Pricey but solid, never a bland moment at Superior Grill. It is my wife's favorite here in Birmingham, and while I would put two or three others ahead myself, I still love it. The crazy javier is my go-to, it has a butter sauce that makes it, and the burritos are excellent, the atmosphere is often of drunken revelry, which I enjoy. Parking is problematic on Friday and Saturday nights. Enjoy!

I LOVE Superior Grill. The queso is DELICIOUS. Really, all the food is so so good! It is a bit pricy, so if you're on a date, or taking the family out, I would share! They have great drink specials and bands playing every weekend! Great atmosphere and staff!

I enjoyed the prompt service and the food was blah! I was not a fan of the waiter who persistently interrupted our lunch. ALSO, We were offended that he would tell an inappropriate joke during our meal. Who does that?!? I will not be back anytime soon!

Service could always be better here but the food is yummy! Usually get the shrimp quesadillas and we order cheese dip for the table! We always love sitting down by the pit.

Always excellent food and service. Often visit the restaurant back home in Baton Rouge. Enjoyed my spinach and chicken quesadillas!!!

Slow service, less than impressive food for the price, management was rude. As an out of town guest, was absolutely not impressed. How are they even in business. F+++

Great place for a margarita and music. Most Thursdays-Saturdays you'll find a fun band here giving everyone a great time. The crowd is majority 35+, but that doesn't stop the party... Discounted happy hour margaritas. Food is slightly overpriced for the area. Always eligible and eager bachelors...

Just your average mexican place. Nothing great but nothing terrible. We are so spoiled in Birmingham with great restaurants with unmatchable flavors that a place like superior grill generally falls short. Their fajitas etc are pretty good. I had their brisket taco with was just ok. It is pretty pricy for what you get. If you are in the 280 area, then you can get a decent meal with good chips and salsa here.

Average food, lots if hype outside and large inside not going back, maybe it was the WiseGuy waiter who had to show is his disappearing cigarette trick into his nose...while we were eating... We also had to ask the hostess to tell the cleanup guy not to sweep up the chips all over the floor while we were eating....

We never gave up on Superior Grill and having gone back several times I must say they have it together again. Food is good, margaritas excellent, and chips great. It's my place for Mexican again.

Took over 10 mins to be actually greeted on a Monday night, after several employees saw my group. The server Luis saved our experience. Drinks were fair, food seems over priced.

Decently good Tex/Mex. Service is slow.

We love " the grill". We eat there most Sundays after church. With a wife and four young daughters we need easy but we also demand good food. Atmosphere and friendly service are a must as well. Superior is proficient in all those areas.

I really hate to give superior grill two stars, but after our experience this evening, I do not think I can go too much higher. First I will start off by saying that I was always a huge fan of superior grill. I raved about their chips, salsa, queso, and homemade tortillas all the time. I had a craving this evening, so we decided to go. We were seated at a booth in the back and greeted fairly promptly. All seemed well until our server took our drink order and then decided to have a conversation with a fellow coworker who was sitting across from us. We also ordered queso, which he conveniently forgot. When he brought our drinks back, we ordered because we always get the same thing- steak fajitas. We waited a while for our queso, and when it didn't arrive, my husband went and asked our server where it was. He then replied, "do you want a small?" Really? We had ordered it ten minutes ago. Our server then brought the queso back and claimed he would return to refill my husbands tea, which he never did. We ended up asking another employee for drink refills and more chips. When we finally received our food, which was at least 35-40 minutes after ordering, it looked good. We asked for extra tortillas and an additional side of garlic butter sauce. We have always done this because we split the fajitas and the butter sauce is just plain delicious. We each ate a little bit and then we asked for the check. I think by this pint the excessive wait times and running out of drinks, chips, salsa, and not being brought our queso until we got up and asked the server for it was enough. Our server brought us the check and failed to mention they charge for extra tortillas and the ramekin of garlic butter sauce we were brought. When I asked him when they started charging for tortillas and the garlic sauce, he said "oh about four months ago. I've only been here about four months, but I think it's ridiculous too." He also said they recently changed kitchen manager and he wants to charge for everything, so they can't get anything from the kitchen without ringing it in. It was just a blame game with him. We then paid our check and asked for a to go sweet tea because it was $2.95 and refilled one time (not by our server). I mean really! When the server brought the sweet tea back, he literally reached all the way across my husband, about knocking him over to pick up the signed copy of the check. If that is not the rudest thing I have seen in a long time, I don't know what is!! It's one thing if a guest hands you the check, but don't be disrespectful and launch yourself across the table to pick up the check. I thought he was about lose his balance he reached so far. This was by far the worst experience we have had at superior grill. I will tell you though, they do have delicious chips, salsa, queso, and homemade tortillas. The fajitas were ok this time. I just can't say $22.00 fajitas that were overcooked are great. The service has gone way down hill and the prices are extremely excessive. It's really disappointing because I really loved this place. My husband told me he will just get the chips and queso for me to go when I want it ;). I think we're better off. It's just ridiculous what restaurants will do these days to make a few extra dollars. You already charge Triple the price of your average Mexican restaurant, why not start charging for chips and salsa?

