I had some problems when the Hoover store was open (and I lived on that side of town) with both the service and the food the company provided. ON THE CONTRARY, I tried my luck ordering delivery from the Homewood store. They exceed all expectations. My food was delicious, and my service was crazy fast! I will be ordering again.

I ate here b4 I saw the crappy reviews. I honestly thought it was great. Scarfed it down actually. No complaints. I'm no foodie, but then again this place didn't strike me as a foodie type of place. Got to meet the owner who was very kind and nice. I would go back. If want some good Chinese food, I'd say try it out. They do a lot of take out and delivery as well i've heard.

You've got to be kidding me. I order mu shu pork and instead of thin Chinese pancakes, you give me Mexican flour tortillas?!?!?! Yep, taco sized, thick, flour tortillas. Look, I get this isn't fine dining but these people have no pride in what they serve and it shows. Simply disgusting. Never again.

This place is awful. They give you oversized pieces of chicken that's very doughy and sometimes the chicken is undercooked. Loge undercooked chicken has now happen to me twice. I won't be going back.

Lately, service has been terrible. Several times we ordered items were left off (rice with entree, egg rolls, etc). The food remains mostly the same but it really sucks not to get everything you pay for. I have ordered from this store for many years but that is likely coming to an end. Buyer beware and check the order before they leave.

Yoe Xpress in Homewood serves a good purpose: it is the only (to our knowledge) restaurant that provides delivery service of Chinese food in Homewood. For what it seeks to be, it is very good and we enjoy the dishes we order. Once you find the dishes you like from the restaurant, you can count on pretty consistent versions of those dishes, delivered to your door by a nice person. The food overall is pretty good and the people are nice. While it's not comparable to something you'd find in Chinatown in NY or SF, it's good. We are happy that Yoe Xpress serves Homewood.

If I could give it a half star I would. Food not good for the price you pay. Got Kung Pao chicken and it was so oily I couldn't eat it. Had WAY too many peanuts. Won't be going back.

This is one of those places that thinks too highly of their food, which is overpriced and mediocre. Will never come here again.

This place is just bad. I was looking for some quick chinese food, which was half of what this was. I took too long, the chicken was soggy, the egg roll was tiny and the guy at the counter was really rude. Never. Again.

Wandered in, hoping to try someplace new, and ended up walking out based on the terrible attitude of the man behind the counter. The place was empty, so all the guy had to do was be nice to one person, but that was too much for this grumpy Gus. If he's the owner, there's nothing to be done. If he's not, maybe the owner should send in a secret shopper to clue him/her in on why there are so many one-star reviews here.

Staying at the Sheraton downtown for an event and we needed dinner. It was raining so we didn't want to venture out. Thought Yoe Xpress would be a good choice since they offered delivery. Hmm. Food arrived in a fairly timely manner. Not really "Xpress," but not an excessively long wait. The food was relatively well priced. It was also very mediocre in quality and I guess they decided we didn't need the steamed rice that we paid for. The hot & sour soup was exceptional. The appetizer wings were very good, as well. The egg rolls were abysmal and I'm pretty sure they were a frozen, pre-packaged product. The Mongolian beef looked really good but the taste was bland and just not very good. I was full at the end of the meal but just not all that satisfied. The end result for both my husband and I was a couple of hours in the bathroom. Not a great way to spend a Saturday night. :-/

I got hot and sour soup that tasted like it had coffee in it!? The egg roll was greasy but ok. The pepper steak tasted like it had coffee in it too. Gross. Have these people ever tasted good Chinese food?

Watch your credit card statements at this place. After getting carry out and charging it, and not leaving a tip, my credit card statement showed that a tip was left on top of the bill. When confronted they gave me my money back, but this probably have been stealing from customers without people noticing.

Generic Chinese restaurant. Not exceptionally clean, not exceptionally accommodating, not exceptionally well decorated. Oh but how good (no)MSG tastes!

The guy on the phone was a real ass - not surprised if this place tanks - there are too many options for good food in Birmingham.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
