I really enjoyed my dinner at Pruett's. The atmosphere was casual, if a bit hectic. I had BBQ pork, which was well made, though a little bit more vinegar/tart than the sweet stuff I am used to and end to prefer. Still extremely enjoyable. I also had Mac and Cheese which was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, and I will definitely make a point to visit again in the future!

I REALLY REALLY wanted southern BBQ when I sauntered through Gadsden last month, so we popped into Pruetts. I must say my hankering turned to be a disappointment. The service was great however, my BBQ was completely dry and lacked any hint of great southern BBQ flavors I've had visiting the area over the years. I don't know if it was an off-night, but this was my partner in crime's first experience with Alabama BBQ and she and I were completely let down. I ordered the "Mixed BBQ Plate" with both Beef & Pork .. Like I mentioned above, it was as dry as a desert and the sauce didn't live up to expectations either. For sides, I ordered Turnip Greens and Potato Salad. The greens were good, but the potato salad lacked seasoning, which is NOT what I expect from a southern BBQ joint. My partner in crime order a "Pork Small Sandwich Special" with Green Beans and Steak Fries. Beans were slimy and flavorless (way over cooked), but the fries were good. We traveled through 8 states on our vacation this year, visiting places I have loved over the years and Pruett's was the low spot on dining adventure. Too bad, I've had decent meals there before.

Don't come here for the bbq. The sauce is NOT good. The bbq is wet. The catfish is pretty good though. I am sure I won't eat there again.

Awesome Southern cuisine! Their BBQ and Brunswick stew are the best on town. And the servers are attentive and kind. Love this place.

I had lunch here one day with some co-workers. The decor reminds you of country. The dining area is large with tons of tables. I had a bbq chicken stuffed potato. It was a great deal for the quality. I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. Unfortunately for Pruetts I wouldn't drive 45 min to come here when Top O the River is across the street.

Passing through Gadsden? Then stop by here! The pulled pork won't disappoint and the fried okra was to die for! Any time I will be back in Alabama, you will know where to find me!

Great pulled pork-- and even though they don't usually do this, they will give you burned ends (which I was used to in my hometown). Three words no matter what you get-- SWEET POTATO FRIES! Oh my lord, these are good. Perfectly soft inside and a lovely crisp on the outside-- you're crazy not to get them. Pruett's is next door to the take-out Little Pruett's but they were really accommodating when I unknowingly called in an order and didn't just tell me know go next door. Price is great too! Only complaint is the lack of an online menu and corn nuggets...

Despite being in the heart of BBQ territory, Gadsden lacks a premium BBQ joint. Pruett's food is solid, not great, but it gets high marks for service, price and for having a drivethrough for to-go orders which make it the best BBQ spot in town.

Lunch at Pruetts was average at best. They garner a good lunch crowd so they are obviously a popular local bbq spot. The service I received was very good, the server was nice, upbeat and helpful. The atmosphere is laid back, just what you would expect at this type of place. Sadly, the food just did not measure up. I had the combo bbq plate with pulled pork & "beef". The puled pork was fine, nothing exceptional but fine. The beef was tuff and chewy...just not very good. I found Pruetts to be not bad...just not very good.

We are regulars at Pruett's and love the chicken fingers and the veggie plates. Wish they would change their daily specials or at least add a couple of options on the daily specials. We know exactly what they are having on special each day. We'd love to be offered more meat options on the specials. Pies are to die for! Not a fan of their BBQ, but the BBQ salads are great. However, we really enjoy going there, have made friends with several staff members and always given excellent service. Atmosphere is country/BBQ style and fun staff. Must try if in town.

This is the perfect place to have a meal! The food choices are authentically Southern and never taste as tho someone opened a can. The barbecue is generously served without gristle and excessive fat. They have yummy daily specials. Though not always available, the Brunswick Stew is like none other.

Ate dinner there on 01/25/11. I got the BBQ pork plate and it was good. I like the steak fries. The BBQ beans are not bad. My wife and I really like the Lemon Pie. I will go back and eat there again for sure. The one complaint I would have is there BBQ sauce is not too good in my opinion.

Wow, thanks Yelp folks! This place was great in every way. The Catfish was great, as was the fluf (a sweet potato casserole of sorts). I got the sampler, girlfriend had the pulled pork and beef, both we wonderful. Nothing else need be said. Very nice staff as well and super clean and no I don't work there or know anyone that does it was just that good.

The pulled pork sandwich was awesome! Butter beans and creamed corn tasty as well. Would be 4 stars, but food arrived luke warm. I would have preferred my sides a bit hotter. Definately one of the better choices along with Uncle Sams that is right next door.
