Why go out when you can eat at your hotel? I went out to town restaurants first couple of nights of my stay and regretted it. The food was fresh and well presented. Friendly staff, I will be back all week!

Wednesday burger and brew is a great deal, but this place definitely exploits it's position as the only restaurant in Kodiak with a classically trained American Chef. The food is consistently under-executed. I've eaten here over a dozen times... I never Yelped about it because, let's face it, when you're in Kodiak there is much better stuff to do then Yelp about restaurants. Kodiak has a crazy way of making you trade in your more refined self for a more utilitarian self. Back to the restaurant: Their menu is expensive, even in a Kodiak. It changes fairly frequently (this is the ONLY restaurant in Kodiak that has changed it's menu in the year I lived there). I got an asparagus salad last visit which was really nicely done, but my charcuterie plate was a mess, and when I asked the server about it, she was clueless. She was a 20 year old girl, so when another server brought me my drink (because our original server was too young to touch alcohol) I asked this new server which cheese was which. "They all look good to me" she said, and laughed as she walked away. Hahaha... Whatever, right! Haha... I've been here enough to know that burger temperatures can be sketchy and the wait for service gets long. My advice: come here for a burger and beer on Wednesday, but stay way for dinner.

Went here for our anniversary dinner and we were not dissapointed. Overall the food and service were quite good. For the price and overall i may normally rate it a 3 star, but compared to the other options in town it is easilly a 4. I had the prime rib and my wife had the priscutto wrapped chicken, my prime rib was awesome and cooked exactly how i asked, and my wifes chicken was good, but a bit on the dry side. We were most impressed with the service and the atmosphere. It has an awesome view over the harbor, and it is clean and has a good amount of seating. The biggest downside s the price, i would probably be more inclined to get the food from the bar side just for the price, and others around us had ordered it and it all looked awesome as well.

Nice view, and decent special on Wednesdays (beer and a burger for $10). We also had the halibut and chips and was decent, the breading was kind of thick though.

I'm not a fan of hotel restaurants. Usually overpriced and underwhelming. The Chart Room was a pleasant surprise. While the menu was spendy, the fish was fresh and the flavors pretty good. The staff was very friendly, the calamari seasoned better than most I've had, and I would say that while it wasn't the best food I have eaten it was a far cry from the worst. Given the options in town, it was a good choice for a nice dinner. We returned again the next day after a long day of hiking and island exploring for beer and wine. Ended up eating dinner again and had their spinach salad with steak. It was overpriced but tasted good. It seems to be a comfortable and relaxed place to eat.

This place is just okay. I only come for their specials. Wednesday is burger and a brew for $10. Thursday is $14 for 8 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes + seasonal veggies. I wouldn't come here and get anything else because it's over-priced. THEY DON'T HAVE VEGGIE BURGERS! Doesn't matter how you order your burger, that shit will come out well done. I ordered medium; came out well done. I ordered a medium rare; came out well done. Chef sure knows his shit! Dining area is nice. I prefer to sit in the bar/lounge area. If you like your beer warm and/or served in a warm glass, YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.

Very poor service - collage / high school kids? We ordered three pasta dishes - no bread, no cheese, no salad, not even the vegetables that said it was served with on the menu. Pricey and unorganized! I would not go back,

Usually I wouldn't expect much of a hotel bar/restaurant in a Best Western...but Chart Room was surprisingly good. They recently got a new chef and kitchen upgrades, so disregard old reviews online and locals who haven't eaten here recently. The best meals I ate while in Kodiak were at Chart Room. I was a big fan of the spinach salad and the reindeer burger, but they had a good selection of other entrees. Prices seemed in line with other Kodiak restaurants but their food quality was better than I saw elsewhere - which says a lot when you're this far out. They also had a good selection of wine, decent beer selection, and a full bar.

The KI (Kodiak Inn) has been up and down over the years, but currently they are one of the best. This is a nice place to go for a special occasion, but also good any time. I've had the scallops (A+) and the halibut (very tasty but slightly over cooked). On Friday nights there is good live music in the bar and you can hear it in the restaurant, but it's not too loud unless you're sitting by the door into the bar. Prices are high, but this is Kodiak, folks! Would be nice to have salad with dinner, and we all miss the little chocolates they used to bring with the check. Overall though, I think it's a great place to eat.

Ordered 2 beers, crab leg plate and small clam chowder. Guess how much crab leg plate cost.... $70. It was 4 legs of the crab. Delicious for sure. Pricing could qualify for extortion though. No prices on menu. We learned our lesson. Silver Shadow 2012.
