What a reasonably priced place tucked away in the heart of North Alabama. With such beautiful women working here and serving food, it easy to get lost here in the hours. Blueberry smoothie: reasonably priced. As is the coffee. The atmosphere is fantastic. Definitely a must visit if you are an active Yelp user and visiting or native.

Absolutely the best coffee shop in the Shoals. In addition to the perfectly pulled espresso and coffee drinks, this place has some of the best food in town. The black bean breakfast wrap is my favorite but I have yet o be disappointed by anything I have ordered. If you come in during lunch and they have tomato soup, do yourself a favor and don't miss the grilled cheese/tomato soup combo. It's magically simple and so satisfying.

I go here at least once a week and used to go 3 times a week and have never been unsatisfied. Perfect place to sit and hang out, free wifi, chess bored game, the coffee is amazing as well as the food, the tomato soup on Monday is my favorite.it is always sanitary including the bathrooms. I love the Italian cream soda as well. It is always cosy and perfect temperature inside it is warm never too cold or hot. The music is perfect and love how well the employees are dressed, very boho style, if this place ever shut down I would probably cry lol

Rivertown not only served up an amazing cup of Joe, they provide a hip, trendy atmosphere that is sure to please. The aromas and sounds coming from friends sharing time together is as sweet and appetizing as the food and beverages. You will not be disappointed.

Pretty tasty & reasonably priced coffee. It has neat events & a unique local feel that the big coffee companies can't emulate. Only complaint...wish it was bigger so they could seat more people.

What a chill spot! They have a nice selection of teas and coffees, and an amazing beer selection! Free wifi for the win!

Great place to relax and read/write in Florence. Good coffee, friendly staff, nice beer selection and they host music on occasion. It would be nice to have outdoor seating though.

They might not have the best coffee, but they have the place to just "chill" in Florence, which makes the coffee much better. On the weekends you are sure to see a band playing some amazing music. The employees are so laid back and just fun to talk too. :D

Now that I actually live here, I feel like I should throw another rave review into the mix for Rivertown. The lunch here is out of this world. This place turns out sandwiches that are, unequivocally, the best in Florence. Hell, probably one of the best you've had ANYWHERE. It's remarkable and you should go give it a shot. The majority of the place consists of repeat, regular customers... and you'll understand why.

Best coffee and espresso drinks in the Shoals, hands down. Lunch is always great; check facebook or call in for daily specials. Closed on Sundays, so make sure to get your fix on other days.

If there's one thing Florence needs more of, it's smart people. If there are two things Florence needs more of, it's smart people and thin people. If there are three things Florence needs more of, it's smart people, thin people, and COFFEE SHOPS. There we go. There are a whopping total of two coffee shops in downtown Florence. Plus one hidden inside the library. To make up for the quantity, at least we have quality. Both coffee shops are awesome. McGraw's is the one you go to for lunch or a quick snack. Rivertown is the one you visit to be drenched in melancholy, sip a drip, put on your emo glasses, and be entertained by the hairstyles that enter. This place only has one flaw: its wireless internet. The wi-fi here goes in and out constantly. On, off, on, off. Let's rundown the reasons Rivertown receives record rave reviews. SERVICE. The staff is always friendly. But not too friendly. They don't chat you up if you're trying to stay mysterious. FOOD. The coffee is great. Really great (same price as McGraw's, if you're wondering). I prefer McGraw's iced coffees, but Rivertown's hot coffee. COME HERE FOR LUNCH. You simply must. And order the grilled cheese on sourdough bread. If you don't like it, I'll pay you back. It's super-cheesy and delicious. They only serve real food for lunch, Monday-Friday, 11-2. ATMOSPHERE. I think this place might be a portal to another world. You can sit and watch people walk by the large windows next to the sidewalk outside, but it's like you're in a completely different world in here. The colors. The music. Old couches. Most of the light bulbs in the ceiling don't work. This place makes me want to write a novel. They also feature live music on some nights, which I have yet to experience. The bottom line: There's no better spot to meet a friend and hang out. Two other drawbacks: Closed on Sundays. The lock on the men's restroom doesn't work very well. Keep one hand on the door, and one hand on your... dignity. If you're a fan of atmosphere-driven coffee shops, I'll probably see you here.

No Starbucks in Florence/Muscle Shoals so when I was in town for a baseball tournament I needed to find a decent cafe latte. I tried Rivertown and boy, was I shocked. I had easily the best latte I've had in YEARS. I am a coffee snob and brew my own at home from beans mail ordered from Peet's. The barista at Rivertown clearly knew his stuff, but they also must be using very fresh, quality beans. Don't hesitate to try their espresso drinks here!

Okay, I usually agree with B.R. but man, not this time. What do you call a coffee shop that does not serve good coffee? . .. ... A wanna be coffee shop! and thats what Rivertown is to me. My wife is a coffee fiend... and I mean 3 or 4 cups a day fiend. So we naturally visit a lot of coffee shops and most of them more than once. We have been to rivertown on more than four occasions and I have never been impressed with the coffee. The place is cool, don't get me wrong, with an awesome hole in the wall... accoustic music playing.... underground scene... ambiance it has everything a good coffee shop needs to have the look. But the coffee..... I have had Latte's, Chai Tea's, Cappuccino's, House coffee's and everything else here and I am yet to be impressed. Even my White Chocolate Cappuccino was not very good..... WHITE CHOCOLATE!!! who has ever had anything with a white chocolate flavor and didn't like it? It will really make you wander about a place when something like that doesn't taste good. So the bottom line is.... go to Mcgraws coffee house a few blocks away and bring your coffee over to Rivertown to hear some good music or meet some good people.

Definitely the best coffee in the area. This sweet little shop is located right next to the historic Shoals Theater, overlooking Wilson Park and the Florence/Lauderdale Public Library. The insides are thoughtfully designed, catering to the more "indie" crowd/college students/artsy people--definitely not distasteful. Haven't really tried all the sandwiches, which are served on weekdays 11 am-2 pm, but they are made fresh daily, so that's a definite plus. Along with sandwiches, Rivertown sells locally made goods such as granola. Shout out to Sugarbakers! The coffee is usually good, depending on your barista and taste buds. They have semi-automatic espresso machines and many more syrups than your local Starbucks--the closest Starbucks is nearly an hour away. Besides, who needs junk coffee when you have wonderfully better and cheaper already! They support local art and music with everything from "Olde Tyme Pickin" to straight up Open Mic Night. Drop by! If you haven't heard of this place and live in the area, you probably don't drink coffee. If you do drink coffee, get up now and go.

They make a good cup of coffee, have free Wi-Fi and serve some tasty food. They are somewhat standoff-ish, not what one would want in their favorite coffee shop. Anyone can stoically make a coffee. This is correctable.
