Although the place is nice, the service (at the bar) was terrible. Not to mention they overcharged my credit card and I had to dispute it with my bank. I'm not going back there again. Parking sucks, too few spots.

My wife and ate there last night. I am very aware that there is ALWAYS a wait there during peak feeding times. Therefore, I always go there after peek times. We have been there 4 times and every meal has been great. Our first visit was at feeding time and the wait was 30-45 min. We r not ones to wait patiently so we simply went to the bar and ate with no wait. In fact, we have eaten at the bar every time. That way you always get good service! Also, we share a plate because the serving sizes are quite large....FYI

I'm not sure why this place always has a wait when I drive by. I've tried my best to give this place a chance(because co-workers always want to eat here for lunch), but after my third meal at this chain restaurant, I've concluded Cheddar's is tasteless, over-salted, over-processed slop. People, just because you get a lot of food doesn't mean its good!!! I give it one star because the service, at least, has always been decent on my visits.

Never returning to this Cheddars. My wife sucked up a live roach on 6-29-12 through her straw. Nastiest thing ever. We waited several minutes for the manager after our waitress went to get him/her and finally decided to leave.

All I have to say is: Philly Cheesesteak and the Painkiller. To. Die. For.

Went to Cheddar's during the disaster while the power was still out and they were running on generators. The service was excellent, food was hot and well prepared, drinks were cold...

In spite of the tremendous line and the 30 minute wait, I thought Cheddar's was pretty good. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. The prices seemed more than reasonable, particularly given the portion size. My companion and I both chose the Spagna. Served with a slice of garlic bread. The Spagna is a huge mound of cheese and noodles topped with either marinara or meat sauce. Since both of us are carnivores, we chose the meat sauce. It was seasoned well with large chunks of onions. Quite tasty. I would absolutely try it again, there were several other menu options that were interesting, but I will probably wait until it is slightly less popular so we won't have to wait so long...

Had the blackened salmon with red beans and rice for lunch. It was very good. Get here early (before 11) or be prepared to wait.

We had a larger group and unfortunately they don't have space to accommodate over 20 people so we were split up amongst 4 nearby tables. Food is pretty decent and can stand up against other major American fare joints. We ordered almost every appetizer on the menu and everything was tasty. Our servers were super nice so we made sure to leave them a hefty tip. I'd definitely return when the crowd is not so thick because just like others mentioned, its gets hectic around the dinner hour.

Lack of cleanliness of plates and table (not just one plate either) made us leave after the appetizer. Will never go back. Waited about an hour only to walk out. Terrible.

Cheddar's reminds me of a very upscale Shoney's for some reason. The food is comfort type food, cooked well and served nicely in generous portions and value priced. The spinach dip was really good (we scrapped the bolw clean!). I have had the Spasagna, Chicken Fried Chicken and Grilled Salmon...each dish was very enjoyable.

Why do people still wait outside to eat at this place? Am I missing something? Every time I've eaten here, the food is always so meh and mediocre. My husband really likes the $5 burgers, but other than that, I don't see the hype.

I was in town traveling for business and visited Cheddar's as it seemed busy over a period of a couple nights. Unfortunately for me and my friend, this experience was way below par. We got in with no wait at 9pm into the bar area. After that, we were informed by a person who brought our waters that it would be a minute because our waitress had to go to the bathroom. *How off putting is that?* After placing our order, we did not get our appetizer, received our meal but were missing 2 side orders, our roll, and then it took about 30 minutes to get a refill on water. Once the bills came, we gave our payments and the printer went down and it took almost 25 minutes to get the problem fixed. The assistant manager came over and did not explain the problem or have a solution for us. And I did not receive change at first for the money I used to pay our drink tab. Total time at the restaurant for the two of us was almost 2 1/2 hours and we only had one drink and an entree and a side dish each. Even worse was that the waitstaff and the manager did not seem to take any ownership over this horrible experience for us (or the 3 other tables that seemed to be impacted). I know where not to go upon my return to this city. It's sad to feel this frustrated about a joint when your bill is so inexpensive. Super Disappointed and just NOT worth it.

Gross!!!! I can't believe we had to wait 20 min to get a table. We ordered a baked potato soup (tasted like a canned soup) and a Shepherd pie (nasty, gross, enough to feed 4 hungry men who love onions). Never again.

  • Gary B.

I couldn't decide so I ordered both the salmon and catfish. Portion size was very large but you can order the lunch portion even at dinner. The salmon was a little under seasoned and the catfish a little over. They also gave me mashed potatoes when I ordered broccoli (took it to go so I just dealt with it). It was a good meal and I would repeat. I didn't try any but while waiting I saw some of the desserts and they looked incredible.

