I've been here twice, and both times I've been extremely impressed. The first time I went here I ordered the seared rack of lamb. It was very well done. The meat was tender, juicy and the vegetables served along with it complimented the meal superbly. The second I went here I ordered the Angus filet, and I don't know which I enjoyed more, the lamb or the Angus filet. I have no complaints. The service was also superb. Every need I had was attended to in a timely manner. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family, especially those looking to take that "special someone" out somewhere nice. A true gem hidden in Enterprise, AL!

3 stars cuz we are in Enterprise....if I was anywhere else 2 maybe 2.5. Shrimp ceviche app. was so disappointing cuz of the tiny little smashed shrimp. I honestly wanted to leave based on the look of those shrimp! But my better half was hungry and so thank goodness they had blue cheese stuffed olives for my Martini -it took the edge off the disappointment of my app. My hubby ordered the fried green tomato's with lump crab app. and it was good. Our entree's (grouper and shrimp w/grits) were also good. READ good as in edible, not great. Too many y'all's and not enough charm or je nais se quoi to be defined as really good food.

Enterprise's finest would hold its own anywhere, based on the exciting menu and wonderful atmosphere. The Rawls is located in a historic building, and the bar, which is off to the left of the entry way, includes a nice lounge space. The main dining room has high ceilings, some of which include stained glass. Although I've only visited the Rawls for business dinners, I imagine this is a great place for a date. The cocktail selection is fun and typically involves real fruits and syrups. I enjoyed the peach sangria on my most recent visit, and was pleased that the peaches were fresh and the drink wasn't too sweet. Fresh bread is served with a sweet butter. The appetizer selection is distractingly good and includes fried green tomatoes with crab, pork belly, blackberry salad, soups, and a few others. I started with the shrimp tempura, and enjoyed the sweet chili sauce for dipping. At a loss for what entree to order, a colleague and I decided to split two items, the filet and the hand-cut linguine with rabbit. Both were outstanding, and I'd be hard-pressed to name a favorite. The filet was cooked perfectly and included perfectly seasoned potatoes. We subbed okra for the vegetable, and have no regrets about that decision. The linguine included generous portions of meat and fresh mushrooms and veggies. The noodles were on the thick side, but I felt that the thickness fit well with the flavor. I really forced myself to make room for dessert, a peach crisp with vanilla ice cream. You will pay fine-dining prices at the Rawls, but the chef delivers something truly memorable.

The Rawls is full of southern charm, stylishly blends of contemporary comforts with captivating old-world elegance. (Stole that from the website) Including myself, I entertained eight tonight having numerous appetizers that included; Crispy Pork Belly, Local Apples, House Kraut, Sweet Tea Gastrique; Gulf Shrimp Tempura, Wasabi Sweet Chili Sauce; Bobwhite Quail Cornmeal Waffle, Cane Syrup Fried Apalachicola Oysters w/Lemon Horseradish-Tartar Sauce. All apps were really very good, The quail was as good as I've ever eaten. For entrees we selected the Scallop & ribeye specials. All were very tasty. It was a great evening to have gracious hospitality, fine cuisine coupled with locals gathering for cocktails at the Rawls.

Classiest place in Enterprise. A stately old hotel that has a nice bar and restaurant inside. Dressy, pricey, but fun. Expect to pay $25-35 per entree and $8-12 per appetizer/dessert item. Good drink menu, draft beer, and friendly service. A great date spot!

Very fancy but the food isn't that great. Me and my boyfriend went homecoming night and were some of the only ones there at that time. Food wasn't up to expectations and staff is rude.

We had a really great dinner here. For a few hours, I forgot I was in Southeast Alabama, let alone Enterprise. Excellent food, excellent service, a bartender willing to work with you on the perfect potion, and a great atmosphere. Every dish from appetizer to dessert tasted wonderful. They just really need to start a classy Sunday brunch!

In the past, The Rawls has been plagued by issues that should have been easily remedied and that have included food quality, preparation, service, and cleanliness. Hopefully, as there is a new chef (CIA-trained, Frank Stitt-apprenticed), these issues will have been resolved permanently. I am looking forwards to a novel dining experience. UPDATED All the issues identified above have been successfully -- dare I say, tastefully?-- resolved. Indeed, the restaurant space itself has been renovated, with the former wineshop space having been converted into a rather nice pub. The bar itself is well stocked (no where else in Enterprise has such a selection of single malt scotch), and food service is provided. The menu has been revised, with the focus placed squarely on freshness and availability. More to follow!

It was our second time dining there & both were good experiences- second time even better. Menu offers a nice variety, wine selection pretty good, and service was also commendable. The bar has a very cozy and quiet atmosphere. The combination of these features certainly makes it worth a drive over from Dothan.

GREAT FIND IN ENTERPRISE! Fantastic food and awesome drinks! They don't skimp on the alcohol! Little pricey BUT the food is totally worth it!! The bar is awesome to get together with friends and just relax. The bartender Jen is awesome!