I have heard about this place and had high hopes for it. Sadly these hopes where let down. First we will start with the food I had lunch here although they use a corn tortilla for the enchilada there was little to no sauce on it. The beans where undercooked. The rice was good but this place fails to go beyond an average Mexican restaurant and with such a high price I can't recommend this place. So moving on for the rather average food the service I got was horrible my waiter was never around and disappeared for most of my dinning experience. After asking another worker there for hot sauce he said he would find my waiter it took 15-20 mins for them to even find him. No real quickness to service with no drink refills.

My co-worker and I eat at superior every Friday for lunch. We love it. Good service and good food. The mesquite grilled chicken salad is amazing and it's on the lunch menu! My Co worker always get the crunchy stuffed taco and he loves it. we take all of our contractors there, too. It's a great go-to. Not a huge fan of the margaritas, but good spot for food and some good mexican beer. Ask for Eric, he's awesome and has some good magic tricks!

I tend to sit at the bar every time I go, but all of the bartenders I've dealt with are all nice, friendly and super personable. As a bartender myself, I can appreciate that. The food is great, I've never had them mix up or mess up my order. The quality of the food is better than most any other Mexican inspired cuisines I've had around town. Definitely worth a go, always try a frozen margarita or even a frozen mojito, and if in doubt ask the bartenders for some insight on the menu. They won't lead you astray.

Superior Grill has probably the tackiest building design in all of Alabama I've ever seen. Therefore, it is literally impossible to miss this restaurant on Hwy 280 as its neon glowing exterior resembles a ritzy, flashy Vegas casino that you might find ten miles away from the Strip. I love it. Superior Grill also has superior portions. At first I thought $12-13 was too much for a to-go order of a ground beef taco salad but then the waitress brought out--I kid you not--a catering tray. Please refer to my posted images on this yelp page to see the monstrosity. There was more salad in it than anything but good gracious, this shell was enormous! The amount of chips they gave was more than generous. Why would I never need tortilla chips ever again? I have enough to last me til cinco de mayo. They weren't that good though and they kept breaking even though there wouldn't be much salsa on them. At least the salsa was fresh!

SHORT STORY - A must. I love the fish tacos, Crazy Javier (only at lunch), homemade tortillas, and tomatillo sauce. Service is always good. LONG STORY - FOOD - Reference items above plus my Dad loves the chicken tortilla soup and steak fajitas and my Mom loves the combination platters. This place is a MUST every time they come to Bham. Free warm chips and fresh salsa that keeps coming out. Portions are great. I dont think I have ever finished a meal here but have always taken it home to finish it later! DRINKS - Full bar, plenty of margaritas, and a selection of beer (no craft beer). Happy Hour from 4:30 - 6:30 everyday that includes double pour mixed drinks and margaritas for the price of one but on Thursday, Happy Hour lasts til 9:00 and it is TRIPLE pour for the price of one! No wonder its a meat market on Thursday nights! SERVICE - These guys and gals are on top of it. Refreshing drinks often and very courteous. ATMOSPHERE - The inside has a great feel with white table cloths and great lighting. It is very BUSY on the weekends and bands play outside Wed - Sat. Check the website at birmingham.superiorgrill… for a list of live music.