It's average. Food quality is about on par with other chain American "flair" restaurants. No better or worse. Service is acceptable but not stellar. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from any "family" restaurant. The nice thing, though, it the price. This is probably one of the only places left in Huntsville where two people can get an appetizer, two main courses and a couple of soft drinks and the price be under $25.

I was seriously considering giving them only one star, but the food was good. First, we arrived on a Sat between 11am and 1pm and it was packed. We waited at the bar for about 30 minutes to be seated. The bartender was not schooled well. He served Merlot in a chilled glass and Chardonnay at room temperature. He was very courteous and kind though! I wish I could say the same about our server. She was uninterested and unwelcoming. The kitchen must have been really behind because we waited over 30 minutes for our food. The portions were a good size. I had the fish tacos. I have to say it was a very tasty dish. She never refilled our drinks and the restaurant charged for bread before the meal.

Oh where to begin. I have been here maybe 6-7 times since they opened in Huntsville and was mostly pleased the first couple of times, but it went downhill fast. Between the ridiculously LONG wait, the mediocre & unprofessional waitstaff & bartenders, the microwaving crew/"cooks", and the high sodium--like off the chart kinda high salt food, this place is NOT worth your time or money. Yes it's cheap and you get large portions, but anyone with a decent food palate who has ever stepped foot out of Alabama will not be at all impressed with Cheddars. I would rather get a burger from Wendy's than get the most expensive thing on Cheddars menu. I think part of the problem is management, but mainly their supply of probably frozen, poor quality food. Their health department rating has been lower than it should have been (for a newer establishment) more than once. I was also told once by a bartender there that no one working in the kitchen speaks Englush so that is why our orders were always screwed up. Such a shame! I wanted to like it! I can do better in my own kitchen, but luckily we have a lot of dining options in the area.

  • J Q.

I feel I am being generous with 2 stars. The food in general is good when not saltly but the wait and the service are not worth it. I feel you should not have to wait 90 minutes for any restaurant. Then to wait another 30 minutes at the table for service is outrageous. The waiters seemed to be congregating around and socializing while tables were simply ignored. Our bread (which was not free), appetizers and entree arrived at the same time and our sides took another 20 minutes. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to this place.

    (2)
  • J L.

My husband and I visit Cheddars frequently as the food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. But...the service is awful and depending on the bartender, sometimes the drinks are great and sometimes they are very weak. We have had both good and bad experiences at this place.

  • Panda B.

It's so darn crowded all the freakin' time! I don't understand it. The food is ok at best. However, it's very cheap with huge portion. I always have left overs for dinner or next day's lunch. But it's not worht waiting or strategizing over since there's always a huge lines...

Sat down promptly. Sat for 20 minutes while other guests who came in after me got waited on. We got up an walked out. I'll never cross that doorway again.

One of my favorite places to go for a great weekend meal. They're always busy so you know it's good!

Me and my folks went here the other day and all 3 of us enjoyed our meal greatly. This place continually packed so we thought to ourselves it must be good. And good it was. I dont mind in any way going to a chain restaurant as long as it is good and Cheddars is VERY good. We had two appitizers.....we are pigs. The onion rings and the spinash cream dip. The onion rings were the thick cut kind and were served built like a tower at close to a foot tall. It was pretty cool. The spinish dip was flaforful and awesome. I had the chicken and steak which was cooked to perfection. I cant remember what my parents had but i remember them saying they loved what they had. Our waitress was excellant too. Very friendly. I will eat at Cheddars again.

  • Johnny B.

First impression, this looks a lot like Friday's or Chili's or any number of American style restaurants... You should go with your first impression. Nothing special here, you are not going to a fancy place, with a snooty overdressed waitstaff and inflated prices. The portions are large and cooked well. The food is good enough to make this a regular haunt, but not up to the "special occasion" level. Go here if you are looking for good food, a competent staff and clean dining area.

This place will always have a sentimental spot in my heart, since during our first year of marriage with not a whole lot of money to spare, this is where we went for Christmas Eve dinner after a stressful day of work. Now, setting apart the sentimentality, this place is somewhere between fast food and sit-down service places like Applebees in quality. Think Red Robin, but ridiculously crowded. The food has been great for the price per portion, but it's not great food full stop. The wait is often prohibitive, even a full year after it opened. If you're looking for a family-friendly place with a variety of food options in a decent budget, this is a good pick. I put price at $11-30 per person because that's what ours averages out to, but it's possible to get under or around $10 with their burgers. The wife and I suggest the Texas Cheese Fries for an appetizer. It's ridiculously huge in portion. I normally get a burger, since they're cheap, and she gets the New Orleans pasta every time.

