I once had awful service here, but that was just once. Other than that, it's very good. My husband and I love the steak and lobster. We've had some VERY nice servers! The manager is nice, too. We will keep coming back.

It's a chain, so it is hit and miss. It all boils down to management and which particular one is working on the day you visit. At the Alabaster, AL location, you can have a very good experience, good food, good service, and no complaints. You can also have a bad experience, bad food, terrible service, and plenty to complain about. I have had both experiences at this location, but more often than not, this is a good location. The biggest problem I have with Ruby Tuesday (and a lot of chains in general) is the menu is constantly changing. You find something that you like and when you return, it is no longer on the menu. There must be some kind of dine-in chain restaurant focus group out there that thinks constantly changing the menu is a good thing. You see this at Ruby's, O'Charley's, Olive Garden, etc. One change that Ruby's has made recently is the seafood. They are really doing seafood better than any of the other chain restaurants. There are several choices like blackened tilapia, shrimp skewers, whitefish, a few nice salmon dishes, and a new jambalaya pasta that is full of shrimp and flavor. I don't really care for the steaks. Obviously, this is not a steakhouse and they do not advertise themselves as such. Like most other chain restaurants, there are good things on the menu and others that make you say "what?!" after trying them. Ruby's features good seafood (we will see for how long), an eclectic group of appetizers of which several are good including: spinach & artichoke dip, spring rolls, chicken quesadilla, and asian chicken lettuce wraps, and decent ribs. Another good menu item are the burgers. They appear to be a little pricey on first glance, but you really get your money's worth. You can even get a burger made from 100% Prime beef, which a difference in taste is very evident. Throw in the famous salad bar, and there is a lot to choose from for a variety of tastes in your party. Just remember, if there is a manager that seems to be holding up the bar with his backside, you might be in for a bad time.

My wife and I picked up 1. Shrimp, Andouille Sausage and grits - excellent choice. Shrimp where nice size and plenty of good Sausage. 2. Sirloin and Shrimp - again excellent choice. Big shrimp - lots to eat. Great quality and food was cooked perfectly. The management was also outstanding and overly nice to me while I waited. They brought me a ice tea to make my wait more comfortable as well which I thought was a nice touch. GOOD JOB!

Came here on Christmas Eve (yes, better late than never review) there was no wait and got good seats. They seemed to be under staffed that night and the bartender was our waitress as well. So with that being said, service was a little slow. We ordered their fried green beans for appetizer and they were absolutely delicious!! Our steaks took longer to come out but we're cooked correctly. Overall I was pleased. Will try again on a different day and not a holiday and see how service holds up!

It's good but not great. Chain store food. Service was ok, food was good. Onion rings were good but fell apart while trying to eat. smoky mountain chicken is good but I will try different sides next time. I'll go again but I'm not in a rush.

It's a chain like any other so your getting what you expect food wise, that being said the waiter was excellent. Attentive but not oppressive, had good suggestions for drinks and food, wish I owned a restaurant so I could hire him. (Also wish I saved receipt so I could remember his name and give him props!)

I was traveling by and had to spent a weekend in Alabaster, AL. Went for dinner Saturday and came back on Sunday. Very nice staff and waitresses. Food was great, too. I had Ribeye Steak first day and Tilapia on Sunday. Will definitely come back .