I love Superior. Great Mexican and you can eat it out on the patio with a live band. Really fun and the service is pretty good too! I love the chips and salsa too~!!

They used the have really good food and happy hour specials. Now it's just below average and over priced. This makes me sad. It's such a great venue and location. I would be tempted to try it again if they brought back some sort of incentive or happy hour.

I am not sure what is going on at Superior Grill. This place has always been my favorite place and I used to go almost weekly. However, the food has taste and quality has gone down hill. I have noticed the chips that used to be so good are heavier and greasy. I left that feeling oiled up a little too much. Want be back in a hurry to go back that's for sure.

  • Mallory B.

For party day, this is where I love to go. It's hard to beat their margaritas! And the chips are perfect... I got a chicken tamale. It was amazing. The corn tamale was the best I've ever had!

    (5)
  • Michael S.

Terrible. Went for a family birthday party, 6 dollars for a 4 inch long tamale that was cold in the middle! 13$ for a six inch "burrito" that had maybe eight medium shrimp in it, and a scoop of rice on the side. The rest of our party was dissapointed with their bland and oddly cooked food, nachos came out soggy, chicken was flakey like you would imagine fish to be, and our party of over 25 only had one server assigned! My drink was empty the whole time. So unimpressed.

  • Rachel A.

I have had many a cinco de mayos here during my college years but for some reason I haven't frequented this spot since then. Went yesterday to lunch with the coworkers. Our waiter was very attentive and took our orders quickly. I got the chicken street tacos, co worker got Mike's quesadilla and another co worker got the smothered shrimp burrito. The chicken in my tacos were flavored well but I guess I'm used to white soft tortillas because the flautas were just too thick for me. I was missing my side of rice and beans but the entree alone was pricey for lunch so I left it alone! The quesadilla was standard with all the fixings. The smothered shrimp burrito was excellent! I could've traded with him! Full of flavor! Now the chips and salsa are where it's at!

    (3)
  • Rob W.

This place is a hot mess with poor food quality and overpriced margaritas made from a mix. The long wait, slow inattentive service and poor meal quality will keep me away from here.

    (1)
  • Brad H.

Surprised to only see a 3 star average for Superior. Lunch is the main time I dine here, so it's a no brainer for the Crazy Javier every time. Eight ounce sirloin cut, medium rare. Ask for some tortillas if you want to cut your steak and eat it with your hands. Like Garrett I. said in his helpful, detailed review beer options are lacking with no craft beer and only bottled options (no draft!). That counts this place out for night life for me, but the food is great. Queso with meat, do it.

    (4)
  • Jessica M.

Very unimpressed. The place was packed, and I am honestly surprised how they had so much business. The food is SO over-priced. We went for a birthday dinner, and spent nearly $200 on 10 people, and the sad thing is: half of us split meals!! $8 for a single taco. The food was not very good. Some came out cold, and the portions were tiny for the price. Definitely will not go back.

  • Kelly M.

I went here while in town on business, some people told me that they had really good excellent vegetable fajitas. I was greatly disappointed, the veggies that were given to me were basically raw. The only reason I am even giving them 3 stars is because their chip tortillas are pretty good. Nothing special, just an average mexican place.

I try to go whenever I'm in Birmingham (every couple of years visiting friends or on business). Service is good & fast. Food is great and portions are very good too. We went Saturday & got lucky with parking and were seated almost immediately (usually there is a long wait). My friends kids had a school project to order their meals in Spanish but, go figure, our waitress didn't speak any Spanish so we had to order twice!

    (4)
  • Jason S.

Good place to go if you have a large dinner or office party lined up. Professional, attentive staff. The only real menu standout I've ever had here is the Crazy Javier- it's fantastic! Every other meal I've had here was just blah. Large crowds and live music on the weekends so get there early! They go all out for Cinco de Mayo celebration!

  • Ryan H.

Superior Grill is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I always get the steak superior burrito. The chips and salsa are very good too. What I like about the chips and salsa is that each person gets their own bowl of salsa. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

My wife and I had a date night 9/24. We sat in bar area and we just sat there. The bar tender threw up a basket of chips and salsa and motioned my wife to get them. She gave the bartender our order and asked for menus. He put our drinks at the edge of bar and made us wait our own table. No one served us, we had our one drink and promptly left. This had been our fourth time there and last. The service always so unfriendly, servers never smile and make you feel unwelcome. And always over priced.

