I don't see why Ichiban is getting so many bad reviews. Maybe everyone is just coming on a bad busy day. The only thing I've ever ordered from here is raw fish, though. I have no experience with cooked stuff because I don't come to a Japanese restaurant for cooked food. This place makes fantastic sushi, especially for a small place in Alabama. The last time I went, we goat a sushi boat, and it was phenomenal. This place is worth a try, if you go on a bad day, it sucks, but on it's good days, man is it good.

This was a disappointment. I know I shouldn't have expected much for Guntersville. We first ordered warm sake which came after our entrees because they said the sake machine needed to warm up. The seaweed salad came with eggs on it which wasn't listed on the menu. The miso soup tasted like a dirty sock, the veggie roll had no flavor so I added hot sauce to it. I have certainly had better.

we are from out of town and arrived at our hotel a little late. we were excited to see that there was a japanese steakhouse right by it! :) so because it was about 8, we ordered take out. at first, we were really excited. our food was ready quick, it was hot, and the service was friendly. they packed the food so neatly and they were generous on the shrimp & saracha sauce we requested. this feeling was short lived when we realized they had NOT included any soy sauce. we had ordered 2 sushi rolls and they were truly lacking the soy/wasabi mixture. we ordered teriyaki chicken & steak/shrimp entrees. the food tasted good when it was hot, i thought the chicken was best. my husbands steak was med well...we ordered med rare. and as many of you can imagine this was the 2nd huge disappointment. the salad was ok (ginger salad dressing a little strange), the soup was a little weak/watery. couldnt say the sushi was awesome. it was missing its key component, the soy sauce. overall, place is really nice looking and the food is decent.. unfortunately for me this place gave me a tummy ache shortly after eating it.. the pretty packaging is not worth the "pain"..well, for us at least

Sushi was good, service was good. I was the only one there at the time...kinda scared me....lol. Not having lunch prices on a Saturday kinda sucked though...paying full price.

Horrible service! Portion sizes are incredibly small! My "salad" had 6 small pieces of lettuce in it and it was $2.99. There was more dressing than salad. Waiter was not attentive until getting her "tip", which was zero. Meal was expensive, not very filling and was not very good. Do not eat here, your wallet, stomach and patience will thank you.
