I've been going here on a regular basis for the last 4 or so years every time I am in town and I can attest that this is the one chain steakhouse that far surpasses any of the others. No, it's not Shula's, Charlies or St Elmo's, but if doesn't cost you $100 per person either & if you want a nice cut of meat, cooked right and good service then you will not regret your visit to this particular Longhorn. The service has also been consistently well above average from what you would normally expect from a franchise as well.

Really nice tender and well seasoned rib eye. Perfect pork chops. Pleasant and fast service. What a deal for the price!!!

My wife and I were able to be seated fairly quickly on a Friday night even though the restaurant was packed full so that was a huge plus for a place on 280. We both had steaks because if you eat at a steakhouse why get the chicken. We had requested medium and medium well and they were cooked to perfection. The service was prompt and drinks were never empty. Yes it's a chain but these guys were pros. They will always be around unlike some competitors in the same price range who seems to be closing left and right.

I've been here several times but the service on this outing was sub-par. They forgot my side dish when food was delivered, waitress didn't leave a pen to sign check with (I went up front to hostess to find a pen). Other servers that I overheard, I could barely understand. I was just ready to get a box & leave. I hope to leave a better review when (if) I go back. Food = OK++ Service = you can do better.

As I waited with my buzzer, I ate the complimentary, shelled peanuts at the bar. I ordered the flat iron steak which came with a Caesar salad and eventually correctly the sweet potato bites. The bites seemed like it was caramelized -- a treat. Also the complimentary honey wheat bread was hopefully healthy to eat. I tried the fried cheesecake ball over vanilla ice cream and covered with whip cream. It was crunchy like pecan. I was glad to use my coupon -- $2 off 2 single adult entrees instead of $4 for dinner entrees on the same ticket.

I've been waiting on a water and lemonade for 25 minutes now. Where is my server....?

We travel often, and have made a habit to go to Longhorn's everywhere we go. This restaurant had great and friendly staff, delicious food and was pretty clean. The mushrooms soaked in garlic are amazing, and the steak is superb. Would highly recommend!

After Mass on Saturday which gets out at 5PM, a big group of us go out to eat. We usually decide before Mass starts where we would like to go. Ten of us went to LongHorn around 5:15PM last night with no reservations. There were two groups of 20 ahead of us! But I was told that they did have a place for us, but there were diners who were having dessert and once they finished, we would be seated. The host and hostesses kept us informed about our status. A little later, we were offered seating for eight of us, with the middle table to be cleared once the diners left. Two more of our people showed up, but, thankfully, we had been seated at three side-by-side tables for four. So that worked out perfectly and we only had about a ten-fifteen minute wait. Our server was Oscar and he was very professional and efficient. We didn't have a long wait for our food, which turned out to be excellent! Every one of us liked our dish. We usually don't patronize a restaurant like this because there are so many of us who decide at the last minute where to go. The more popular restaurants require quite a long wait sometimes. But we decided to give it a try anyway. We will definitely go back. (I had the seven pepper sauce steak and it is a dish I will order again! The sauce was awesome.)

We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times since moving to Birmingham. Each time, the meal and the service have been outstanding. These folks are truly professionals at what they do. The steaks are so well prepared and so very good!!!

After my last update, I was contacted by Jonathan B of Longhorn Steakhouse, and he apologized for the lack of follow-through after my previous reviews and contact efforts. I appreciate the fact that he took the time to address my concerns. If I should find myself in the Birmingham area again, I will be sure to give them another shot.

Love this location! I always get the filet and salmon, which is no longer a menu item but they graciously allow me to order it anyway. The steak is always perfect, the salmon is perfectly seasoned, not fishy tasting like some places. We love the shrimp and lobster dip and the service is always friendly. This is one of the only places I am willing to deal with 280 traffic for!

Worse experience we've had ! The servers and staff tried to maintain an enthusiastic appearance but the restaurant was on a 2 hour wait . We were told on our "call ahead " it would be around a 20 min wait when we arrived ... The wait was 45 , with no waiting or standing room . I used the restroom and there was 8 yes! 8 tables available with no one bussing them . All these people waiting and no one bussing the tables. Food was disappointing to say the least .

I've never understood the fascination with this place... nothing special. Chain restaurant with mediocre cuts of beef prepared rather blandly. Save your money, buy yourself a decent cut of meat with said money, and grill it yourself. You'll enjoy it more. Unless you really like crowded restaurants, domestic longnecks, and complimentary peanuts. In that case, this is the place for you!

I normally stay away from chains, but we were given a gift card that was accepted here and felt like a steak. I always have reservations about ordering steaks as many places just burn it to death and hope nobody complains about it. The sirloin I ordered was done precisely how I asked for it and was tender, juicy and perfect. Our server was very attentive but didn't hover or push. I would definitely come back here. My wife ordered the parmesan crusted chicken and it was delicious as well. Very impressed by this place. I will be back.

Went here on Saturday night before the dinner rush. Wild West shrimp for appetizer was a great way to start. My prime rib was way too dry that I used all my au jus up but passable. It is definitely not something I want to order again. My sisters ribeye was burnt on 2 occasions - like almost well done despite being order "medium". However, management was apologetic and offered to continue trying to fix it. Dessert - Caramel Apple Goldrush - it was different. Sweetness like a cinnamon roll with chunks of apple inside. Ice cream on top. Service - mediocre. It appears they got busier earlier than expected that Saturday night as waiters and runners appear to be constantly moving and rushing from place to place. 1 runner spilled steak sauce on his shirt and kept going instead of cleaning.

I attended a luncheon on May 16, 2013 with a H S graduation party. We were a party of 4 senior citizens, 2 parents and 2 high school age students. Baked potatoes were ordered by 5 of the party members, with their meals. All of the potatoes were shriveled and dried. One of the guest ordered a replacement potato. Another shriveled potato was replaced. We, therefore, concluded that one needs to be cautious when ordering here on weekdays because substandard items will be served. Otherwise, the meal and service was average.

Steak and grilled shrimp. They cook it perfectly. Slower than I like, but very tasty.

We've gone here quite a bit & while the food is usually pretty good, the service is usually not. We went for lunch today with a group for my father-in-law's bday & our waiter was so rude. An elderly at our table was trying to order & he was too busy staring at a chick coming out of the bathroom to even hear the order. I had to repeat her order for him! If you ask for anything, they act like its a huge inconvenience. As a chain, it's a good place to eat. This particular one could use some major work in the hospitality department.

I'm not a big steak fan, at all. So when my boyfriend asked to go here I groaned a bit inside and figured I would order chicken. I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up having the stuffed filet and it was quite good (although I didn't find the stuffing until the last two bites). My boyfriend had the prime rib and enjoyed it as well. Service was good and the ambiance was pleasant. It was quite pricey, but that's steak for you. I would go again as long as I wasn't paying!

Cajun Rib eye... Enough said! Well, maybe not. Love this place. From the salad to the deserts, they are all great!