Went at lunch today to celebrate a co-workers birthday and as soon as I walked in the first set of double doors I saw the health rating, an 81. My first instinct was to run since the passing grade is 85. My friends were already seated so I gave it a shot. Big mistake. When I opened my menu to make a selection, it was greasy, stained, and had some kind of syrupy water spots all over it. We split an order of chips and queso and the salsa was runny and there was barely enough chips to feed four. I ordered a chicken finger "basket" with fries, buffalo style and they were pretty good. Took a little long for them to arrive but our waiter was very nice and checked with us often, keeping our drinks filled. Managed to get out of there in under an hour, which is unusual, but instead of going to Target like I wanted to after, I had to make an immediate dash to my office and visit the restroom. To say I had an upset stomach would be an understatement. Normally this is a pretty good place. The lines are too long if you get there after 12pm, but they do give you a lot of food for the money. It's one of the few places in Huntsville you can get a Monte Christo, the "ham donut" a previous reviewer mentioned. It'll just be awhile before I go back. And good luck trying to find the nutritional information on any dish in there.

Yes, the wait is crazy here. It's worth it. The food is great, drinks are cold and tasty, service is friendly, and prices reasonable. A combination that is difficult to nail so well anywhere else in town. We've been here several times for lunch. My husband and I usually share a meal because the portions are crazy big. The lunch combo at $5.99 or $6.99 is a fantastic deal. The baked potato soup is awesome, but the best is the Monte Cristo sandwich. Fab. Their onion rings are great, and they have a large assortment of cocktails that aren't ridiculously priced. I can't comment on dessert, as we've been too stuffed to ever make it that far. We've been very pleased with this joint, every time. Consistency FTW. Update: We've come back many more times, and the shine's worn off. Too greasy, drinks are made with cheap mixers... It's just cheap, all the way around.

Called last Wednesday asking about reservations for last Friday. They don't do reservations on the weekend. That's fine, we can manage. I'm trying to do something nice for my employees and take them out for dinner. Ask about a potential wait time on a Friday for a party of 12. "45 min to an hour" is all that's said. Perfectly acceptable. One of my employees goes to Cheddar's a little early on Friday and puts in a reservation for 12. No problem. Another employee doesn't see the co-worker and tries to put in a reservation for 12. She is told that they can't do a party of 12 but they can do 2 parties of 6. Now we are confused. When I called, nothing was said about not being able to accommodate a party of 12. When the first employee put in the reservation, nothing was said. Ultimately, they don't do parties of 12, only 10. Which was nice to find out when everyone is already there. Something about a fire hazard. It's going to be more than a hazard when I set this place on fire. And I think I'll be doing the community a favor, because the mindless sheep will then be forced to find somewhere with quality food. I'm even sorry that I agreed to eating here. I assure you, it wasn't my first choice. We ended up going to Phil Sandoval's next door and were very happy with not only our party of 12, but also the food. So happy in fact, that I didn't even contemplate watching it go up in flames.

Both the fries for my Texas Cheese Fries and for my Jalapeño Burger were soft, mushy and greasy. The burger itself was bland and overcooked, and the "toppings" consisted of about 4 fried jalapeños and a slice of cheese. I felt no heat at all. The service was also really slow. They seemed understaffed at peak hours on a Friday night. Overall, a bad experience.

I went with a group of about 20 people. None of us were expecting much. We'd called ahead to ensure we could be seated together, perhaps at one or two long tables. Instead we were seated in a corner at four different tables, so instead of us all eating together (like in the Viking days) we were all eating in little groups. As you can imagine, Nikolay wasn't pleased with this arrangement. The server was pleasant and the temperature at my table was about 73 degrees. I'd put the humidity at 35-40%. So that was nice. Our drinks came out in about 15 minutes. I had the water, but most restaurants can't seem to understand that 'no' means 'NO!' when it comes to lemons in water. Cheddar's was no different and the lemon Nazis sure enough defaulted to putting a lemon in my water. Vile, vile fruit! I've been called 'sweet heat' before so that's what I ordered. It was advertised as sweet and spicy shrimp and chicken on a bed of rice with a side salad. It was from their 'Lighter Side' menu, which I found to be full of delightful names. Nothing as entertaining as 'Moon Over MyHammy' but it still contained some funny names. 'Sweet Heat' clocked in at under 600 calories, I believe. I got my food about 45 minutes after ordering it. By that time I was ready to gnaw off my own GD hands like a wolverine, I was so hungry. It was room temperature and had about three skrimps on it, the kind you see in shrimp cocktail. Nothing impressive. In fact, the entire dish was forgettable and so was Cheddar's. The wait was too long, far too long, and the food wasn't worth it. It was pretty much like Chili's or TGIF or Appleby's. Nikolay not pleased. Yes, our group was large but we called days ahead and still got crappy seating and whatnot. Net, Cheddar's...net. Do svidaniya. Do svidaniya i nadeyus', chto moya zhena vozvrashchayetsya v Rossiyu.