  • Erin Q.

My boss and I went here while in town for business. He dropped me off at the door because there was no parking in the lot. He ended up going across the street to park. I would have never guessed it was a Mexican restaurant by its name. We ordered margaritas, well, because why not? It was super strong, but I'm not complaining! The chips were hot and the salsa was so-so. I'm a big fan of the regular queso dip and this one was more like queso con carne, so it was ok. I ordered the carnitas and they were amazing. Three to a plate and rice so there was plenty of food! My boss ordered a chicken chimichanga which came smothered in queso so I was a little jealous. He also enjoyed his food. No room for dessert,!

    (3)
  • Deborah H.

With a few tweaks, this restaurant could be so much better. The chips are light and crispy. The salsa always tastes fresh. And I love their refried beans. But the entrees just seem to fall short. The food is good but just not great. And on my last visit I noticed all the tables were dirty so I watched as the customers behind me left. The server came over and took away the plates, etc. and straightened up the condiments but at no time did I see the table or any table cleaned. So if you drop that chip on the table- leave it.

Some of the freshest and tastiest mexican food I've ever had. I'm not a food snob, but I've eaten alot of mexican food. I worked in this area for awhile (about 5 yrs ago) and was a frequent visitor. Not sure if it is still as good as it was back then but I've considered taking a trip to AL just to go to Superior Grill! lol Don't forget to get the chips and queso... excellent

Wish I could give a negative rating instead of awarding one undeserved star. Had a TERRIBLE experience at Superior Grill last night. My first and last time there. The hostesses were too busy talking to each other to notice that we were standing there waiting on a table, and after we were seated, while we received chips and salsa the second we sat down it took us over ten minutes to get drinks. Unacceptable. A new woman came to take our orders, but she never came back to check on us, refill drinks, etc. Finally the food came, but our waitress never came to see how the food was. Totally unfriendly and inattentive. While we were there we witnessed an astonishing amount of unprofessionalism in the restaurant including butt-slapping in front of the kitchen and massage trains (yes, multiple employees giving each other massages while on the clock and in clear view of customers). The waiters and hosts seemed more interested in each other than doing their jobs. I understand that it's a casual restaurant, but I was honestly astounded (and I've worked for five years in the restaurant industry so I tend to be pretty sympathetic but they don't deserve any kind of benefit of the doubt). The food wasn't nearly good enough to justify the terrible service, and the food wasn't brought fresh to the table -- you could tell it had been waiting on the line for a while before it was finally brought to the table. My quesadilla was TINY and mostly flavorless. We ordered queso as well, and it had been sloshed in the bowl carelessly, so there was cheese dip all down the side of the bowl and all over the saucer. Presentation counts, people. What a mess. When we left, I wanted to speak to a manager, but I couldn't find one. No manager seemed to be doing the rounds, checking in with tables, and the few men I saw who looked like managers were acting so unprofessionally with the waiters and flirting with the hostesses (and some girl dressed in a red tank top and short-shorts with heels kept running around the restaurant -- is that really how you want the restaurant represented?) I didn't think they'd want to talk to a customer anyway. We ended up leaving without being able to talk to someone about our terrible experience. The hostesses were at the hostess stand (shockingly, since they were gone from there for most of the night while we were eating) when we left, but were too busy talking to each other to thank us for coming and wish us a goodnight. I am beside myself with shock because of how bad absolutely everything was. Will not be back. Clearly customers aren't appreciated or wanted.

I USED to love this place for the happy hour and buffet! But since they took it away, the only thing worth going for is the cheese dip....everything is wayyyyy over priced!

    (4)
  • Brandon C.

This place has good food, live music many nights, and a generally festive atmosphere. The food is Tex Mex, so if you are looking for a really authentic Mexican experience, you may be a bit disappointed. Superior Grill makes their own flour tortillas, which are usually served warm. Chicken based dishes are usually the best. Fish tacos are a healthier, albeit bland option. The chicken fajitas are pricey, do lack sour cream as a topping, but are filling. Valet parking is available, as parking can be tough on busy nights. Long waits can occur on weekends, but weeknights are not a problem. Given the lack of super non-chain choices along 280, Superior Grill is a good choice among the chains.

