Definitely the best fish sandwich I've ever had! They have the freshest locally caught cod available. Steak nights on Fridays serve up a fantastic ribeye that is served with a fresh salad, an enormous baked potato and sides. No pretensions here, just good food and atmosphere.

My goodness, this bar is unreal. After spending some time at sea - some of my favorite memories are in this bar. The bartenders remember you by name and are always eager to listen to all of your sea stories. Simple decor with the usual appointments of pool and darts but this is Alaska we're talking about after all. Special tip: Ask for the shot-ski (but make sure you've got a least 3 buds with you).

My favorite bar in Kodiak! The best (in no particular order): - The Shot-Ski (literally, shot glasses glued to a ski, take it with friends!) -Excellent live music, when available -Nice atmosphere, low drama (relative to other Kodiak bars) -Superb clam chowder The worst: -Inconsistent hours, I suggest calling in advance -Location is approx. 20 mins driving from downtown Kodiak. There no public transport and taxis are extremely expensive. Overall: if you have time and a car, a good night at the Rendezvous is always worth the trip.

This little roadhouse had the best clam chowder I've ever had. I was amazed! Also on the menu are burgers and pizza, but it's worth a trip just for the chowder. It comes in cup, bowl, and jumbo size. It's perfectly paired with an ice cold Alaskan Amber or Summer Ale. We were there on a Friday night and the steak dinner smelled wonderful. Apparently it's one of the best in Kodiak. Unfortunately, they were sold out and we didn't get to try it. You have to order ahead for steak night, because it's that good. Be sure to call on Wednesday or Thursday.