I don't get it. There was a long wait and after eating there I am really not sure why. We were sat next to a waiters station. The waitress took forever to get our drink order. She then came back and informed us our drinks would take a while since they had no clean glasses. I ordered sweet tea and received unsweetened. I waited another fifteen minutes to get the drink replace. The menu is a basic rehash of Bennagin's or O'Charleys. Nothing new here. The food came after a long wait. We did have the entertainment of being next to the waiters station and listening to them complain about coworkers, management, customers, and tips. Five waiters just standing there doing nothing. No wonder there was a wait. There wait staff was not doing their job. The salad seemed a little old, not fresh. The Monte Christo sand which I had was a greasy, doughy ball of blandness. One order of grilled fish tacos arrived as fried fish tacos. Took forever to correct and were not very tasty. Drinks were not filled promptly and overall the food was cheap and tasted even cheaper. I would skip this monstrosity of blandness. You will wait a long time to be extremely disappointed. There was a long wait and big crowds but I can't tell you why.

Went to Cheddar's for lunch and got the chicken and waffles. It was pretty good and filling. The chicken was nice, tender and huge. The waffle was moist and rather tasty. I was actually surprised at the flavor. I normally get the Philly cheese stake but I went with something new and I was not disappointed.

Every time we've driven by Cheddar's and its ALWAYS packed, but figured we'd try it out. Food is good, price is better (under $30 for two of us) and big Margarita for like $4 bucks, hello!! LOL. And this is the ONLY place that we've seen on the drinks menu that people are only allowed 2 of this alcoholic beverage. And that's just funny to me... I think I'll order next time just to see.... But its worth the wait to get in, cheap food, but that sure doesn't mean there food is bad, its GREAT. Try it out.

My very first visit. I've seen how busy this place has been and every time I've driven by the parking lot is always full and people standing outside waiting to get in. This time we got in immediately on one of the RARE occasions when there was no wait. Sat down and inspected the menu. The menu selections weren't really that good. Both the the menu and the waitress bragged how great the ribs were so I ordered them. Guess what, out of ribs. Left without eating.

Maybe I"m a snob who doesn't like chains, but I don't understand why people want to go here. It is so crowded. I can go to any number of chain restaurants and get similar food without the hour long wait. The food is okay, but it's just like every other chain restaurant.

Came here for lunch today... I wish they had more options for salads, but the lasagna made with spaghetti noodles turned off fine. The service was not the best, but the food came out quick for a Sunday lunch.

We've visited this place a few other times in the last couple years, and I was quickly reminded of why our visits are far and few when walking thru the doors last Friday night. ATMOSPHERE & AMBIANCE 2.5/5 Aside from the cool island-like ceiling fans above and the dark wood decor, the ambiance was adequate. Underwhelmed by the atmosphere and crowd, we hoped our experience w the food and service would be different. Sadly, it was not. While there was no wait, we were promptly escorted and seated in the bar section of the restaurant. Our booth table was sticky and obviously not thoroughly cleansed after the last patrons. There was a spill on the booth bench, and it took 3 clear requests before the waiter finally came w a rag to wipe things down. Unappealing for my taste. SERVICE 1.5/5 Although friendly, the service was at a snails pace Friday night. It was obviously a busy night. While it took forever to place our order, they got it wrong! And our drinks took at least 15 minutes just to get one of the two out to us, another 20 for the other. FOOD 2/5 To start, hubby ordered the TEXAS SWEET TEA ($4.49) which is a mix of firefly sweet tea vodka, amaretto, lemonade and supposedly more vodka. We didn't see why this drink was limited to 2 per guest as it was lacking much in taste and affect. I ordered a martini - the ULTIMATE COSMOPOLITAN ($7.29) which is a mix of Ketel One citroen, cointreau orange liquor, cranberry juice, and sweet & sour. I ordered this particularly for my preferred vodka, Ketel One, but after my 3rd sip realized I could have made a better concoction in the comforts of my home w genuine Ketel One. This cosmo seemed to have more juice than anything else and a lower shelf quality vodka, hence only one ordered. As for our meals, we ordered the following: JALAPEÑO BURGER ($5.99) which had slices of crisp fried jalapeño, pepper jack cheese, onions, tomato, and chipotle mayo smothered on top of what was supposed to be a half lb burger grilled medium well. Hubby thought it was ok, but not the best. I'd say it was savorless. TOP SIRLOIN STEAK (8oz $9.99) was not prepared correctly when it first came out. I requested the steak to be medium, but it came well - more like over well done. Not pleased w this. While the presentation 'looked' appealing, the size did not. The steak appeared smaller than the menu described 8oz. It looked more like a 6oz., maybe even a 5oz. Immediately I broke out my phone to capture it while it laid on a bed of thinly sliced and fried onion rings, and the 2 choice sides of broccoli cheese casserole and mac & cheese. Before I could take a pic, the waiter quickly returned and asked if I could check the steak if it's prepared to my liking. Phone went down w/o a shot, knife went in, and low and behold I was disappointed to find that the steak was prepared over well and tough. So the waiter said he'd have the kitchen replace it, and then surprisingly asked me to remove my sides from my plate to nibble on while they prepare my steak. Seriously?! I was not pleased with that at all as I like to eat my meal as a whole, not one at a time, nor w/o my meat. By the time the steak came out, my cheese on my mac and broccoli casserole could have aged another life and been repackaged for resale. This 2nd steak finally came medium and looked like 8oz of meat, but this time was NOT on a bed of onions as the first incorrect one. Impatient and hungraaaaaay, I turned to our waiter and asked if it is at all possible to get the rest of my order correct and have the grilled onions that's supposed to come w my steak prepared fresh and brought out immediately. At that point, I could have easily walked out of there and went else where for better service, let alone better quality food. What was supposed to be a casual dinner out, turned into one of dissatisfaction and frustration when it comes to food and service. VERDICT & RETURN 0/5 If you want your order correct the first time, don't come here! However, if you prefer your drinks watered down, your food tasteless yet affordable, in a less than classy almost gangster-like-hick'ish crowd in a loud environment, this would be the place for you. It is highly unlikely that we'll be returning here.

