Just lunch: Pizza, salads, and drinks. Pizza was actually pretty good. Salads were actually pretty good. Service was, um, the opposite of pretty good. Slow and completely inattentive during a non-busy time, which was a shame. Place is one of the more nicely decorated restaurants in Alaska, live plants and nice wall-paintings. Would have loved for the service to have been better.

I grew up as a child and young man eating at this place. It was always great fun and amazing food. Coming back to kenai 25 years later to find that the food is still exquisite was superb. Thank you all for living up to the memories!!

Terrible restaurant. Cold steaks. Cold baked potato. Overpriced for the quality of food. You would be better eating at Macdonalds. At least you expect crappy food there.

We are from California and used to high prices. We were still shocked to get to AK and find how expensive eating out was. We were in AK a week and this was about the most reasonable meal we had, should have found this place before our last night. Hubby had skewered souvlaki and I had the gyro plate. We both enjoyed a 'real' meal and the best service we had all week. We would have gone back. Save your money and just go here if you are in 'town'. I was hesitant to go here because of all the poor reviews (I did some Kenai restaurants googling before leaving home). All I can say is, this wasn't great, but it seems there is no 'great' place in the area. we tried 4 of them...sigh....

Recently, I ordered a pizza from here for delivery. After an hour and a half the pizza still hadn't been delivered which was extremely disappointing especially considering since we live less than a couple of miles from the restaurant. We were irritated and tired of waiting so we called to cancel our order and decided to order from elsewhere. When we called they didn't offer an apology, explanation or anything. Expecting your customers to wait for over an hour and half for a pizza is absolutely ridiculous. I would have been more understanding if it had been a Friday or Saturday night, but this was a Monday night. When the restaurant didn't bother to apologize for the long wait time, I decided it that would be the last time I ordered from here. I'll be ordering & spending my money at another establishment in town from now on.

After being a home delivery customer for years I won't ever order from them again! I went into the restaurant and ordered 12 tacos and 2 dinner salads. I had a coffee and Baileys at the bar while I waited. When they brought me my order with the tab it was $76.55!!!!! REALLY? FOR 12 tacos!! When I challenged the charge she explained the tacos were ala carte at $5.00 a piece and the salads were actually $7.00 a piece so they really gave me a break. Who the hell pays $75 for 12 tacos?! Don't you think the server could have warned me? When I said I wasn't going to pay it I was threatened with the police, like a fool I paid. I get home and my order isn't even right. I ordered 6 soft and 6 hard with 3 of each chicken and beef. I got 9 soft chicken and 3 hard beef tacos. The "salads" were just lettuce with dressing on the side. This happened over a year ago and I still won't give them my business or allow friends I'm eating with to go there. Their food or customer service isn't good enough to give them my business 3 times a week. I go to Louis instead, better food, service and prices!

So this would be my second favorite place to eat in Kenai (1st Louie's-Seafood). Italian Food!! I had the Ravioli Florentine with Chicken. Absolutely delicious along with a glass of wine (Folie a Menage Trios White, CA). Place is quaint, clean, staff is friendly. They also have Greek, Seafood and Mexican. I personally can not bring myself to order Mexican food in Alaska since I am from San Antonio, TX. It is pricey but for Kenai it is pretty standard for any restuarant of its caliber. I also tasted the Lamb Gyro, it was good, and my co-worker devoured his halibut so I can only assume it was good, he never came up for air. lol Oh and I must say the best Berry/Peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream, I have ever had. This item is not on the menu but it definitely should be a regular item.

Now most of my reviews of Alaskan restaurants have been very grim and when I had a stop over in Kenai I thought I would be surprised with much better food. Paradisos was well.. not going to be able to accomplish that. The food was just ok... but the service was plain bad. I had to stand and wait to be seated for quite awhile as the restaurant was complete empty of any staff. Though this place was much better than some of the places I have dined at in Soldotna minus The Crossing, it was barely average. But hey at least this place had Greek food ton top of the usual American, Italian, and Mexican food !! Good job Paradisos....

It had been a while since I had been back here. After my visit I quickly was reminded why. It took 10 minutes for someone to realize that my fiancé and I were standing waiting to be seated. The place wasn't busy, maybe ten people were sitting and eating. Finally after being recognized we sat and ordered. I ordered the seafood linguini and my man ordered the chicken Gorgonzola fettuccine. The fettuccine came with soup or salad and we had to ask for some like it was an inconvenience to the waitress. A couple minutes later she came back and told us that the fettuccine meal doesn't come with soup or salad and she had asked the manager if we could have salad. She replied with a no. My fiancé and I sat staring at each other saying "did that just happen?" so he got up and looked at the special menu on the front desk board where the chicken Gorgonzola fettuccine was and it said on the bottom SERVED WITH SOUP OR SALAD! After the waitress came back to our table my fiancé said " your board says this meal comes with a salad , so I want a salad" we ended up getting the stupid salad that we had to fight them over with. He ordered balsamic dressing and they gave us a crusty jar of straight balsamic vinegar to go with the watered down salad. The Gorgonzola chicken fettuccine turned out to be very good. I had the seafood linguini which was a very bad plan. It was straight garlic with what seemed to taste like can of chopped clams thrown on the top along with three measly shrimp. I only ate a few bites them picked off of my fiancé's plate because I was so hungry. After a 40 dollar bill and terrible food service we both plan to never go back. Next time we will stick to Louie's where we usually always go but they had a private party going on. When I eat out I like the service to be good along with the food. Paradisos had failed on both.

I would recommend NOT EVER eating here, if you can help it. The last three times my boyfriend and I have eaten here, he's gotten food poisoning. Yes, I know, we should've stopped going after the first time, but he loves the place so much he insisted it wasn't the food. I hate the place, always have. The staff is very unfriendly, the owners can be heard screaming at the employees in the kitchen all the time. Some of their food tastes decent, but it's not worth risking food poisoning when it happens so often. If you want good greek/italian food, go to Katinas down the road.

Ordered a large combo pizza which was delivered to our room at the Aspen Extended Stay Hotel, pizza OK, hot but a little on the chalky taste side.

We can all agree that the italian/greek thing has been done to death. I cant say that it is different here, but I can say I believe it is improving. Could it be there is fresh blood behind the stove at Paradisos? Thats a metaphor for "new cook" Sick, sick people Paradisos is commonly viewed as a "tried and true" place to eat in Kenai. You know what to expect and you know it will usually be delicious. It does seem like they are trying to revamp the menu, but I havent noticed any major changes. As some might say, why mess with a good thing? Lets face it, there are not many choices in this town and if you want to go out, try not to go in the summer when they are slammed with tourists. Youll get better service, which counts for a lot at this place. Dont be afraid to order items not on the menu; the kitchen is usually very accomodating.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