I've been here a few times and most of the time I've enjoyed meeeeeeh tex mex style food. The margarita's aren't to bad. They are made from a mix (at least it certainly tastes that way). It's not expensive so I understand why it's packed. Their customer service really stinks. The last time I was there was with a bunch of friends for happy hour. It was a Wed evening and we all arrived at 4:30 PM. The place was empty but they have a great happy hour special (4:30 - 6:30) that includes a small food buffet. Well, the buffet was chips and tacos with toppings. I have to eat gluten and refined carb free so I went and asked if I could have a fork since everything else needed a fork. I grabbed a fork from a table and started eating. Shortly after a manager came up to me and told me that I couldn't use the fork to eat and that they didn't allow forks at the happy hour. I explained my dietary restrictions and he refused to budge. He literally stood and lectured me in front of a table of 6 people about all the food has to be eaten with your hands. I He told me that if I wanted a fork and knife i would have to order something from the menu. So I agreed to order an appetizer and then he just left, didn't offer to take my order, didn't send someone over to take my order, nothing. I was so appalled by this treatment. I've never heard or a restaurant NOT giving out forks and knives. Seems a little ridiculous if you ask me, especially when there aren't any other customers around and you aren't busy at all. There are better tex mex places in Birmingham. Don't waste your time or money on this place.

One of my favorite restaurants! BEST cheese dip I've ever had! More pricey then your typical Mexican restaurant, but worth it!

  • stefano m.

Food was okay. Key Lime Pie tasted like a burrito. The margarita was the worst I've had since moving to Alabama. But the kicker is the service absolutely sucked. I recommend going elsewhere. Overrated! One star is too many.

  • Dax B.

Please. this place is fine for ok Tex-Mex, but it's so far from "the best Mexican food in Birmingham" that it's laughable. Any of the taquerias would put it to shame, most especially Gordo's. I've never had anything bad here, just nothing that wowed me. Oh and they can't cook the steaks property to order.

In Birm on business and stayed at the Residence Inn, so luckily didn't have to deal with the total parking nightmare everynight. (not enough of it). So thankfully we only had to walk next door. We came back 4 or 5 times the two weeks we were there. The Mexican food was very, very good. They have a free mexican happy hour buffet most nights....and its ok if you like that kind of thing (chips and salsa were our favorite, really good, but they have a little bit of everything on the buffet). Love the atmosphere, love being able to listen to a band after dinner and have a pitcher of margaritas.....nice. They make their own handmade tortillas and chips...which are wonderfully good. Everything I had was very good, Carnitas Salad was great, fish tacos another night were excellent. In general, wish there was a Superior Grille in Rochester. Wait staff was very nice every time we went. Would totally go back here. I would definitely go early though.........the parking is quite challenging.

Food is okay. Many better Mexican restaurants in the area. i suppose the crowds come due to the live band and bar.

Well. This place has been better in the past. We used to go all the time. I live in Atlanta now. I was visiting Birmingham over the past week and really wanted to go to Superior Grill and get some chips, fajitas, you know all the good stuff that you would expect from a Mexican Restaurant. We got there about 4:45 in the afternoon on a Thursday, so this is warming up to prime time. It was good, but it did not knock me out of the park. The chips were fresh, but were not spot on. The Chicken soup is wonderful, I think it might be there best menu item. The service is impeccable. The main courses were just ok. My mom got Fish tacos, I got carnitas(pork was good, corn shell was bad), my wife got the quesadillas, and I ordered extra guacamole to dip the chips in. Overall it was just ok and we paid a lot for three people to eat. I cannot say I am excited to go back to this restaurant. I forgot to mention the cheese dip is also wonderful. So if you go order the chicken soup and the cheese dip. It will not be a whole lot to eat, but you will have ordered two of the best things on the menu.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I moved here from Southern California recently and was craving mexican food and didn't feel like cooking myself. The only edible thing at this restaurant were the chips and salsa, the meat is very bland and everything was swimming in cheap oily cheese. There is nothing authentic about this restaurant. A note about the service, the waiters were all sitting at tables in the back texting on their cell phones, oh wait maybe there is something authentic, that's the Southern California work ethic (I grew up in the midwest and only lived in SoCal for two years). If someone could recommend some good mexican or salvadorian food in Birmingham send a message my way, until then I'll be making mexican food at home.