After seeing Cheddars always being very crowded on Saturday's we went there on a week day. We got terrible news earlier that day and were not in good moods but I did notice the food was not very good at all. Why this place is so crowded on Saturday's is beyond me unless people just like the aquariums(which were nice). I got the salmon, very dry, overcooked, low quality, and tasteless. Forgot what my mom got but it was not good either. I went there for dinner a year later with a date who wanted to go so we ended up waiting almost an hour. I was hoping maybe the lunch food was just bland and the dinner would be better but no, the dinner was not good, she liked it as more of a social place but the food is not very good, I don't understand why this place is so crowded on weekends. Friday's has better food with about the same prices. Prices are not too high but then again the food does not warrant spending much on the meal.

This was the first time we have been back in a long time since last time they were unable to cook a steak medium in 3 attempts and I ended up eating a decent burger instead... This time we just went for appetizers and drinks. The drinks were good, but the service was poor (it took about 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks). We ordered the chips and "homemade" (Velveeta) Queso, which was nothing to write home about. Our friends shared Mozzarella sticks with Marinara and Ranch(?!). This was also not great. We will not be back even if just for drinks.

The bottom line for Cheddar's: cheap food, cheap drinks, ok waitstaff, long wait times depending on when you go. The food is quite possibly highly processed, more so than at other sit down establishments. This would be the one reason why it's so freaking cheap. The two things I do love from Cheddar's are their spinach dip and their honey croissants. Besides that, I think most of their other fare comes from pouches and bags taken from the freezer. I ordered a steak one night.... it was drier than the driest martini I've ever had -_-. A1 couldn't even help it and I hate A1. I'm a steak connoisseur and there was no seasoning on it whatsoever, too dry, and kinda stiff. I had two frozen Maui Margaritas one night with a group of friends. Although their drinks are cheap, they hit me after a while. Our waiter was in sort of a rush and had a huffy attitude. We noticed but didn't really care since we were there to enjoy ourselves. We already had to wait an hour plus to have ten people dine so we were definitely not in a rush. We didn't have a problem with the noise seeing how we were laughing and having fun from the time we sat down until we left. Be warned: Cheddar's does not accept reservations so if you have a huge party, be prepared to wait or come a little early to avoid the dinner rush. Also, depending on your waiter, you might have a long wait between drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts being brought out. I've been to Cheddar's four times, all the same location but different times of the day. Twice for lunch, once for take-out (which they jipped me out of most of my salsa), and once for dinner. No major issues besides wait times. I most definitely prefer Friday's, Texas Roadhouse, or J. Alexanders though.

Been there twice and have walked out twice.....I don't wait to be seated (EVER)....even the bar area I sat down and couldn't get waited on and walked out; the stool I sat at and waited to order at was never cleaned and I was never approached so I walked.....

Nothing special about this place add it to the list of Applebee's/TGI Fridays/Ruby Tuesdays type restaurants. The portions are large but the food is average and good luck with it all being hot. The only consistently good thing I've had here is the broccoli casserole.

