This is The Best Sandwich Truck in Birmingham! However, with this designation, the lines match. I waited over 45 minutes for my order, which was places through the app tapingo. Let's get back to the cuisine, they only have three food options and they do each superbly. The go to sandwich for myself is the flying hawian! You start off with a hot cross bun and add freshly cut sugar ham and MELT (hints the name) it all together with peperjack cheese! It is a delightful sandwich! So if you're ever in Birmingham don't be scared to try a food truck, you won't be let down at MELT!

I grew up eating and loving grilled cheese sandwiches. I've also always loved food trucks. Combine the two and I have found my soulmate! MELT never seems to disappoint, except the time when they said they were going to offer my favorite, Old Smokey, and when I finally found Matilda (the truck), the cook said they were out of turkey that day. I forgive you, MELT. The brick and mortar restaurant is fairly close to my house. Another win for me. Now I can have yummy grilled sandwiches and fries any day I please. They are a little pricey, but I like to splurge every now and again on something different. Plus, the sandwiches are usually enough for two meals. I highly recommend giving them a try for an old childhood favorite.

The food was amazing. Great salads, appetizers, sandwiches and drinks. The Trim Tab craft brew was fantastic! Great atmosphere, super servers and the food was fabulous!

Not impressed with any part. Waiter was nice but not informed. Food just average. Wouldn't go out of my way again.

Yes Lord Yes! I have to say I would follow this food truck wherever and whenever I am around. I have yet to visit the establishment but was lucky enough to have someone suggest I taste a sandwich from the food truck. My only issue is where does one find this truck on a regular day? :) I had the pulled pork sandwich without slaw and on Texas Toast. Only reason I don't have a picture was that I was at first hungry enough to take one bite, next thing I know it was all gone! Definitely find out where they have this truck and hit me back on here. Delicious! They park at the minor league baseball games too!

Their sandwiches are always solid and their fries are the bomb. They constantly rotate menu items and incorporate fresh ingredients. It's much more than grilled cheeses - don't let the name fool you. They have plenty of hearty sandwiches with a variety of meats and vegetables to go along with the melted cheese!

I was getting ready to head down the block for a bit of lunch when I spotted the Melt truck directly across the street. I've always been a fan of grilled cheese & tomato soup - a slam dunk of comfort lunch foods - so a food truck self-proclaimed as "a grilled cheese truck" was worth a try. They had a menu drawn up on a marker board, a table with chips and paper towels, and a cooler of drinks set out on the sidewalk. I went for the "Melt" with bacon as an add-on (and I actually called it a "bacon melt," which they liked) with a baggie of chips. I hit the line with about four other folks, but within a few minutes, my fresh grilled cheese 'n' bacon sandwich was handed down from the truck, and I found a spot to sit and try my discovery. And it was muy delicioso! The Texas Toast bread was grilled superbly around a three-cheese blend and plentiful slices of thick bacon. The schedule on their website just states that lunch is from 11a-1:30/2p, but it looks like they're pretty good about keeping folks posted about their lunch location via facebook.

A SOLID MEH?? Have tried this a few times now....man, I wish it was better! Who wouldn't love a GRILLED CHEESE truck??? Sadly, not this one....Buffalo Chicken Melt- permafrost frozen fingers with bottled sauce and cheese. Hawaiian- grilled ham, Cajun pineapple (chunks?? Not slice) cheese on pretzel bun. Reuben- with pepper jack????. Everything is just alright...nothing is stunning. Has all the makings for awesome, just not hitting the mark. Believe me, I've cooked in a lot of places with few resources....there is no reason a food truck can't produce SPECTACULAR food.

Love me some melt. Eaten from here a couple of times and they've been outstanding.

Underwhelmed. Best part of the sandwich was the grilled bread. I had the southern heirloom tomato add bacon. Cole slaw had no flavor and the whole sandwich was just lacking. Reuben was eh and burger was ok. Fries were cold and overcooked. Service was mediocre though our drinks did stay full. All in all doesn't measure up to the hype. I may give it a second chance bc I think it's a cool concept.

Grossly unprofessional. Book this truck and they will back out a couple of hours before your event if they THINK it is going to rain. As it turns out, it didn't rain a drop. And they left our event hanging. Also, they are ridiculously over-priced. MELT sells grilled cheese, folks. AVOID THIS "FOOD TRUCK" AT ALL COST. It will save you A LOT of grief.
