I really only had two choices to make and the hotel recommended with this restaurant. It was a great choice. The owner greeted us at the door and gave her recommendations which were delicious. I posted a few photos. I hope you enjoy!

The kang pao halibut was off the chains good. Get it. The owner appears to be Korean, but they make better Chinese food than most Chinese restaurants.

Fabulous spicy food. Specially Sezuan pork and chicken noodles are good.

This is a very nice place. We are vegetarians and had a great meal here. We wanted a dinner hot and spicy. The owners served the food we ordered. They exactly made it how we wanted. They were very friendly and the quantity was more than enough!!!

I'd say the food was a 3.5 but I am giving it a 4 because we never expected to find good Chinese food here. Sick of the food choices as we traveled throughout the state-either expensive seafood or less expensive fried seafood-we opted to take a risk and try this place out. We had two chicken dishes which had fresh veggies. With rice. Not bad at all The owner MiMi is a character and the place itself has a lot of character. These tourists left quite happy and full.

Not the best, not the worst. Seward isn't really booming with amazing places to eat, so if you want something to eat, I'd recommend this place if you aren't wanting fast food.

Excellent Chinese place in Seward. The hostess was very accommodating and prepared us several vegetarian dishes with a nice authentic spicy taste! We ordered the hot and sour soup, veg chowmein, Kung pao tofu. All dishes were very delicious! Highly recommended!

I LOVE the interior of this place and the nice older owners who serve you. I got the combo recently and found the food to be good, though the Mongolian Beef was a little too salty. My friend's chow mein was da bomb. We would have tried The Oriental Garden but they were on vacation. It is right across the street half a block down and the two restaurants will take their vacations one after another to keep things fair. The crappiest part was the TV that was on in the corner. It was on way too loud. If I wanted to watch TV while i ate I would have just ordered takeout and went back to Hotel Seward...

Let me start off by saying that this is a 2 star place compared to Chinese fast food in the lower 48 but closer to 3 star for rural Alaska. We were coming to Seward on a Sunday evening after rafting the afternoon on 6-mile creek looking for a place for dinner. The Thai joint was already closed and we didnt want super expensive seafood so we decided on here. We ordered the following: Shrimp Chow Mein: too sweet but plenty of shrimp Teriyaki Chicken/Mongolian Beef Combo: again too sweet and beef was breaded and fried All in all if you want Americanized Chinese fast food this should hit the spot. Next time I would ask them to make the dishes a little bit less sweet.

Since the Thai place is so packed, so tried this one. The worst Chinese food or American Chinese food ever.... Actually the food has nothing to do with Chonese food at all. The lady told one of the guests that she had never tried any dishes..... Horrible food.....dont go.

The owners are Korean instead of Chinese. They are not traditional Chinese food. They are too sweat.

We had a wonderful experience .On a rainy Saturday night we decided to have dinner at the Peking Chinese Restaurant.Four adults and two kids,we ordered a variety of appetizers to start with.Followed by broccoli beef, cashew chicken, teriaky beef and a family meal combination .Our table was packed with dishes, dipping sauces and soups.Everything was delicious. The owner is very nice and personable. We would all come back in a heartbeat-we definetly will be back when we come back to Seward. An unexpected nice experience. We'll be back!

Sadly, like your typical Americanized Chinese food, most dishes were just way too sweet (even the noodles). Many of the vegetables were undercooked. The fried rice was actually OK. I definitely wouldn't go back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city.