Cheddar's LOOKS super nice inside and out. But service is TERRIBLE! The hostess was super friendly, but our server wasnt anything special. He didnt introduce himself, just approached our table and asked what could he get us to drink. He didnt fill our drinks until we were so thirsty, we had to flag him down to ask. Also, he didnt offer any appetizers or dessert. We went on a wednesday night and our food took over 45 min to arrive to our table. While waiting for our food, i excused myself to the bathroom to find 2 serving staff in the womens room texting. When food finally arrived, my husbands food came out first and I had to wait another 5minutes for my food. My husband was almost through with his sandwhich by the time my meal arrived. The food was reasonably priced and decent portions. I wasnt impressed with my new orleans pasta dish. Considering the many cuisine choices in huntsville, I dont think we will be returning to Cheddar's.

We stopped for lunch on the 4th of July. The strawberry lemonade was tasty and thirst quenching. My husband has the jalapeño cheese burger which he enjoyed. I had the cornmeal white fish which was also good. However the mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant and the service was a little slow but it was a holiday.

I would write 0 stars if I could. I'm from California and I was here visiting a friend and we decided to go here for lunch. A few days ago I went to the DMV to get a new license because I got married, in California they don't issue id's right away, it's usually about a 20 day period to wait for it in the mail. So they issue a paper temporary Id car and whole punch your old one. When I was at lunch I ordered a drink and when I explained the situation and gave him my old Id and the government issued temporary one and he said he would have to run it by his manager. When he came back he said they wouldn't accept it. I was so embarrassed, they didn't even listen to my explanation he just kept saying "I'm sorry I understand" which is a bull shit because if you were understood you would have heard what I said. They made me feel like some 18 year old trying to pass off a fake id. It's not my fault that they are uneducated on the California laws. If you are an out of towner I WOULD NOT recommend this place. Absolutely terrible to make me feel that way while I'm on vacation.

This place seems to be very popular. The parking lot is always packed during the lunch rush. A coworker and I got here right before opening and there was already a line forming at the door. Menu reminds me of an O'Charley's, a wide variety of dishes to please all palette types. From comfort favorites to more "exotic" in a chain restaurant sense. I ordered the Tilapia with mango salsa with cole slaw and black beans. The tilapia was topped with shrimp and mango salsa. The fish was cooked perfectly and the salsa and sauce that came with it were a great balance of sweet and a little spicy. Cole slaw was very good and the beans had a good flavor but were not quite tender enough. Price was reasonable for the quality and quantity. The floor was really slippery and that's not cool man, just not cool.

I'm from out of town on a conference as Cheddar's catered one of our meals. Their portions are HUGE. I didn't really know what to expect, but the food was definitely decent. I had the penne pasta with chicken and shrimp in a creamy Cajun sauce. I've had better, but can't complain. Would like to try other things from here.

Very average food. The wait for our dinner was very long. A manager did come over and offer his apologies. I can appreciate his attention. I just can't imagine any scenario that would have us returning for another meal.

Fast food prices with a restaurant quality meal. I see people complaining about wait times on here, there's a reason for that, they are kick ass!! People keep coming back and telling there friends & family, hence the wait!!! They have a nice bar area with plenty of T.V.'s as well. Where else can you go at a full service restaurant and get hot fresh food at a cheap price? I would recommend the Monte Cristo or the ribs and shrimp as your introduction. We are regulars here and Omar is by far the best waiter they have, ask for him!! Omar is courteous, thorough & makes good recommendations. If you are in a hurry tell them they will accommodate you, at least they always have for us. Of course, I am assuming they can't read minds. If they are really busy and there is a wait (line visible from outside) odds are your not going to get in and out (helpful tip). The comment on the "love roach" I am going to have to call B.S. first roach won't fit threw a straw and secondly doubt they sink in most liquids.

Cheddar's existence puzzles me. I guess the market niche they're filling is "food that you can eat in air conditioning." But there are so many places that fill this need so much better. And what if the air conditioning goes out? We went here for a small department lunch (someone else was choosing). Here's what I found: * The table was dirty. No crumbs, but there were splotches of things that were liquid enough to smear and rub into my sleeve. I wish I'd noticed before I put my arm on the table. And I could draw pictures in the film of grease that covered the entire table surface. McDonalds solved this problem decades ago. * The dishes were dirty. They had a similar oily film all over them, only this one was multichromatic and quite pretty in the sunlight streaming through the (dirty) windows. How come? I go to a restaurant so that I don't have to wash the dishes. That means I expect the restaurant to ... well, wash them for me. Waffle House isn't great, but it's cheap, reliably edible ... and at least it's clean, generally. * I was told by a friend that the fish tacos were reasonably safely good. So that's what I ordered. Mine weren't. The fish was fishy. Not a little fishy, either. Fortunately, the sauce that came with them was so obnoxiously pickle-y that until I got the taco directly under my nose, I could only smell the sauce. Is that what they're counting on? If so, I prefer that I not smell the tartar-like sauce from down the table while I'm looking at the burger on my plate. I've had better fish tacos for the same price ($9) at local places that were not just better, but actually delicious. The reliably decent ones at Rosie's are a little pricier, but not that much, and the rest of the food is reliably good, too. * The speed of service was what I'd expect from a cheap (that's different from "inexpensive") restaurant: not fast, but not abysmal. But service isn't just about speed. Our obnoxious waitress would show up (remember, not quickly or often) and LOUDLY say what she was there for, stopping all conversation. OK, I get it, you're overworked and you want to take our orders or fill our water or whatever as quickly as you can. But Denny's trains its wait staff to do this politely and not make us, the customers - who you're there to serve, not vice versa - not make us feel like we've been ripped violently away from what we were doing and held against our wills and better judgment in the waitress's reality. And not only this, but striking up a conversation with part of our table on how big your handgun is and how you'll blow the head off any intruder that comes into your house to mess with your born-out-of-wedlock (earlier conversation) child would seem to me to be time better spent looking for water glasses to fill. Like mine. * The good news: I didn't get sick, only angry. Bottom line: why be here? My god, this was awful. Don't go there.

