This HAS TO BE a better location for them than S. Parkway. Has to be. I've passed them headed for airport Rd. for over a decade now and never had the inclination to stop in but guess what... Snow week plus out-of-town family = try Charritos! I lamented the fact that Tony's wasn't here anymore... until stepping in and seeing what the Charritos team did with the place. It's as good if not better as a nice little cantina. Our server was nice and they got it moving in the kitchen. I had macho ("big") grill (not the real name) that was an assortment of sautéed peppers, three meals and a skewer of shrimp along with 3 grilled jalapeños to add a little heat. That plus their top shelf margarita had me in thumbs up land. The rest of the fam had fish tacos, taco salads and even a veggie plate. No complaints and all smiles. Solid Mexican fare, extremely good service and a really comfortable setting. 3.5 stars.

While staying in the Homewood suites I have eaten at this place more than I care to talk about. Its next door :) Pros: fastest orders ever! From the time I hang up the phone and walk next door (no more than 2 minutes) to the place the order is sitting on the counter. Amazing! Cons: Food is not that hot temperature wise. Literally. Maybe cuz it was made so fast? The chicken chimichanga is da bomb. Chile colorado is good too. Be advised that not all the combo plates come with rice and beans... Good stand by place if you're in a hurry. Solid food.

Caught a quick late lunch around 2:15 and the place was empty. Nice decor, decent food... I had the lunch Fajitas (steak). Good, but average. At only $7.49 it was well worth it. In the Providence neighborhood, which is a great plus.

Went there yesterday, I love the location very nice restaurant, nice decor, the host was awesome took great care of us. I love the fajitas great taste what sets them apart from other fajitas is the option to add fresh cut jalapenos to the fajitas so you get the pepper taste cooked into the meat which is awesome!!!! I love there salsa and cheese dip as well. I got a generous amount of food especially since it was from their lunch menu all at a great price.

Mex place where Tony's Little Italy was, in Providence. Moved here from S. Parkway. I give 'em a four and a half. Check them out!

I give it a 3 star because the salsa is great. Otherwise it would be just 2 stars. Not impressed. ..

Wow! I've missed good Mexican food. Loved the food, and the décor. Watched world cup. The bar wasn't terribly busy at the time so I'll have to see what it's like when crowded.

I'm sitting here right now. Service was quick and the food was very good. I'm from Az and I can't find good Mexican food too often, but here it is. Good chili relleno and enchilada! Good salsa also.

Charritos has only been open about 3 months in Providence after moving their location from Memorial Pkwy. The food is truly authentic and the margaritas are fantastic. Glad to see a Mexican restaurant in Providence with great food and atmosphere.

Just stopped by for a margarita. Super quick and friendly service. Delicious margarita on the rocks on the patio. Would definitely return

Best happy hour margaritas around. Salsa is great as well and far from that tomato paste junk I always taste at other places. They also have a great menu for vegetarians thats different than most Mexican restaurants. They note each item or list as "available as vegetarian" which I love. Go check me out.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
