A sports bar that makes you feel like you're in Denny's! This place will be closed in 12 months!

Hadn't been here in a while but glad I rediscovered The Red Zone. The lunch special is a great deal. For such great pub food I can't figure out why this place isn't busy. The sweet heat sauce on the Wings I got were delicious. I also loved the fries that came with them. They have a great seasoning to them and had a perfect crisp to them. This is a very well decorated restaurant and there are TV's everywhere. This would also be a great place to catch a game.

The best part of the place is all the TVs and decor. It really is set up to be an awesome sports bar. Unfortunately, the staff are horrible. The ignore you and are more interested in being on their phones or playing grab and tickle than to get you another beer. Will not go back.

Worst service in Birmingham. All the servers are lazy and just sit at the bar talking. They check on their tables once every 30 minutes. This place could really use bar rescue Update not only are the servers lazy they are rude and they are liars

The Redzone is a sports bar with a somewhat more upscale decor. We just went in here to kill some time before our dinner reservations so we only drank. We sat at the bar so service was not an issue. We even got some complimentary drinks because the bartender made the wrong ones. They serve sushi here which is weird because I cannot imagine eating sushi while I am getting tanked and watching sports but perhaps some like that. They make it at the back half of the bar so we were sitting right in front of the station. One of the guys making it was friendly and chatty and we talked to him and asked him a bunch of questions about sushi and just random shit in general. Clientele was all over the board. Everyone was watching basketball and as there was really only one on at a time the TV situation seemed to be set. Basically there was nothing special about this place. You can watch a game and drink here. Service may vary based on if you sit at the bar or at a table.

I agree with some of the other reviews regarding tv situation. We had a friend who wanted to watch a certain game and could not get it on any of the TVs near us because they subscribe to different providers for different TVs. Their menu is good. I like that they have more than bar food. Sushi at a sports bar is unheard of, but be advised, they don't have a sushi chef all the time, so it's not a constant menu choice. That being said, the sushi chef made some dumplings for us to try that were to die for, and they weren't even on the menu!

I'm sorry, I really wanted to give this place a chance, despite bad yelp reviews, but it just isn't good. They advertise themselves as a better quality sports bar, but honestly it's sub par. The food is all frozen, despite advertising as fresh. The sauces are processed and the staff doesn't really care about serving you. They're only there if you need a fork or something, but good luck getting that without asking them. It's a shame because it looks really cute and has a great location, but they need a menu overhaul and a staff overhaul. My husband had the world's most forgettable burger, and my salad was overdressed with odd looking chicken pieces hiding inside it. The server said not to try the shrimp because it's frozen and not as good as the chicken, which is scary considering how bad the chicken was.... I will say that the garlic toast rounds that came with the salad were good, albeit a little over seasoned and greasy, but good - but I'm pretty sure they were store bought and dressed up. Definitely not made in house either. This place looks better than it performed to be. I'd only recommend this place if you want beer, wings and a game and are drunk enough to not notice that the food isn't really as good as other places that cost the same amount. That was the real insult. If it was cheaper, it would be more excusable. Honestly I'd only recommend this place if they really stepped up their game or if you don't have taste buds. :(

I visited this location because it was convenient to my work and was playing the NL/AUS World Cup game. While I was pleased that all visible TVs were playing the game, the service and food left much to be desired. Upon entering, we were gruffly instructed to wait for the waitress who was "in the back" despite no other customers in sight. Literally, no one, so why did we have to wait only to be told to pick our own seats?! Weird. Service was slow and mediocre. The waitress didn't know the bar's specials (posted clearly on a chalkboard as we walked in) and forced us to wait to 'double-check' advertised beer prices. Wait times for beer would have been average in any other setting than a vacant restaurant... given that we were the only ones being served, they were abysmal. The food was bland and nothing worth ordering twice. I had the BLT which advertised 'local' tomatoes... which must have been a joke. It was served in a sea of greasy chips but the sandwich itself was pretty pitiful... I even had to mayo-up my own BLT... pretty sure that is standard on this sandwich. The beer prices were good but I'd rather pay a $1 or two extra per beer for service/food that wasn't completely forgettable (at best) and deplorable (at worst). As much as I'd like to given the convenient location and niche-filling gimmick, I can't recommend this place.

Great decor and set-up for a sports bar; however, they really need to work out their TV situation. We went on Sunday to watch NFL and had to ask for a specific game to be turned on. After a while the bartender turned off our game to suit some other clients and we had to ask for a different TV to be changed. The staff were all very nice and tried to be accommodating but it was somewhat chaotic. I think it will be much better once they figure that out. As far as food goes, I ordered the hot wings, which comes with fries. The wings were nicely cooked and very meaty, but there was basically no flavor at all. Far far far from anything that could be considered "hot" by the average person. I can't imagine what the mild wings taste like. The fries were ok but kind of soggy. I'll try it again since they are new, but I wasn't that impressed. I hope they can work out some things and survive!

Was visiting UAB Hospital and this place was in walking distance to the Highlands campus. Had a great cheese steak, watched the Mets game on one of their many big screens, and Lala at the bar was aces. Will definitely come back!

Can't see any TVs, beer came out 2/3 full, service painfully slow, 15 min and we still have not been checked on by the wait staff...will be my one and only time in this establishment.

We waited for over an hour for our food. The calamari tasted like it was cooked in cod liver oil; the honey BBQ wings had a hint of taco sauce in the flavor. Our hostess was good but had way too many tables to work; and as she explained the cooking staff was short handed-thus the food delay.