I'm a little happy to see this place doesn't get rave reviews on here...because I've never truly figured out why on earth this place is ALWAYS packed. No matter what time of day you drive past, the parking lot is 110% full with at least ten people waiting outside. I've eaten here about three times within the past year and it's only because it wasn't my choice. Their food is so-so, their service definitely not so great, but their drink prices are amazing. I rarely drink, but I will admit they have a good drink menu with prices to match. Other than that...I'd rather eat somewhere less crowded for just such average food.

My experience at Cheddar's has always been pleasant. Yes, if you plan to go at around 5:00 p.m. then plan a long wait. I think it's pointless to complain about a place being busy as if they should desire less customers. It's a business people - busy is good. Cheddar's has been open for quite some time now and there must be some reason that it's usually pretty busy. My dish of choice is the Dijon Chicken. It's one of those things where I'd like to try something else, but every time I eat there I can't tear myself away from that dish - which is ok because it's delicious. It's grilled chicken on a bed of rice topped with dijon sauce and mushrooms on the side. Man it's good. I've never had terrible service there and can remember a couple times where service was excellent. On one incident I saw something that resembled a hair in my food, but not exactly... You could see pretty easily that it wasn't human hair, but I needed reassurance. They checked it out for me and it turned out to be a bristle from the basting brush. Stuff like that happens and it's not a big deal so I didn't ask for a new plate. During that same visit my wife didn't like her dish and Kevin allowed her to swap it for the dijon chicken. Kevin, a manager, was awesome and made sure we were taken care of. I've never had a bad experience at Cheddar's and I'll definitely be going back.

I've heard many good things about this restaurant, so I decided to give it a try. Our waitress was fun, & a little silly but she was very forgetful. We came in at about 9 p.m. And they didn't close till 11. There weren't very many tables, I'd say about 8 that I could see in the whole restaurant. Our server came and immediately started recommending items for appetizers and drinks, which is fine but she kept going after I asked her for a few minutes to look over the menu. Within a minute she was back with the same tactics. I decided to order a drink and an appetizer. The appetizer came out and she asked when it hit the table if I had decided on a drink, I told her that I ordered a drink with the appetizer and she had repeated it to me. She apologized and went to get the beverage. We then ordered our food. I got the veggie plate with a salad and my date got the mushroom chicken. About 10 minutes later she brought our food which was 3 veggies on my plate instead of four and a delicious looking mushroom chicken on my date's plate. I asked if I still got the salad, and she apologized and told me she would have it right out. About five minutes later she came back out with a salad and apologized because the side item that I had ordered that would have made up my 4th was no longer available for the night. I ordered another side item which was no problem, but it took till the end of the meal to get there. The mushroom chicken that date had was absolutely delicious but the vegetables on my vegetable plate with lukewarm at best. I would describe them as room temperature. We ordered another drink when the food hit the table the first time and when she brought the last of my side items many minutes later she asked if I had decided on a drink, at which point I told her that I had already ordered it and ask her if she forgot. She admitted that she had again and went to get the beverage. Overall I had expected a little bit better of an experience, maybe a drink when I ordered it, maybe some warm food at the least? I would have said something to manager but there were none in sight and none came by the table, it wasn't worth asking her to go get one because I was so hungry I ate the food anyway. I'm giving this review with a two star rating because the mushroom chicken was delicious, too bad it wasn't mine.

I thought the crowd was excessive and so was the wait. Don't try to get in/out during lunch hour and not be late. As for food, I had ham sandwich at lunch. I forget the name of it, but basically it was like eating a donut with ham inside with rasberry jelly on it. Quality food, but about made me sick... why oh why would I eat a donut sandwich for lunch! The combo wait / sick-mo-sandwich has me avoiding the place.

