Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

We came over to Cracker Barrel because it was a long wait over at Lambert's on Father's Day! My last visit was over ten years ago where there was nothing memorable. There was no wait here and we were seated immediately. They do not have beef liver and onions on their menu so we settled for the Fried Catfish & Chicken Fried Chicken. Our food came out scorching hot & fresh. The fried catfish had a light cornmeal coating and was crispy & DELICIOUS! The chicken fried chicken and sides were okay. The staff were very nice and it was good food at reasonable prices. Definitely better than a 2 hour wait!

Waiter friendly but food not up to Cracker Barrel standards. Fish not cooked as requested and they did replace. They forgot my salad and one of the sides and son did not get his side. Drove 30 min from beach so disappointing.

Such lovely service at this location. We were served quickly and hospitably and never felt rushed out. The clerks in the store also chatted with us about the music festival we were attending in Gulf Shores and warmly welcomed us to the area. Food at Cracker Barrel has never disappointed. Comfort food at its finest. I've suspected for a while that they sprinkle crack in their pancakes, but you didn't hear that from me. I will love Cracker Barrel til the day I die. Judge me. I don't care.

The good was awesome! Went there last night for my b day dinner! I order the catfish platter with Mac and cheese, corn, and hash brown casserole. Yummy! The good was fresh and service was awesome! Even though the waiter had a party of 15 that came in around 9:15, he still took excellent care of us. The fact that they close at 10 but yet the food was still fresh when arrived at 9... That was awesome! I will definitely return!!

Can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel. It's a guilty pleasure for me when I'm out on the road. They are all pretty much the same. You walk through the gift shop on your way to the restaurant area. Kind of P.T. Barnumish. The food. Comfort food. Never had a bad meal there. The service and food at this location was great. I especially like the ice tea. Tasted like "real" iced tea...not from a mix.

Rudest staff ever! We came at 10.30pm and ask if it was to late because they close at 11pm. They said "we're still open for 30min". OK then. But if you let two customers eat, treat them as customers. But I guess it wasn't Robin's night. Ok we're the last customers but we didn't plan to stay for the night. She asked if we were ready to order, I said "just a minute" since the menu is quiet big. And that's were it starts... She rolled her eyes! Just in front of us! I mean "hey! I can see you!! I'm there!" But the worst part was that she make like nothing happened. And keep smiling for the rest of the dinner. What kind of sick game is that? You already established that you did not like us and it was pretty clear that you don't want us to tip you well, you just wanted us to go to hell. Why would anyone faint some kind of "service"? And it goes on and on the whole time. She literally dropped napkins on the table without looking or stopping. She asked if we would like steak sauce, she offers two choices as we tried to figure out what kind of sauce it could be she rephrase slowly like we were some kind of mentally challenged people... Ok, maybe you had a bad day. But suck it up, do your job and stay professional! We were really sorry to come that late and we would have let a good tip. To bad for you Robin. The food was great thought, but Robin ruined it for us.

Horrible service. Ive been to other cb, but this one was really bad. Server took forever to take our order. Once we ordered, about 20 minutes later i was told my lunch selection was sold out (potpie). So i selected a cheese and chicken pocket thing they had. Again another 20 minutes passed and the server (we were handed off to another server) told me my selection was sold out. By this time the rest of the people were being served and i was barely ordering. I ordered a ribeye, kinda thinking that not many people would order this around lunch time, so there should be plenty of them. Long story short, i finally got my order while everyone was eating dessert. In end they not only messed with my order, but our bill had several things on there that we did not order. I spoke with the manager during this mess, and they fixed the bill, but no apology or discount was given. Not going back.

I went here with my chain restaurant loving cousins on a recent family reunion. There's a kind of Disnyed country store in the front with candy's you only see on Mark Summer's Food Network show and old timey metal ads on the wall that are kinda neat. The food gets the job done and isn't too pricey. You can get sides like turnip greens and fried apples without venturing too far into the country and experiencing any real southern charm. I'd give the place 2 stars if it weren't for the triangle golf tee peg jumping games on the table. If you've ever been you know what I'm talking about.

This is one chain restaurant we missed when we moved to Southern California. If you like Southern-style comfort food, this is a pretty good place to get your fix. My husband and I like just about everything here, but their turnip greens are probably my favorite thing. The sugar cured and country ham, trout, catfish, chicken and dumplings, cornbread and biscuits are also very good. A must is their apple dumpling with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream -- a nice dessert to share. We've always found the service to be excellent and the prices are very reasonable.
