I ate here while passing through the area on a long road trip. I was staying at a near by hotel and we were in the mood for Mexican so we checked Yelp. We had a good experience here, friendly staff and a clean restaurant. We were seated immediately and drink orders were taken right after that. Salsa was brought to the table in a little jar, with bowls for each person. The salsa wasn't bad but not hot at all. The tortilla chips were good, maybe homemade? I had a Fajita Nacho Plate and my wife had a combination plate with a taco, enchilada and a tostada. She remarked that the taco didn't have anything in it but beef, but that it was still good. Same was true for her enchilada. However she seemed to really enjoy her tostada. My Fajita Nacho plate was offered with either chicken, beef or both. I went for both. The fajita meat at this place is really good. Nice and tender and not dry at all like some places. The rest of the plate had sour cream, guacamole and some other kind of cheese sauce. Overall it was very good. We will definitely eat at this place again when we come back through and I think next time I'll try try the Fajita plate. FYI, they didn't have a liquor license at the time of this review.

Great Mexican food for sure - only down side was we were driving home from Florida and really wanted an adult beverage .... and they don't serve alcohol. Great staff and great food though!

This is my favorite local Mexican restaurant. I can't remember any time I've ever ate here and had bad service or bad food. Always top notch.

Tried the veracruz especial today - some tilapia covered in ranchero sauce. Definitely a nice alternative to all the tasty fried options.

I don't get to Cullman very often but when I do, this is one of two places that I love there (the other being Al's Doghouse). The food is delicious and my favorite item is the Papas Burrito, made potatoes and chorizo...yum! The potatoes are thick fries, though, and I wish that they were more like home fries...but it is so good I am really not complaining. The staff is very warm and friendly, the décor is super festive...very colorful with lots of places for your eyes to wander. It's always a treat to come here!

Excellent food and service! The decor was beautiful and an beautiful and unique! Giant solid wood tables and kings chairs. Beautiful bathroom. I've been on a kick of trying to order a simple shrimp taco with cabbage, cilantro and lime with a corn tortilla. Maximum flavor little filling and every Mexican restaurant has these staple ingredients. However only $10-$15 a plate it was fairly inexpensive this restaurant did charge twice for the same food and drinks then other places I've been to recently. I had three tacos no sides for $10.99 served with wheat tortillas when I specified corn. I never complain or send back food, although I did ask for a few extra CORN tortillas on the side with the guise that the tacos were so big. The waiter realized why I did this which was nice. I hate to complain or point these things out. My value complaint is that one could order a standard fish taco meal or shrimp burrito meal with sides for less. The same 32ounce XX Equis was $10. I had one a few nights ago at at restaurant and it cost $4.99. I suppose we paid for the decor!

The service was terrible! We would have never been served had the manager not taken our drink order (after sitting at the table for ten minutes). After waiting another ten minutes, she had to also take our food order. Our food arrived and my food was cold, but the other two members in my party's food was hot. My quesadilla was rubbery, which gave the impression that it had been cooked in the microwave. The Fajita Taco Salad that my mom got was decent, but the "edible" bowl was inedible. The only entree that we truly enjoyed was my sister's Tex-Mex Fajita Nachos.

This is by far our favorite Mexican restaurant. So much variety and always delicious. We started getting a Burrito de Chili Colorado to share anytime we go because it's that good and we want that dish but also want to try something else. Last night we tried the Tacos de Carne Asada. The simple tacos are flour tortillas with delicious strips of marinated steak then served with pico de gallo and the "special sauce" which is their spicy Chili Colorado sauce. They were awesome! I've also had the chicken soup which was a brothy soup with shredded chicken and rice. So comforting. Be sure to check out my previous reviews for more dish descriptions. Our waiter told us the time before last that you can ask for the Chili Colorado sauce to "spice" up your salsa and chips. The reason it's on my "Top 100 Dishes to Try" list: Burrito de Chili Colorado Tacos de Carne Asada List: The BEST burrito I've ever had.

Chips and salsa are good, salsa has good flavor and a little spice. Ordered the Burrito California, it's huge! Mix of steak strips (tender) and refried beans in burrito, very flavorful and smothered in sauce and cheese. Very tasty and definitely leftovers! The place could be a little cleaner but all in all good value.
