We were in Alaska for 2 weeks looking for a great dinner. On our last night came across great reviews of Bar Harbor on TripAdvisor. Why not on Yelp? Who knows. Told the wait was 20 minutes but ended up only being 5. Real nice and friendly server. Tonight they had a Dungeness crab special and a salmon & prawns special. The landlubber (me) ordered the prime rib so had a good variety of dishes. My wife loved her crab dinner. Said it was the best meal she had in Alaska. Son also really liked his salmon and prawns special. My prime rib was very good as well. Not the best I've ever had but very good. We all ordered the twice cooked baked potato which was stuffed with cheese and sour cream then breaded and fried. Delicious. Ended with the bread pudding which was great. Our server was fantastic. The prices not too bad, especially considering eating out all over Alaska is expensive. Highly recommend Bar Harbor if you're looking for a good meal in Ketchikan.

My baby sister & I walked in here looking like tourists from the beginning of the Despicable Me movie...except not obese & (imo) more fashionable. We each had a camera hanging from our necks and sported trademark, California girl tans. SERVICE The awesome hostess accommodated our tight schedule and seated us right by the door for our convenience. We only had about 40 minutes before we had to go on our Duck Tour (which conveniently picks up right outside) so we needed to grab a quick bite to eat. Our waitress was equally as understanding & got down to business. Service was excellent, efficient, and professional. They seemed accustomed to the tourism in the area and were unfazed that we needed to grab a quick bite. My sister needed to borrow a pen to write a postcard (yes, another touristy thing about us) and they lent her one without any resistance or acting annoyed. PRICING On the HIGH side. Not quite "unreasonable" but definitely more than it should be. But you're really paying for convenience. It's got a great spot on the main road that's close to the ship and on the way to downtown. You're gonna end up paying about $20ish pp incl tax/tip at a minimum. FOOD We ordered salmon tacos & an Alaskan clam chowder bread bowl. OMG. SO GOOD. The salmon was freaking PERFECT. The taco sides & tortillas were not impressive, but we're from San Diego, aka Northern Mexico essentially, so we came in with pretty high standards for Mexican food. Lol. The chowder OVERFLOWED onto the plate so much so that you couldn't even SEE the bread bowl underneath. The bread bowl itself was the most weak tasting sourdough ever. Absolutely nothing like Boudin's or even close. It tasted faintly of sourdough. It might as well have been a plain, white bread bowl. The chowder was rich in taste & ingredients were pretty good too. DECOR Ambience is clean, fun, friendly & nautical. Lots of "portholes" on the walls & felt modern & vibrant. OVERALL I'd definitely come back for some grub if I was in the area! Good, decent food!

Went on July 5th with friends post fishing trip. I think group was split on the quality and taste of items ordered. Was told that the prime rib is something they do very well. Thought I should go with fish or crab legs, but went with the prime rib 8oz ($30 comes with vegs and potato and a side salad). Ordered medium rame and got medium. From the get go was a bit disappointed. I'm paying for quality and to get my order correctly. Didn't say anything as I was hungry and just made the best of it. If I was in the lower 48 I would have just gone to Texas Roadhouse for the prime rib. One of my friends found there steak to be spot on and very much enjoyed the food. Our server wasn't the best, but could have been a lot worse.

Had the halibut fish tacos and clam chowder. The halibut tacos were amazing. Having said that, can't get over the clam chowder. Clean, delicious and simply the best chowder I've eaten to date.

It's hard to beat seafood this good, especially when it is dropped off from the fishing boat that is only 10 feet from the restaurant. I had the red snapper, and couldn't have been more pleased. Easily one of the best seafood dishes I've had. It was both creative and fresh with a nice basmati rice. Atmosphere was nice, service was solid.

Had a great lunch here in Ketchikan after touring the city! Mom had the Prime Rib sandwich which she loved, while the wife had the cod fish tacos. Restaurant is right on one of the berths (#4 I believe) and just a short walk from downtown.

Fantastic experience. The food was terrific. We ordered cod and chips, fish tacos, and fried shrimp -- it was all terrific. The service was just as good. The waiter was attentive, polite, and exceptional. The view is great as you can look out at the cruise ships.

Even with the relocation of the restaurant, the food remains excellent. I will say the atmosphere is much more noisy but the Gorgonzola fries and Halibut tacos are to die for. Check them out.

We loved this place. The atmosphere was a classy, modern casual. The waiter was funny and engaging and attentive without overdoing it. We split an order of the Chimmichurri Prawns and it was fantastic. The flavor was intense (which we love and it's exactly what you want with Chimmichurri) and the prawns were meaty and tender and perfect. Yuuuuummm... our dinner friends ordered the fish tacos. They said it was delicious and it definitely looked amazing. Can't wait to go back again.

Halibut! The halibut burger is divine, and so are the halibut tacos and halibut fish & chips. For those with seafood allergies, get the chicken tacos - they are very good!! Very fresh ingredients. The servers are very friendly. Great view of the sea. Outdoor seating on nice days.