I don't understand why this place gets as much business as it does. The food was absolutely horrible. The service was just adequate. I went here 3 times to give it some chances, but it failed miserably each visit. Do not waste your time with this place. Go to Chipotle up the road a couple of feet if you need a mexican food fix. You would be much better off going to Cocina at Brookwood Mall, Chuy's, ...hell, even Cheesecake factory. @ Kyle G.:"If you are familiar with papasitos this is very similiar in food and decor. Excellent fajitas, the Tampico is outstanding as well as all the more traditional Mexican dishes." You can't be serious? You're serious, aren't you? Saying this place is on par with Papasito's is sacreligious.

The service is average, but the food is mostly really good. Sadly, it doesn't compare to the original one in Baton Rouge, LA.

I cannot understand the reviews this place Has gotten, some didn't even eat the food!?! If you are familiar with papasitos this is very similiar in food and decor. Excellent fajitas, the Tampico is outstanding as well as all the more traditional Mexican dishes. I have been to superior grill more times than I can recall. There is some truth to the rude bartender, I have experienced that myself at the outside bar at night.

Want some really bad chain restaurant Mexican food??? Well here it is...I tried it twice just to give it a chance...I really can't think of one good thing about it...Ok, there were some hot girls at the restaurant... and they didn't know any better either.... Over salted everything...crappy bartenders with an attitude....um... Enjoy!!!!

I went during Happy Hour. They had $2 domestics and free food - tacos, chips, taquitos, and other Mexican food. I was surprised that the food was free, and enjoyed it with several happy-hour beers. It was a great experience, and cheap too! I'd be interested in going back and ordering off the menu.

If I was from Alabama, I think I'd have to build a great big fake Texas place too. It seriously annoys me that they have several Lone Star signs (one HUGE) and NO Lone Star Beer. None. I'm not sure if they even had Shiner. They also had some other fake Texasy crap, like a Gruene Hall sign by the stage, and other signs for places and things in Texas. The reclaimed wood was sort of cool, and I liked how they had a semi-outdoor live music facility. I didn't taste the food (I was there for a concert), but it looked like typical crappy Tex-Mex fare. The clientele here is loud and rude. At least I did feel like I was in Texas when I had to ask for "los banos."

I practically lived at the Residence Inn while in Birmingham for business. Right next door was Superior Grill and everynight after work, it was crowded, with parking overflowing into the street and even across the street into the empty lot. I wasn't familiar with Yelp last year so I asked my co-workers and other locals I got to know. Everyone raved about this place and said it was "a must". Coming from Southern California I was a little skeptical with Mexican food in the South, but I figured, ok I'll give it a try. Finally after hearing about it for over a month, I stayed over the weekend and had my friend fly in. We got there Sunday afternoon just after it opened and there were about 10 cars there alreadt, so I figured it had to be decent. I ordered chicken enchiladas, something simple and my friend ordered beef tacos, something else that's generally safe. The servers were Mexican so I had confidence in this place. When the salsa arrived is when I started to get worried. The salsa was worse than what u get at a market and the chips were bland. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't want to prejudice myself against the rest of the meal. I asked for a hotter salsa and it was edible. Then I saw it, the plate of taco shells coming towards us and as they served us, the beef was ground beef and had a mahogony color. The enchiladas were barely coverd in sauce and the chees on top was not melted. I asked for more sauce but it never arrived. The chicken was dry and the tortillas were as if they came straight from the packaging. The rice was the most decent thing on the plate but after tossing half the bowl of salsa for flavor. The beans tasted as if they were straight from the can and knew why the entire family of 4 substituded the beans for double rice. The taco fell apart on the first bite and cannot even describe the taste. We asked for more salsa and sour cream, but not even a jar of La Victoria could save this meal.

This is a superior Mexican resturant. I like the chips cause they are the best and lightest in town. I had the street tacos beef and they were really good. For out of towners this is a really safe bet.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
