in my book, i really enjoyed my lunch at Jamo's! Two thumbs up!

    I'd go back again, but Jamo's was nothing to write home about. I always get excited when I find an underground place; sometimes that's where you can find the most awesome, authentic food. Jamo's didn't quite shock-and-awe me as much as I'd hoped. Other reviews are right: it's kind of a hole in the wall. It looks pretty sketchy from the outside but doesn't feel that way at all once you enter. Despite its somewhat dilapidated exterior, the food was okay. (Just okay, though.) My friends and I ordered a variety of dishes for lunch: a falafel plate, falafel pita wrap, and I had lentil soup and a veggie pita wrap. (It was interesting that you could hear see a man cooking these dishes as they were ordered. The food preparation area isn't in an entirely separate room, so the sounds and smells of cooking fill the cafe area.) I felt like everything I ordered was pretty fresh, which was nice. My biggest complaint was that the food was really under-seasoned. The sauteed vegetables in my pita didn't really have much flavor. There was some kind of faint sauce that was a bit tangy and vinegary, which was good, but this too lacked strong flavor. The lentil soup was kind of just an under-seasoned, textureless slop in a bowl. Finally, I had a cappuccino, which was ok. Having been a barista for almost three years in the past, I pay attention when people prepare my coffee. It wasn't hard to miss the screaming sound of unfrothed milk being steamed and scalded in the process. (Yes, friends, that same really annoying sound that you hear in Starbucks when a barista has no idea how to steam milk-- they don't create foam first, so the steaming of the milk starts making an unbearably loud screaming sound.) I mean, the food was hearty (and it was cold out), the service was friendly, and I like supporting local businesses when possible. You'll probably enjoy the food but not be blown away by it. It leaves a lot to be desired.

    Baba Ghanouj is tasty, $3.79 buys a generous portion. Add it to a grilled chicken special at $6.95 and you've got a filling meal. The fat is from healthy olive oil, so it's guilt free. If you're dining light with a companion, try sharing: 1 chicken special, 1 order Baba G., and 1 Greek salad. You'll both be pleasantly sated, and if not, there's always the baklava (only $1.50).

    My local co-workers took me there for the first time. Total hole in the wall, which I loved. Who needs a fancy place when there's great food? :) Love me some hole in the walls! I ordered the gyro platter. I assumed it came with fries, as most platters do. I was SO THANKFUL it didn't; rather, it came with a delicious salad and tzaziki sauce and pita - hurrah! I LOVED the salad; the dressing was homemade and truly Middle Eastern and hit the spot. To the person who wrote "don't get the salad", I disagree. I'd go back just for it! :) The gyro meat was delicious, and served on a bed of delicious wild rice pilaf. Definately was a combination of beef and something else... lamb? Goat? Regardless, was delish. Served with a large portion of tzaziki sauce. I'm looking forward to returning to Huntsville and trying more things on the menu. I'm from the DC area and know good good, and this is a gem! :) I'd give 5 stars if the pita bread were better. I'm not much of a bread eater, but thicker, warmer bread would've been the bomb... and 5 stars. And to the peeps calling this "Greek" food; noooooo... Middle Eastern, not Greek!!!
