We had a good experience here last night. An out of the way location in a sleepy strip shopping center is likely not a big plus for this business. We found the service to be friendly and helpful. The menu features all of the usual items and combos one would expect to find in a Tex-Mex restaurant. But, there are several things I had not heard of before. Some of them could be promising on a future visit. We enjoyed drinks at the bar and ordered Combo Steak and Chicken Fajitas as well as an order of queso to go. The queso was good, it had just a bit of heat as an aftertaste. The fajitas were also good. No complaints at all. As others have said, nothing spectacular or amazing...but, not too bad either.

This location just opened about a week or so ago, so it's understandable to me that the service is still working out the kinks. I went last night in a group of 6, and they had a table ready for us within minutes -- although it took considerably longer to put in orders or have drinks or anything on the table. That said, when the food arrived, it was worth the wait -- for all of us! After average drinks (I had the mojito) and countless baskets of crunchy chips & medium salsa, we were all pretty surprised at how great our entrees tasted. I, of course, had the Vallarta Fish Tacos, and loved the different seasonings that they used, and the fresh avocados inside. The tacos were full, juicy, and came with a side of pineapple chunks and an optional condiment dip that complemented the flavors with a spicy kick. The rest of the plate included rice and refried beans that, again, were average and pretty much left untouched after tasting, but the tacos alone are worth the order! My friends raved about their entrees as well, like the Tacos al Pastor and Bistec in Pasilla. The staff were all extremely nice and attentive, and I hope that once they really have their system in place, everything will run more smoothly for them! But honestly, even if they don't, I know I'll be back -- for the tacos and other menu items that look too good to pass up.

Restaurant is kind of a hole in the wall with a poor atmosphere. We were seated in a rocking booth next to the kitchen and the restroom. I didn't think I was dressed that badly. Oh well, I endured it. For appetizers we ordered guacamole and the cheese, both cup size. Guacamole was so salty I could not taste the avocado. The cheese was so watery that I would never order it again. The complementary chips were average. Salsa was okay, but not one of the best. The service was actually pretty good. I selected the tacos al pastor for my main dish. They were not stellar, but were good. Beans and rice were the usual for the many Mexican restaurants in the area. My wife got steak fajitas. These were fairly tasty and the rendered sauce was actually quite good. Summing up, I would visit again. However, you should know that this is an average food experience with no atmosphere. If you just want Mexican food, you will be okay. However, if it is a wonderful evening you are after, go somewhere else.

Very very average. Not to say it's bad, just nothing to rave about.

Let's start with the postives. The Pepsi I ordered tasted like Pepsi and had an adequate amount of ice. It devolved quickly from there. My burrito was covered in a watery/milky "cheese type" dip. Beside it sat my chicken enchilada (which at first glance appeared normal), a rice scoop, and what appeared to be a brownish goo, which I later discovered was refried beans. I took one bite of the burrito and one bite of the enchilada. My normally "iron stomach" immediately sent signals to my brain that this was not a meal that my body could hold down. I could go no further. While it looked like normal Mexican food, the taste and consistency were nothing short of terrible. My lunch companion muddled through about 4 or 5 bites of his burrito before calling it quits and tried the brownish goo as well. He felt pretty confident it was refried beans, albeit the worst he'd ever eaten. We politely paid our check and headed for the McDonald's down the street. I hate to leave a bad review, but the food was just terrible.

I should have recognized the warning signs when there was a Groupon for a new Mexican restaurant; against my better judgement, I purchased it anyway. It was a classic gotcha. Where to begin? The service was slow, the salsa runny, the guacamole had part of the seed of an unripe avocado, and both our fish (~3 oz.) tacos and shrimp "flaming (means +$2 cheese, no cheese otherwise)" fajitas were cold and saltier than the Dead Sea. Most of the other people were probably in our same boat and I wanted to warn them, but I'd guess they'll learn the hard way as well. Needless to say we won't be back and they probably don't have many return customers.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
