I went to Wildwood last night for my second time. The location on Mobile street is great. I think it would be even better if mobile street went to no driving/parking on it (suggestions to the city of Florence). It's off the beaten path. The experience is great until around 11, when it becomes a crowded mess. However that is a problem with all the bars in downtown Florence. It is just more noticeable in this smaller establishment. I enjoyed the service and selection (even though the beers on tap on the menu doesn't match the actual beers on tap). It is a great place for groups of around 4-6, but any more than that, you end up taking up a lot of space and not easily able to communicate. With that being said, the design elements aren't cohesive. Mostly everything followed a wood or rustic theme, but then you would have a just random pieces that didn't fit. Not being sexist, but it looks like a male built everything and a women picked pieces of "art" to go into the bar without actually seeing the bar. For example, the artistic circle mirror on the wall and to the very colorful lights hanging above the bar. I would have went with gas/electric lanterns or reclaimed lights from a barn. A place needs to be cohesive. This critique doesn't take away from the bar, but it just stood out to me. I do enjoy the bar being hooked to Old Chicago Cafe. What a great idea. I'll update this review as time goes on, but I'll be back to Wildwood.

Coolest new spot in Florence. Great atmosphere and the food is off the chain. I had the pesto flatbread pizza - stellar. The selection of gourmet hotdogs is crazy and the baked pastas look incredible - and they're huge. Totally a shareable dish!

Awesome food and service. Will be regulars for sure. Had the Korean barbecue sandwich and a few drinks. Bartenders are great, know their stuff and will gladly recommend or let you try something. Great beer selection.

Been twice for lunch. First trip had the pizza which was huge. Second trip we had the hot dogs. Both delicious. Neat spot.

Still getting the swing of things, Wildwood Tavern is just what the Shoals has needed: a quiet place to find some decent brews and cheap hotdogs. I went three days the opening week, and had varied experiences. Food and drinks were great (try the Korean Dog), but the service was pretty muddled. I think they'll get the hang of it though. This place is small. Like 2 tables and the rest is bar. It's not cramped though. Just an intimate little place to go with your friends or disappear in a dark corner. I'll probably rate it higher if the service improves.

Scale 0 to 5 Atmosphere: 4.5. This would easily be a 5 if it were just a tad bigger. But what they have done with the space is truly beautiful. Beer: 3.8 Small tap selection, but did have some very good ones on tap. Also a decent bottle selection. Nothing spectacular but serviceable. Food: 4.0 I have eaten numerous variations of their hotdogs from the Chicago Café and they are always consistently good and that has carried forward to the Wildwood Tavern. I have also had a pasta dish or two from here and they were very good. Really a good tasting meal at a good price. Service: 3.0 Service has increased dramatically since the first time I went here. Every time I go in, it gets better. But it still has a way to go. Big difference in running a small hot dog place and a full scale restaurant. I have confidence they will continue to improve on this. Overall: Nice break from the norm. Beautiful interior and good food at a good price. I'd definitely suggest it, especially if you have a hankering for a hot dog.

By far the best bar in Florence! A Draft and bottle selection that's insanely diverse, craft cocktails by each bartender, and a food menu that'll make your head spin. I'll be here a few times a week, for sure.

I've been to Wildwood twice now, now that it's finally on Yelp. Wildwood presents itself at home among the [now 3!] bars in downtown Florence of: OTR, Flobama, and now Wildwood. While the prices are probablyhigherthantheyshouldbe, the environment isn't. Pallets line the roof and wood is ever apparent in this nook hidden away before you check out the cooler-than-cool music venue of 116 E Mobile. I tried Courtney's Cobblestone Coffee and was more than impressed at her take of Irish Coffee Frappacinno (and booze). The price tag reminded me of Atlanta and for that I deduct 1 star. However, I really like that they give their bar tenders freedom and creativity to create: ["I don't know what I want, you make it!"] I have yet to try their variations of the hot dogs, located next to Chicago's own Hot Dog venue. Wildwood is a welcome scene to the growing shoals establishment. Invest now. We have.

Beer selection was small but good. We enjoyed the IPA and the local ale. Decent ambience, including some outside tables. Great friendly and attentive service from the bartender Hannah. I should have left her a better tip. Food was just ok, and somewhat inventive, but hey, it's a bar with bar food, what do you expect? Uncrowded too despite it being a Saturday night.