Great prices for a good quantity of food. The only thing that needs to be improved is the time it takes to get seated. There is always a large crowd. I like the chicken tenders, salad, country fried steak, and croissants. It is quite yummy! The restaurant inside is very lovely!

Arrived at Cheddar's for dinner and was seated right away. The menu was a little different from most, good selection of casual foods and some new twist on some old favorites. The service was slow and some of the wait staff was discussing personal matters with their friends in the dining area. Food was good, veggies slightly overcooked, but good.

I have had two not-so-great experiences with Cheddars, and a third lackluster experience from a close friend. The first time, my wife and I wanted to go here on my hour-long lunch break during the week. They gave us a buzzer and told us 20-30 min. wait. They actually buzzed us after 5 min. I thought, "Wow, that's great." They sat us down on the left side of the restaurant at a small table in the middle of a lot of traffic. We sat there for 10-15 min. The waiters/waitresses completely ignored us. Not even a drink order. We watched as some waitresses stood and casually had a conversation. Meanwhile we were not getting any service. We told the manager on the way out. The manager took down our address to send us complimentary gift cards in the mail. They never came. Next experience: Went to Cheddar's with work group as a going away party. We had a group of 10-16 people. The menu seemed a bit too common as far as it didn't seem to have any Cheddars-specific items that I couldn't find elsewhere. I ordered some common sandwich. The problem happened as we were getting our tickets. Everybody's ticket was wrong. If we ordered water, there was a drink charge. People with soft drinks, only had water (free). After leaving the tickets, the waitress was then gone for about 10 min. We had to sit and wait for her return to explain the problems, then sit and wait for them to ring us up. This unnecessary wait on the back end of our dining was annoying, especially because it was again during the weekday. Thirdly, a friend went to Cheddars with a group of less than 10 for his birthday at the end of Dec. They told him it would be a 3-hour wait. They waited so long, that they finally decided to just go to another restaurant in the area. I was just thinking, "No restaurant should tell anyone that it will be a 3-hour wait. That is just unacceptable." For all of the poor experiences above, I do not plan on going back to Cheddars at this location, unless someone else is paying. It is not worth my time for the unreasonable wait times.

Although the place is nice, the service (at the bar) was terrible. Not to mention they overcharged my credit card and I had to dispute it with my bank. I'm not going back there again. Parking sucks, too few spots.

Nothing special about this place add it to the list of Applebee's/TGI Fridays/Ruby Tuesdays type restaurants. The portions are large but the food is average and good luck with it all being hot. The only consistently good thing I've had here is the broccoli casserole.

Never returning to this Cheddars. My wife sucked up a live roach on 6-29-12 through her straw. Nastiest thing ever. We waited several minutes for the manager after our waitress went to get him/her and finally decided to leave.

My husband and I visit Cheddars frequently as the food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. But...the service is awful and depending on the bartender, sometimes the drinks are great and sometimes they are very weak. We have had both good and bad experiences at this place.

It's so darn crowded all the freakin' time! I don't understand it. The food is ok at best. However, it's very cheap with huge portion. I always have left overs for dinner or next day's lunch. But it's not worht waiting or strategizing over since there's always a huge lines...

Try it out.

    (3)

Lack of cleanliness of plates and table (not just one plate either) made us leave after the appetizer. Will never go back. Waited about an hour only to walk out. Terrible.

Although the place is nice, the service (at the bar) was terrible. Not to mention they overcharged my credit card and I had to dispute it with my bank. I'm not going back there again. Parking sucks, too few spots.

Nothing special about this place add it to the list of Applebee's/TGI Fridays/Ruby Tuesdays type restaurants. The portions are large but the food is average and good luck with it all being hot. The only consistently good thing I've had here is the broccoli casserole.

My husband and I visit Cheddars frequently as the food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. But...the service is awful and depending on the bartender, sometimes the drinks are great and sometimes they are very weak. We have had both good and bad experiences at this place.

It's so darn crowded all the freakin' time! I don't understand it. The food is ok at best. However, it's very cheap with huge portion. I always have left overs for dinner or next day's lunch. But it's not worht waiting or strategizing over since there's always a huge lines...

Went there on a quiet afternoon, with only a few patrons in the restaurant...enjoyed the ambiance, server was attentive & selection of food good! I NEEDED a drink, so ordered the 'Painkiller' & boy did it do its job! Food was good, but portions were huge - so half of it came home with us! An enjoyable restaurant, with enjoyable food...don't forget to try the Painkiller, you won't feel a thing - I guarantee it!

Never returning to this Cheddars. My wife sucked up a live roach on 6-29-12 through her straw. Nastiest thing ever. We waited several minutes for the manager after our waitress went to get him/her and finally decided to leave.

Had the blackened salmon with red beans and rice for lunch. It was very good. Get here early (before 11) or be prepared to wait.

Try it out.
