Finally found one restaurant that's worth value for money compared to other Indian restaurants, very good environment and nice hospitality. I would not want to compare other restaurants but this one is of my interest. If you want desi khana (food) this is your place.

Monday August 18 Have been waiting for an Indian restaurant to come to this area! Had the lunch buffet and it was GREAT! Great variety, Great flavors, not bland like some. Reasonably priced. I will be going back often!!!

The lunch buffet is a great place to start if you're skeptical. Everything I tried was very good, so I encourage branching out. As usual, the Chicken Tika Masala and the Naan were outstanding--possibly the best baked bread of any type I've had in a long time. Also, the dark Chutney was surprisingly good. It has a sweet, almost preserve-type flavor that goes well with the Naan. Very polite and attentive staff, and clean but plain interior. I hope they do well, and I will be back for lunch again.

The most authentic Indian food in Birmingham! Very fresh tasting. We had dinner here and was very impressed with food. They don't have liquor license yet but it has been applied for. The owner is super nice. We will be back for sure!!

This place was awesome!. I can say nothing but good things about it. I came for dinner and the food was on point! The service was beyond 5 stars, the staff was very helpful and suggestive in our choices. Dishes recommended were great. Chicken Methi dish was incredible, a new favorite for me! I hope the best for this new restaurant because they were so kind and I appreciate dining and having a great experience at the same time.

They are suffering from growing pains with service, but the food is quite good. Buffet could have more options, but not a bad deal for 8 bucks. We will be back.

Wanted to try this new indian restaurant but was really disappointed with the food. Being an indian myself I know what good indian food tastes like. went there with my kids for lunch buffet. Very few choices. First the food was room temp. Rice was cold, tandoori chicken was was old and rubbery. Tried the methi chicken and it had a peculiar smell that it was bad. Only thing we liked was the hot naan served at the table and had no choice but to finish it with cold daal makhani. The kheer was spoilt and I mentioned it to the lady at front counter. Won't be back. Off to silver coin next time.

On Thursday, May 8th, I visited Royal India for the first time, to sample the Lunch Buffet. What I found was a decent-sized buffet with several fresh, flavorful dishes. Their buffet is competitively priced at $7.99. Without a doubt, I will return. At some point, I hope to try their dinner menu, as well.

Great food and selection on the buffet, great service, nice price. The best Indian food in town, very fresh and flavorful, with a nice variety on the buffet. I will be back for more lunches and will definitely try the dinner menu soon. Fantastic place, one of my new favorites!

After reading the positive reviews, my family decided to order takeout on 05/17. Portions were decent but the food was pretty horrible. Distinct lack of spices compared to other Indian restaurants in town. My Jalfrezi tasted like a bottle of ketchup (yes, I realize this is a tomato-based offering). Bullet naan covered in cilantro!?! My wife wouldn't even eat her entree. I wish I could give zero stars for this one. I didn't realize Indian food could taste so bad, this was a first for me. There are too many far better options in the area for me to give this place my business. Never again!