I'm going to go ahead and say that this is the best option for pretty darn good food in the Enterprise area. I have been here several times for both lunch and dinner and have yet to be disappointed. They have a good selection of beer and wine and also some pretty decent cocktails to choose from. The salads are tasty as are the fried oysters. The wild mushroom and fettucine with parmesean sauce was fantastic, highly recommend it. Also basically all the desserts are pretty darn spot on. They make the cowboy cookies to order and who doesn't love warm cookies and milk, seriously. Check it out already.

From my understanding, this place has been recently renovated and is under new management. My boyfriend and two friends of ours dined there a couple weeks after it reopened. We all thought the food and the service was impeccable. The menu is unique and diverse and the atmosphere and Spanish-inspired decor transports you to another land. We were very excited to have found a restaurant of this stature in Enterprise, Alabama. We are originally from the Boston area where we developed a taste for higher quality dining and The Rawls is comparable to the restaurants we frequented back home. If you are looking for an upscale dining experience near Enterprise, AL, I would highly recommend The Rawls.

Out of six meals only two were good. The steaks were good and big but the other meals were fish and very small on the serving size. On the seafood dishes the no one thought they were good. The chairs are very uncomfortable, hard and hit you in the wrong place in the back.

A stately old hotel. An impeccably-cooked steak. Perfect service. Unbelievable atmosphere. I don't like to say things such as "I didn't expect to find a restaurant of this caliber in Enterprise" because it's a really condescending thing to say to the people of that good city. Instead, it's proof to me that great restaurants can be found all over if you simply ask your desk clerk where to find them. A shame I enjoyed such a fantastic, romantic meal with a colleague instead of my wife. Had she been there instead, it would have made things perfect in my book. And, once your meal is over, stroll around front and take photos of the Boll Weevil Monument. It's really something everyone should see once in their lives.

Watermelon salad was great, the stead was over cook, the crime brûlée was over sugared and burn in spots. We expected better. Great flavored in the dishes.

As you walk through the door, you are transported out of Enterprise, AL and into somewhere a bit more classy. This is as fine as the dining gets in Southeast Alabama and you can definitely tell the chef has worldly experience and brings that to your plate. Foods are locally sourced and the menu is seasonal so you get the best possible product at any given time during the year. I've had almost everything on the menu from the years I lived in Enterprise and have never once been disappointed. The steaks are always perfectly done and the combinations on your plate always complement each other. Can't go wrong with anything the chef has produced for his customers. This place would definitely hold it's own in any large city and I was shocked to find it in Enterprise. Highly recommended.

The Rawls is the best place in Enterprise for a date night. The food is amazing and the restaurant has an unique look and atmosphere. All the dishes are wonderful my favorite is the shrimp and grits. My husband and I both love the Carver Cup for dessert as well.

Came in for birthday dinner. Beautiful historic building. Well kept. Linens, glassware and silverware are clean and smudge free. Service staff is well groomed, well dressed, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Drinks menu is HUGE. I was thrilled to see my beloved Glenrothes single malt scotch on the well stocked menu. The bread and butter is very tasty. Careful you don't fill up on them! He started with the wedge salad, me the blackberry. He seemed pleased with the wedge, I was ok with the blackberry. Needed more goat cheese for sure. I went with shrimp and grits for entree. He had prime rib special on the recommendation of the server. The prime rib was spot on. I stole a bite and it was delicious. The shrimp I and grits was very good. We didn't have room for dessert or we would have likely tried out one, they had a large variety of choices. Definitely a good spot for a special occasion.

The ambiance is amazing and this is the type of place that you get a little dressed up for. There are always specials for the day. The drinks are somewhat sweet for my taste but they are great for an occasional dressed up dinner date with the wife. I had a wedged salad with back and tomatoes along with the NY Strip. The salad was amazing and I would have enjoyed a second. The steak was cooked to perfection with the correct amount of redness. I had a great time out and would recommend their restaurant to everyone just not a once a week type of place.

Rawls has had a rocky history... Closing and reopening over the years. I heard they were open again and food was very good. Well.. Their food might be good .. I don't know ! The website.. and front door says open till 10. We called at 725pm and they said kitchen was open till 9pm. We arrived at 815pm and were told they were closed!!! We drove 30 minutes for this...?? Perhaps they should invest some time and energy in the basics of customer service in a small Alabama town. I will do my best to let anyone I know in business and home life that they're a ZERO in my opinion. Toss a coin .. Take a drive and maybe .. Just maybe they might serve you. I'll bet a steak dinner they close in year again!!

Amazing food! We were so excited to find any gourmet place existed in Enterprise. I felt like I was in DC! We have ordered a few different things there but my favorite is the filet with bleu cheese slaw. It's so awesome! They have great foi gras and creme brûlée. I have also ordered the ribeye and lamb. Both of those also exceeded my expectations. We always chose this place when going out for a special occasion. It is pricier than other places, but it's well worth it for the quality.

