Give me a break. This is not a restaurant to go and eat. Tequila comes in a bottle, fine. Kitchen and food needs to have some management effort. Service however was good. I'm in Alabama so I'm sure the Governor made sure the "help" was legal. Nothing tasted fresh. El Mexicana is a better choice.

We've been to Agave twice in the past month and enjoyed their chips and salsa, chicken enchiladas and beef and chicken fajitas -- the portions were generous and all were very good and tasted freshly prepared. Although it's been very busy both times, we found the service to be excellent and the prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Great menu and slightly more upscale atmosphere than most Mexican restaurants, yet casual. Carnitas were great and their special signature zesty cheese sauce can be added to any entree for just a buck. Medium margarita was great value and perfect. Kids loved the quesadillas, and said the burger was really good too.

Nothing exceptional but nothing disastrous. Food was fine, atmosphere fine, our service was on the minimal side, but not horrible.

Always my favourite on the eastern shore! Margarita selection is the best in Baldwin county.

Had the fajitas. Very good. My buddy had the combo with burrito, taco and enchilada. He enjoyed his neal. I definitely enjoyed the shrimp fajitas. Very tasty.

The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Our food got to the table a lot quicker than we anticipated. The seafood enchiladas were excellent. I would definitely go back, especially for a date night.

Restaurant is very nice. Service is fast and we received our food within minutes. I ordered the taco salad and asked them to add rice and queso. It was delicious. My daughter had the kids queso and rice which she ate it all. My husband had the grilled fish tacos. It came with 4 tacos, rice and beans and was very good as well.

Such a delicious, affordable place! The service was excellent. The salsa was fresh and we loved the spicy guacamole- fresh, plentiful and not a rip-off. Other favorites were the Mexican Mojito and the taco with chorizo. We were feeling the lay-out too- spacious bar area with TVs to catch a game and large non- cramped booths perfect for dinners with friends. A pleasant surprise- look forward to coming back!

Fantastic food. Our waiter Uriel made the best quac I've ever had. Nice, cozy room. Good selection of tequilas, too.Yelp directions are incorrect. Address is on Hwy 98 in Ecor Rouge Plaza, not Ecor Rouge Lane.

A surprising find in a strip center in Fairhope. Everyone loved their food even if it wasn't exactly what the menu promised. The shrimp came minus 3 and it wasn't exactly pico - more like cooked peppers - but everyone was pretty darn happy with the food. Fun margarita menu and huge and interesting food menu makes this place a keeper. Our waiter did seem to vanish on us toward the end of the meal when we were ready for the check, but a small complaint. Be warned! The 'medium' margarita was dubbed the 'Megarita' by my 10-year old!!! Indeed. As another Yelper said, wish we had a place like this in Mobile.

Overpriced Mexican beans and rice. Bland taste and the meats overcooked earlier in the day The waiter was very good taking our order by memory. But was waiting on too many tables. This was a good restaurant when it first opened but has gone downhill fast. I will not come back

Came here with many family members (11 of us total) and our waitress did a fantastic job, especially doing most of the work herself. I started at the bar with my aunt with a jalapeno margarita. It was HUGE. We did not realize the margaritas were so big. And the bartender put plenty of fresh crushed jalapenos in my margarita (per my request), so it had a bit too much of a kick. Still had good flavor. I had a combination plate, with pork tamale, beef hard taco, and beef enchilada, served with rice and beans (of course). The tamale had lots of corn meal, but also a good amount of meat. The taco and the enchilada were both good in flavor and had plenty of meat. The whole meal was pretty good.

You know- I really debated with the stars on this one. There is nothing wrong with their menu or prices. Their food quality is on par or better than most of places in the area. However, their lack of authenticity and flavor is what really kept me from 4 stars. I am biased. I am from California where Mexican food reigns supreme. It has been my experience that Mexican food in the south means lots of fried foods and lots of queso. There were a few menu items that I would have settled for but not a single item was special or impressive. Flautas, Chimichangas, Cheese drenched enchiladas......meh. Sometimes you just crave that stuff......and that is totally okay! But if you are looking for something special, unique or authentic.....not so much. Also- I hate their guacamole. It was seriously lacking in flavor and spice and barely blended. ugh. My favorite thing about this place is their GIANT margaritas. Coconut especially. If you drink enough, the food is amazing!

Absolutely wonderful even on Cinco de Mayo!! Sat at the bar since they were extremely busy instead of a table. The margarita was out of this world and our food came out much faster than I expected! Every time we are in the service is spot on and the food is always enjoyable.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
