I was offered a special that was suppose to be $7.99, when the bill came i was charged $13.99. Check your bill, the lack of business is being made up with up-charges. food was good, drinks were good, staff was good.

Tried this place out while visiting a friend in Auburn. She hadn't been before, but we decided to take a chance. The restaurant was slightly slow, but it was Memorial Day weekend. I'm told the town is deserted during this time, so we won't use that against them. The atmosphere is okay. Nothing special. We sat on the patio, and it was fine. Lots of flies, but I guess that's to be expected. They brought out ceviche first. It was amazing. Fresh and all the flavors mesh perfectly. We ordered the guacamole, and that was also delicious. So far, so good. I ordered a margarita, and my friend ordered a beer. The margarita was clearly made from a mix. Nothing special about it. For my entree, I had steak fajitas. All very good. The service was good and the food came out quickly. Overall, the experience was good. Nothing incredibly outstanding, except the ceviche. My girlfriend seemed pleased, so I think she and her husband (who are local) will be returning.

Food is terrible and I am a 100% Mexican (born and razed), this food was in all different ways bad!! Quality dish not prepared well, etc ... The service was ok... Besides all you get is crab imitation food.... Guess what "Alberto" had the nerve to send me a note asking me no to return again if I did not like the food!

I don't go down this street very often so I just found this place. It's in the old Uptown location. Went for lunch and had the camarones la palma. Shrimp in a cream sauce ... really good. The only thing that would have been better would be a bit more rice. I hope they do well and I plan on going back a lot for lunch.

La Palma is the best Mexican food in town, amidst quite a few other options. It also hosts the most diverse menu, offering many great seafood dishes -oysters to ceviche to fish and shrimp- and not mention all the usual favorites. In addition, the service has been friendly and prompt across multiple visits. So look no further if Mexican food is on your mind and give La Palma a try! Ps..full bar with many beer and (delicious) margarita options

Excellent fish ceviche and shrimp tacos! They have a promising outdoor seating area, and a small but powerful menu loaded with Mexican seafood specialties. I'm looking forward to trying out their lunch specials and paying another visit soon.

I really wanted to like this place (3 tries), but it has gotten consecutively worse and I will not be back. Last night started out poorly when my friend ordered a strawberry margarita that tasted gross - I tried it too and agreed (kind of like stale syrup). She told the bartender and asked if she could have a different drink and he responded that no one had complained about one of his drinks before. Then he reluctantly made her another and said she'd have to pay for that one regardless. (If you order a drink, I recommend the cantaritos.) She ordered the shrimp empanadas - greasy, lacking flavor. I had fish and shrimp tacos - also bland, tortillas so flimsy I couldn't even attempt to pick them up. At least the guacamole was good! There were 15 people (max) there at 7 on a Saturday night with a lot of people in town for A-Day. At first that made me sad, but now I understand why.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