Tried this place out for the first time tonight with some friends. Great atmosphere with a friendly staff. My steak was outstanding and prepared just as I ordered. The rabbit is also delicious. Definitely a nice place for a date or special occasion.

fabulous food and staff. The entrées are a seasonal menu which I love. They only use the freshes ingredients.

I felt like I was back in Los Angeles at this restaurant. Food is excellent, and the Creme Brûlée is amazing. In fact, the next time I go back I'm ordering 3 of them! This place is said to be haunted as well, so if you're into that stuff you'll love the atmosphere. Some lady apparently hanged herself from the staircase years ago, I guess she didn't like the way her steak was cooked? Sorry, sorry. Too soon?!

Great experience. One of the few restaurants in the Wiregrass willing to try something new. For an appetizer we tried the grilled peaches with ham which was okay, but had me wishing I had tried the shrimp ceviche with avocado, mango, jalapeno and cilantro. My wife had the sauteed shrimp with grits and sausage which she enjoyed and I had the 8 oz filet with blue cheese cole slaw which was the best steak I have had in the Wiregrass area. Not every item is going to be a home run (though the steak was) but I appreciate that they tried to do something different besides deep fried or bbq.

This was a great find! We were attending a class reunion at Ft. Rucker and looking for a good southern meal. The peanut crusted catfish was a favorite - not a big catfish fan but loved this one. The grouper was good as well. Loved all the vegetables and dessert was fabulous. If you are traveling through this area, you will be happy. The restaurant is located in a historic building. Facing one side you will see the entrance to their bar and from the other side you will see what appears to be the entrance to a hotel.

We held my husband's promotion party at The Rawls with 25 guests in attendance. The atmosphere was great, the food was fabulous, and Chef Bill & staff were super nice and very accommodating.

I'm only giving 3 stars based on my sandwich. We stopped over here for lunch after WOC graduation and met up with some friends. My grilled medium rare steak sandwich was tough, and I was chewing a lump of fat at one point which I had to discard. The salad was great and very fresh! The blue cheese cole slaw was great as well and complimented the steak. My sweetie had the roast beef au jour with chips that he enjoyed. His dad had the catfish which he felt that it tasted frozen so he wasn't pleased too much. I also had a birthday creme brûlée that the waitress brought out. Everyone sang happy birthday which was sooo sweet!!! Service was great and we were the only ones in the restaurant:)

Yum yum yum. Everything here was so tasty. The pork belly appetizer was very good, but very heavy. For the entree we ordered the roasted chicken. We made a fantastic choice. It was perfect!! The chicken was roasted just right and the squash,Brussels sprouts and risotto were great additions. Now for dessert... Strawberry chocolate bread pudding!! We are from out of town but we will definitely try to come again.

The food was fairly decent. I liked the decor quite a bit and there is a wine shop with a good selection. Unfortunately, all that was overshadowed by the inept service and questionable sanitation. When I ask about a drink menu, the waitress replies with "nope". Am I the only person in the world who finds it downright ridiculous when a restaurant doesn't have a drink menu? I mean, the servers could memorize the contents of the bar, but wouldn't it make more sense to have a menu? That just blows my mind. To me, half the fun of going out is looking for something that you haven't tried before, or haven't had for a long time. Next question... Me-"what have you got then?" Waitress- "everything" In my experience, everything really means almost nothing. Normally, this is when I would ask for half a dozen micro-brews that I am fairly certain the waitress has never heard of, just to prove a point. Tonight though, I was just too tired. Me-"I think I'll go with iced tea" Waitress-"sweetened or unsweetened?" Me-"unsweetened" So she brings sweet tea. After repeated attempts to get her attention or ask for unsweetened when she is at the table, I discover that our waitress is either deaf, or ignoring me. After that business finally gets sorted out we place our orders. One of my companions orders a dish with blue cheese and blue cheese dressing for his salad. The waitress decides to inform us that she doesn't like blue cheese and can't understand why anyone would eat it. Great, good for you, now shut the fuck up. Once is not enough though. She brings the wrong dressing for his salad and when he reminds her of what he ordered, she takes the opportunity to remind us of her distaste for blue cheese. Thankfully, she stayed away until the main course came out. Just to keep her batting average at 1.000, she doesn't bring every body's food out at the same time. So half of us get to stare at our food while the other half of the table stares at it also. I am not going to go into the sanitation issue, since this review is already too long. The sad thing is this place could have four, or even five star potential. Something this town really needs...

The setting was nice, I was looking forward to a great meal with my friends. We had reservations for about 10 people. Now I know that's a lot but when you have reservations they are expecting you. We were placed in a room off to the side and after about 5 min we received our water. Now the drink orders came out and it took forever just to get some sweet tea. When I asked for a lime, I was told that they were out, but noticed that several of my friends were getting them with their drinks. I can not count the number of times my glass was empty, several people actually walked into bar to get a refill and I eventually asked for the tea pitcher so that I could drink something with my meal. Just like Zach, our meal came out in parts and we had people looking at each other while others ate. Now to finish this up, when you would expect them to rush us out, they didn't. It took forever to get the check and she even messed that up.
